The Shell garage is generally 1p cheaper than the Tesco station opposite. The forecourt is not as well maintained as it might be, with cracking pavement in places. The shop could do with a lick of paint, but they stock milk, marg, and bread as well as the usual garage fayre. Some of the staff can be a bit surly, but they are generally polite and efficient. There is a carwash at the back, but the one time I used it, it didn't clean my car to my standards, so I won't bother with that one again.

Well, that gives you an idea of the state of my car when I drove into this place! I don't usually frequent car washes because my husband maintains that the brushes scratch your car (!), but since the sign specifically said hand car wash, I thought I'd give it a go, especially since the rest of the sign read from £5 - bargain, I thought! For a fiver I was quite prepared for a quick spray off and sponge down, but I was pleasantly surprised to find 4 hard working men spraying, lathering, leathering, waxing, polishing and 'tyre prepping' (whatever that is) for the best part of 15 minutes. Towards the end of this I was convinced that I'd got the price wrong and was starting to sweat that I didn't have enough money on me, but no, they only charged me a fiver. Absolutely marvellous - just wish I lived a bit closer so I could use them regularly.

As we were leaving to try a forth national tyre company we passed 'Deals on Wheels' in Tavistock street and I said to my partner we should try there as I had a tyre from them last year for a Renault Clio. Not only did the chap fill me with confidence from the outset, the price was fantastic. My partner and myself said after our visit we would never go anywhere else ever again. Even if we moved to Scotland we would travel back to these guys. I strongly recommend visiting this company for tyres, our van was a Ducato and tyres were in stock. An expert MOT tester is a double-edged sword if ever there was one, but at least you know your car is 100% roadworthy. If it meets Andy's standards, it's got to be pretty good, which makes for absolute peace of mind. Having fuel on site is very handy when you are caught short miles from home. The nearest filing stations are in Weedon and/or Middleton Cheney, so quite a distance. They also sell tyres and fix punctures - another godsend. Another nice thing about Moreton Pinkney Garage is the range of vehicles they work on. Last time I was in, there was a 1904 veteran car with a 1930s Sunbeam, my 1976 Porsche and a 57-plate Corsa having a service. Makes it interesting if you are a bit of a petrolhead. Recommended!
