They had the audacity to say that what set Vista apart was their communication skills. I understand that pools are in high demand, but they needs to learn how to manage client expectations. I'm sure business is good right now, but long term relationship management is how you make through the lean times. I have had extensive renovations and contract work on my house over the years. This was the worst experience I have even had. Very disappointed. The crew and foreman were excellent, the management was terrible.

The job-site was kept clean, neat, and safe during the project. Minor errors were made right immediately with no argument from the team. After everything we went through due to Hurricane Ida damage (2 years of travails!), this was the final project and we are so gratified that we were able to find Quillen Construction to finish the job. A very nice guy named Jim came out and did some measuring, gave me some design options and came up with what I felt was a very reasonable quote for iron doors, on the spot. They came out as scheduled to install the doors. No fuss, no muss. Over the years the look of the iron doors has held up very well. I have had some of their crew come back at my request to adjust some things as settling on my house has occurred. It is both a great product and they provide great service. I have recommend them to friends many times and have been thanked in return. Then, a few months ago I got a letter from my insurance company asking me to install handrails around my front porch and stairs and without hesitation I called Security Iron Co. to get a quote. Guess who came to my house the very next day? My old pal Jim from 11 years ago. Again he did measurements, we discussed design options and he produced a reasonable quote. I hired Central City Millworks to build 4 windows and replace 2 doors at my home. I started working…read morewith an employee who unfortunately ended up leaving in the middle of my project. I was left to deal with the owner Clint and things went downhill quickly from there. With the previous employee, we agreed on a price, I verified EVERYTHING was included and signed the estimate. Shortly after the employee left & Clint began trying to add extra costs to my project. He tried to add an extra $1500 to have the windows approved by the VCC for permitting. When I asked him about removing this fee because I had already agreed upon a total amount he later removed it after a lot of back & forth. When he removed this fee and sent the quote back to me, he added an extra $370 to the price of the doors without mentioning anything about this. After I noticed the increase in the door with ZERO explanation I knew I couldn't move forward with Clint bc he cannot be trusted. After putting down a $5400 deposit and having issues after the employee left, I had to threaten to sue Clint to get some of my deposit back. Clint ended up keeping $2200 for the drawings that they had done when I am only able to use 3 of the 5 drawings. Follow up & feedback from Clint & the employees in the office is terrible. If I were you, I would not start any project with Central City Millworks because when it goes downhill you have to fight to get a portion of your deposit back and to be left with nothing.

The reason I knocked them a star was for some consistent miscommunication between me and their team. At times, they were really responsive and on top of it. For a small period in the middle of the planning phase, they were hard to pin down. Ultimately, they build 3 sets of shutters and had them dialed in nicely. Hardware install was decent. Not perfect, but totally functional. The team they sent for the install did a really good job of troubleshooting in the field. I appreciated their effort. I know it took longer than expected for install. Good product and good install. I would use these guys again.
