In May of 2017, we received a notice from the IRS that we did not satisy our 2015 taxes owed. Boyer and Boyer said they would look into this for us and let us know the outcome of their investigation. I followed up with them one week after giving them the form and a POA to complete the investigation on our behalf. They were still investigating and assured us they would get back to us with an update within 7 business days. They did not, so I followed back up 2 weeks later, speaking with Sandy, she mentioned we had not provided certain documentation (2014 1099-G forms). I asked if they would've known we needed to have these and if they should've requested this from us, she said "We wouldn't know if you would have received these forms since you were a new client at that time". I said ok and came home to check my records and I found that we had indeed, provided them the forms in question. In was in the folder with all our other documenation they provided to us. Not only did they not properly complete our taxes, they lied about not having received these documents in order to hide their error. We've been charged interest and penalties, in addition to the monies owed, since they failed to get back to us in time so we could respond to the IRS. We will take our business elsewhere next year as we had never had any issues with the service we used before.
