I really love this little Mud Bay tucked away in the heart of Fairwood. Despite being a smaller shop, they're usually well-stocked and carry a thoughtful selection of quality pet products. The staff are always warm and welcoming, which makes each visit a pleasant experience. My cat especially looks forward to the little treat they include with each purchase - it's such a sweet touch! I mostly come in for freeze-dried treats and small catnip toys, and everything I've picked up so far has been a hit. I just adopted a cat 2 weeks ago and since this store was close to my home I decided to stop in and check out what they had. The staff asked some great questions to narrow down my food choices and I found some great options! Bunni did a great job showing me different options and even gave me 2 sample bags of dry food to take home and try, Friendly and helpful staff, great selection of food, treats, litter boxes, litter, and lots of toys. I got a tunnel for my little guy and as soon as I set it up he was curious and running through it. This is a great store for pet owners. It is employee owned and they really love their jobs. I just love Mud Bay and was so excited to know that we have one store that just opened around our neighborhood. When I came for the first time, Tabatha came and greeted me right away.I was looking for a certain brand of dog food for my English bulldog but the store does not carry the certain brand. I am very particular about the food my two dogs eat but Tabatha not just helped me narrow down my choices for a premium quality food she also gave me samples of dog treats, wet and dry food for my dogs to try and see which ones they like. Great selections of pet products. Lots to choose from and a pet friendly atmosphere. I would've given them 5 stars, but their prices are much higher for the same merchandise I can find on Amazon. Plus, that one lady with black hair about 50+ years old, stands 5 ft 1 inch is rude! She waited on us one day (about 6 months ago) and wasn't friendly. Didn't smile. Decided to take my senior dog here, Yogii. who is such a picky eater and I always have a hard time looking for food he will like. Staffs here were very helpful and had such great customer service. It's only been my 4th time going a Mud Bay local pet store, my first time to this location. This location is my favorite and would definitely recommend to any pet owners. Only good thing about this store is the convenient location. I wasn't impressed with the lack of selection for my pet's items either. I decided to no longer shop here because the staff INSIST that you need to use hand sanitizer upon entering the store. I informed them that I am sensitive to chemicals and I prefer not to use the hand sanitizer at the front door. I was told that since I didn't use sanitizer that I need to wear gloves. No other business has this requirement, and the only thing I touched was the item I purchased. I agree with social distancing and PPE use but this requirement is just too much. I will now get all my pet supplies from Sierra Fish & Pets and Pet Pros, by Fred Meyer. read more

You guys! Let me tell you something! I was scared to go in to Mud Bay because but seems so high end, and it is. But here's the kicker, they are sooooo nice and down to earth and insanely helpful! This is NOT a place where some kid got a summer job, these people know their stuff and are BEYOND helpful! So my friend just got a dog from her idiot neighbors who had no right to have a dog. He was severely underweight and other things I won't mention here. We walked in and I was worried we'd be judged for having such a horribly looking dog. Instead they just coo'd over him and really got to know what was going on. Bailey talked through different food options to help him put on weight without getting his tummy upset. They gave us samples to try to see which one he liked best so we weren't buying a ton of different foods. Plus they took into account that we had other dogs that DIDN'T need to put weight on. Bottom line is they know their stuff, they can help you with ANYTHING and they really don't care if you have a purebred or mutt. They've got love for the animals and want to see them happy! read more

So happy we have a Mud Bay in the area! Have been to other locations, but they are so far away, so this is really convenient!! Large store, open floor plan, easy to maneuver around and find what you need. Large signs are also helpful to see what departments you are looking for. Very clean and organized! Easy location to find - where Subway used to be, across from Bartell Drugs near Safeway. Big signs, you can't miss it. They have food, treats, toys, clothing, shampoos, healthcare items and more! They even have little frozen ice creams and treats that we will definitely stop by to grab a few during the summer! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, helped us try out a new food for our Staffordshire Terrier who has a lot of health problems. read more

These guys are the best! We started feeding our two dogs part raw beef kibble and part grain free dry dog food. Because we have to pick up the raw food fairly frequently, they special order us two of the large bags that they don't typically carry in stock and hold them for us until we can come in. They text us and remind us when it's in or when we need to order more as well. So A+ for customer service and convenience! We had tried different places for slightly lower prices and in an attempt to support mom and pop shops, but unfortunately no one seemed to be able to get it right. It's worth the extra $2 to have peace of mind that we can get a consistent supply of the same food so the pups don't get upset tummies and so we don't have to run all over town trying to find the stuff at the last minute. Bonus that they have grain free treats in bulk and lots of high quality selection for dry food and toys as well! read more

This place is great! Always in and out quickly (they don't hurry you though). They have lots of good stuff, send me home with a small gift of new treats to try every time and have a really good return policy. Prices aren't too bad either (much better than if expect from a specialty store like this). They're a welcome addition to Fairwood complex and I hope they'll be here for years to come. read more

not the one to typically leave reviews but i use to come to this store very frequently until i discovered pet central.. i stopped by for the convince of the location and was reminded why i stopped. customer service is very awful. was not greeted once. was not asked if i needed help to find anything i was looking for. my hands were full due to bringing my dog in because he loves the pet store as does any other dog, was not asked once if i wanted help, or even help out. the only thing i was told on my way out was to have a nice day by someone stocking who didn't even offer to open the door for me. typically these things wouldn't be an issue as i would just stop coming all and all but the fact i was literally struggling to carry my things out lol. will not be coming back ever read more

Wow! This new Mud Bay location near Safeway and across from Bartells in Fairwood is fantastic! The staff greeted my Shih Tzu Karl and Poodle Daisy so warmly when we first entered. They gave them lots of pets and a treat. The store is bright and full of quality pet supplies, everything you could possibly need. We were looking for a harness and the associate was happy to help try on different sizes on our pooch. We purchased chews from their awesome selection. There's a great selection of dog toys too. It's such a convenient location and I was truly impressed with the service. Prices were reasonable too. I know we will definitely be back! read more
