We rented a two bedroom condo which was a great option. We have made our own meals at "home" twice. There is a great market in town with fresh vegetables and a good selection of all that's Italian.
The location is in a quite part of town but hey, all of Murano is quite after 6pm.
This brings me to another subject; if you want to go out at night to catch a late dinner or have a glass of vino at a cafe, stay in Venice. There is NOTHING OPEN after 6pm here except for one restaurant. The other challenge; you need to jump on a boat every day unless your good staying on this quite island for a couple of days. We are here for a week so every day requires a boat ride which brings up another subject. Buy a multi day pass from the Actv waterborne "bus". This will save you time by not standing in a line to buy a ticket every day and it's cheaper.
One other thing; don't be offended if people don't acknowledge you when your walking by and say "buongiorno" to them and they just look at you with a blank stare. It seems that no one acknowledges each other here (Murano) read more
