The main point is that you can take the Bernina Express and the Glacier Express from/ to here - that's all that mattered for my trip. Since it's a small station, it's easy to navigate. The walls have artwork highlighting how St. Moritz is part of the UNESCO World Heritage route because of the Rhaetian Railway (Albula/Bernina Lines). It's clean and it doesn't smell funky. It felt safe even late at night. There's nobody here. One note, don't use the vending machine no matter how big of a rush you think you're in. Going to Coop is much quicker. The vending machine steals your money and doesn't give you what you paid for.

Great breakfast, not as great beds…read more My wife and I recently were on a tour and we stayed at Hotel Laudinella while in St. Moritz. The scenery alone was incredible. The food we ate at the hotel - both dinner and breakfast - were wonderful as well. We enjoyed all of the bread choices, the fruit choices, the breakfast meat choices. Mmmm. So good indeed. One of the nice treats of this trip was being able to sample foods, including breads and cheeses, that we simply do not have back at home in the States. While at Hotel Laudinella, my wife and I found that we simply loved the cheese that was made locally in the Engadine valley region. It was delicious. The room itself was nice, but so was the shower. I try not to be critical in my reviews, but unfortunately, the only sore point we had was the bed. There was basically only one small mattress on some plywood. Another issue, which I found more and more in this part of Europe, was that there was no thermostat in the room. As spoiled Americans, we need to be able to adjust the temperature at night - even if we can cool it off by simply opening the door. As a result, we ended up roasting at night in very hot temperatures. I got up more than once to open the window to let the cool air inside; thankfully, it did manage to get down to zero degrees Celsius the night we were there, so we did get cool. In spite of the room, we all enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it, if only for the breakfast. Be sure to consider the Hotel Laudinella if you are visiting St. Moritz, or only passing through. (TIP - try to get a room with a comfortable mattress.)

Our waiter, Tomasso, was very pleasant and quiet patient with our language barrier. He is multilingual and was speaking French German and English to various patrons. He helped coach us through ordering and also recommended a delicious apple ice cream which was an absolute surprise. Highly recommended! Patient with Americans.

I've stayed in quite a few mid priced (for St Moritz) hotels in St Moritz and this is my favorite…read more The location is great, it is near to the main restaurants and bars, shops and has easy access to the lifts to ski. The rooms are functional and a plus is certainly the huge closet with plenty of hangers (one of my pet peeves is that a lot of hotels have about three hangers, where are you supposed to hang your clothes) plus the big full length mirrors with good day light. I absolutely love the breakfast room with view on the frozen lake and the selection is quite good. The quality of the food in the buffet is great and I love you can have your eggs cooked by the chef. But most importantly the service is always great, the team is always friendly and willing to help. Only downside I would say that it get's pricey on busy weekends and that the room has no iron (but they offer reasonable priced and quick iron service in house). Would recommend!
