Absolutely love the vibe, lots of unique decor, feels like you're at a typical seafood sport bar that is on the water. Great prices per oyster/clam if you're having an oyster/clam craving. The oysters are fresh and plump and the clams are fresh and no sign of fishiness. Ordered the fish dip, clam chowder, raw clams, raw oysters, half a rack of ribs, and fried shrimp. UPDATE: Muddy waters left their email and phone number saying "They were very concerned about my review" I emailed them a week ago and have gotten no response. It is obvious what kind of place this is. Their management is horrible. No wonder people get treated the way I did it is the management hiring the HORRIBLE STAFF I've come to your place a handful of times and I have to say I think the food is pretty good and that's why I went back but most of your bartenders are rude and today I'm at the rudest one. The bartender I'm talking about is Katherine. She was rude from the start and the first day she was she charged me four dollars for a draft beer instead of three dollars which is the happy hour price listed on your website. I showed her what your website said and she was totally rude and said "Yeah well prices went up" I was there a few days earlier and there was a different bartender and I got charged the advertised prices. Of which I have screenshot it from their website. I asked for a manager she gave me more of her attitude and whoever this guy was he represented himself as the manager I told him I'll talk to him outside because I didn't wanna talk in front of her I told him that she's totally rude and I come in there all the time. He didn't seem to care . He told me "it doesn't seem like I'm a right fit for this place". Now writing this I am realizing that that was a discriminatory remark. I'm a biker guy and I went in there looking like that. Just like I go everywhere else all over town for many years. They definitely stereotyped me. I was pretty ticked off about it so I posted to social media about it asking people if they've ever had a problem and you'd be surprised that I got well over 100 comments in less than two hours of people that I've had the same kind of issues. Not only that the manager said this place has been here 30 years. He said it in a way like he didn't give a hoot about how I felt. I just wanted to share with people the kind of place this is. It's not the first time I've been treated like this here. The first time it happened I was like maybe the guy is having a bad day but now it's happened more than once and the comment by the manager again was "maybe you're just not a right fit for this place" is pretty out of line. I went to get a burger and a beer drank two sips of my beer paid for it and left of which she did not charge me the advertised price. I did not recommend this place at all they treat their customers badly. I am also going to get some of the other people to share their experience about this place. I would never return here and I'm going to share my experience with everybody I can on every review site that I can find. Management and staff here needs a clean sweep. This was my first time here, and let me tell you I was not expecting what I walked into. This place is decorated so cool, and there are so many different things to look at. My family and some family friends came here on a Monday night before Christmas to celebrate the upcoming holiday. We made reservations, so there was no waiting time for us upon arriving. They were able to accommodate the 6 of us perfectly. We ate inside, but there are super awesome rocking table benches outside that you can sit at as well. There's also a huge bar located in the middle of the restaurant. Most of the party had some beers to start. They offer a HUGE glass of beer that can definitely hold you over with just one. I of course started off with the chili, and it was delicious! There was so much flavor! My boyfriend got the lobster bisque, and another person got ten hot wings as an appetizer. I tried one of the wings, and boy was it hot! Everyone got something different as their entree, but we all enjoyed our dishes. I got one of their specials, shepherd's pie, and absolutely loved it. Some other dishes on the table were the philly cheese steak, corned beef, fish and rice. Only 4 stars because our server was rather slow. We ended up sitting for over 20 minutes before she came over to take our order. I would definitely come back here though! read more

Muddy Waters is a divey kinda joint in a strip mall in Deerfield. I came here with a group of about 15. They didn't have a problem accommodating us with notice well ahead of time. This is a very Keys-like place. They do Karaoke every Thursday night, and according to their website have some comedy nights as well!. Our server was named Jared, he was very polite and helpful. He did a good job taking care of a large group who was wandering in at different times. They have a very seafood heavy menu. I'm not huge into oysters, but apparently are famous for their 79 cent oysters. I had a Moscow Mule, and just ordered an appetizer to snack on. I ordered the seared ahi tuna and wakami. The Mule was a little bit off, I think the ginger ale they used must have been a bit flat. Otherwise, can't go wrong with Tito's. The appetizer was very good. Nicely and perfectly seared, served with wasabi, soy sauce, ginger and some wakami. I was meeting a friend for dinner and he was coming from South Broward and I was coming from Boynton and we decided to meet in Deerfield. I checked Yelp for good restaurants in that area and this one popped up. Boy am I glad that we went here First of all what a cute place! Even though it's landlocked, I felt like I was at the beach with all of the decor. They have those fun swinging benches outside to eat on, which is where my friend and I decided to eat because it was a lovely evening. We started off with the hot and spicy shrimp in muddied waters appetizer. My goodness, was that delicious! So much flavor! Since it was a Monday night the special was Shepherd's pie, and I got that. It was delicious, and it was served with a slice of homemade soda bread. My friend got a French dip sandwich that he said was very delicious, and finished every last bite. This was my first time at this restaurant but it definitely won't be my last. Check it out if you're looking for a good restaurant in Deerfield! (Don't be thrown off by the color of the pictures. If your not put off by the funky decor, give Muddy Waters a try. Their oysters are a good price and delicious. The crab wrap was stuffed full of fresh crab, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo it came with hot & crispy fry's. The steak & cheese was super good packed with peppers & onion and topped with cheese. I was able to sub out the fry's for coleslaw which was homemade and crunchy (which is fantastic in my book). I went to Muddy Waters with a group of 7 women and 2 babies. The outside seating area is spacious and had fun decorations. They had tables/Chairs that were slider/rockers. The music was upbeat and it looked like a fun environment. We decided to sit inside and the host sat us right away. The waitress brought us all waters and menus. She was attentive and had no issue with us all having separate checks. I ordered the the blackened chicken salad with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing and it was delicious. We tried this place on the recommendation of a friend. We are very happy about finding it. If this place was closer to the water, it would be an iconic location for south Florida. The service was excellent and friendly. We were fortunate enough to have Victoria taking care of us. The food was all very good. If anything, perhaps a little too generous with portion size. But we were able to take plenty home for later. I had the Fisherman's Reuben with Salmon and it was excellent. The fries weren't great, but the Mudd Puppies were terrific. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich, which would rival any BBQ restaurant around. The atmosphere is excellent, and we plan to visit again soon. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars, and this wasn't the fault of the restaurant, were the flies outside. We chose to sit outside at the glider tables, which was also a unique experience. At first there were no flies, but once the food arrived they came from everywhere. Perhaps we will sit outside again in the winter, but next time we will sit inside. I'm confident I will then update the review to five stars. Highly recommend if you want a great coastal atmosphere, fun vibe, excellent food and affordable drinks. read more

First time at this restaurant and had a really fun night. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table and then Wayne took over as our server. What a pleasant experience. He was knowledgeable about every dish and drink. He had a smile, was quick and efficient and made the dinner really enjoyable. Thanks to him. Would prefer a homemade veggie burger and not impossible or beyond burger since they both have unhealthy oils and ingredients that do not line up with a vegan diet. Beef Burger was very good. My family and I really enjoy Muddy Waters and have been coming here for many years so it's about time I left a review. The menu is absolutely huge so there is a lot to choose from. The restaurant itself is completely decorated in an island vibe decor. They have a great outdoor seating area with gliding booths And a tropical water feature. Years ago they even have live parrots but they've been gone for a while which is somewhat disappointing because if they were really cool. Inside is dark and tropical themed- think of it like a KeyWest Fridays - with stuff all over the walls and hanging from the ceilings. They have a very large W shaped bar with plenty of seating and dining sections on either side of that. The food has always been good and they have daily specials every day of the week. Oysters and clams are always a dollar each so it's definitely the spot to go especially since oysters are typically 20+ dollars a dozen elsewhere. On Saturdays they also have shrimp prepared any way you like for a dollar each. I think I've tried just about every seafood item on the menu. to be honest over the years some times were better than others but the last couple of years have been been very on point. Expect to wait, especially on the weekends, but it really is a fun restaurant and it's dog friendly too! My kind of place! read more

Wow. A place can go from ho-hum to fantastic, just depends on how you approach it, and more importantly what you order. I have been a few times, almost always for drinks and maybe an appetizer. The other day, we decided to use Muddy waters as a place to meet before and after going to the Renaissance festival nearby. Before heading over we had a quick drink and socialized with the other patrons. It's always a cheerful group around the bar. An older laid back crowd. after many hours at the Renfest we returned and decided we aught to eat something. We went big. Oysters on ice, I got Jambalaya, and she got Mac and cheese with Lobster. the oysters were great, but the Jambalaya, wow, it was spot on. i was tearing through it, sure that I had the best meal on the menu. Then I tried her mac and cheese. Holy Hannah! the lobster mixed with the real cheese, was, well, the best I had ever had. The cheese was gritty or plastic-y, or cheap tasting. Quite the opposite. It was rich and creamy and I was addicted. Luckily she let me have many more bites, or I would have had to just get my own. Lovely little spot we enjoy going to for cheat meals! Since eating fish again, it's a favorite of mine. The mahi-mahi is delicious as well as the fish and chip specials. They really give you a ton of quality fish for great prices. The crowd is older to say the least. The drinks are strong. The decor is dated but charming. And the outdoor seating is nice. This was an amazing fund. The neighborhood did not suggest a fun restaurant so we hesitated but were hungry so we stopped on our way to the casino. My husband had the lobster bisque and a French dip. I had the paella which was on special. Great! The atmosphere was nautical and fun. The service was great. The place was huge inside with outside seating too. Probably the highlight was our waitress. Started off with the calamari and a bucket drink. The peach bucket drink was not bad but expected more out of it being in a bucket (wasn't too fond of it) calamari was good, nothing crazy. Had the seafood mac n cheese for dinner and my date had a wrap (don't recall the name, it had chicken and I think honey mustard) Mac n cheese was pretty good but again nothing too crazy. If you have a favorite Jimmy Buffet song then you should really consider checking this place out. Located in a small and quirky strip mall with a nail salon and a vape pen shop, Muddy waters comes up as the stand out business, providing an atmosphere that would only be understood and appreciated by South Florida Boomers and food the would be enjoyed by any one who likes a well cooked sports bar cuisine for a fair price. This place is at heart what would happen if the Key West opened up a sports bar and your uncle who's a great cook at family gatherings was the head chef. The ambiance consist of 2 bars that are built to look like 2 small fishing boats, outside is a lush paradise with a mini water fall fountain and those cool rocking chairs to sway on while having a few cool sips of your adult beverage. My favorite thing to order when I come here with my boomer dad or my boomer appreciating friends is what I like to call "The Air and Sea". 1 order of fresh, large and delicious Oysters which are plated on a small bucked of shredded ice and oyster sauce (I prefer ketchup myself) and one order of chunky, saucy and thicc chicken wings covered in mild sauce. At the end of my meal I am full and saddened by the fact that the fact that soon there will be no more food left for me to rip into while discussing how garbage the last football season was for the Dolphins.
