Definitely the worst fish and chips ever had! The fish was rubbery and an off putting taste. The fries were bad frozen fries and lukewarm. Other dishes had were not any better-mostly overcooked and of average taste. You are paying for a nice patio view and nothing more. Service was fine, but definitely inexperienced. read more

This is quickly becoming our go-to spot when we head up to the lake and I am loving exploring the menu. We started with some kros strain fairy nectars from the tap, which as an Omaha native, you can't go wrong with a kros strain brew. We sat outside, and there isn't a bad seat on the patio. We tried some salads, burgers, and chilsca steak bites and they were so juicy and tender. With two little kids with us, theres only a short window of time where they sit still, and service was quick enough to get us in, fed, and out before the group got unruly. We even managed a family photo on the deck. Can't wait to come back. We stayed on the Crofton side this year, and it's just a stones throw from the Eagle Roost RV park, making it a quick drive over. read more

A supper club feel set on the river. Nice patio that could use a bit more something to make it feel beachier . Inside is a bit run down but who cares. The bar was out of ingredients to make the specials and the liquor choice is basic. A nice fluffy loaf of bread was brought to the table. Salads suck but the yummy ranch was a good cover. Chicken was juicy and good but the walleye was lacking walleye. Too thin~all coating. Quite the disappointment for dining on the river. If you want fish go to the "DAM Fish Shack" down the road. Great service. Beautiful place, great food. The patio is very relaxing but they only serve a small menu outdoors. Full menu indoor. However, staff were amazing. I had a long stressful day and they were accommodating and let me eat outside. The salmon was very flavorful. For dessert I had the brownie a la mode and it was delicious. Average riverside restaurant. Only had to wait about 20 minutes, at 6:00 on a Friday with a group of 7. Was looking forward to the Walleye that I had heard about but bringing it in frozen from Canada, and the preparation technique, made it a little tough. Panko Shrimp was also overcooked a touch. The dining room was so cold you could no take your coat off. The food took 50 minutes to arrive and the place was nearly empty. I had Chicken Broccoli Fettuccini Alfredo, and it DID NOT COME WITH GARLIC TOAST! When I asked for garlic toast, they said it did not come with it. That is insane. Who serves it like that? Do they think they are pushing the boundaries of culinary art by deleting the garlic toast? Better yet, what is so hard about putting garlic powder and butter on a piece of bread and grilling it, especially if the customer is asking for it. I WILL NOT EAT THERE AGAIN! read more

Service was good and the food was average. Fried pickles with cornbread coating was very good. Jambalaya was too heavy on the fish which was the overpowering flavor. The Blackened Shrimp Linguine was supposed to have andouille sausage but the chef must have forgotten. Their idea of dusting the shrimp with blackened seasoning is not what I considered blackened, but I can live with it. The Apple coffee cake was good but must have been there for a while in th fridge as it was served very cold and the walnuts were like little rubber nuggets. read more

Friendly staff but since ownership has changed some things are lacking with the over the top effort put in.... Definitely no efforts to making dining a safe distance with covid. Cleaning is minimal, often glasses still are dirty from the last persons drink. Food is okay, often times mistakes are made, but they quickly try to fix the issue, but with any food place they can't keep your food fresh while fixing the other mistake. read more

Enjoyed a good dinner here after our first day at the 2015 National Field Archery Tournament. We were a party of 12, with 6 different states represented in our group, many of us had not enjoyed local specialties like Fried Walleye before. They have a lovely River side location, but were not serving food outside the day of our visit, so we ate inside at a large table. Our server did a nice job of making us all feel at home and Murdo, himself (which is his nickname), made a point of talking with us after dinner to genuinely thank us all for coming in. When he found out I was from California, he gave me a big smile and shared how much he enjoys visits to the Napa Valley and the Bay Area, especially the opportunities to see the SF Giants and Oakland A's -- he is a huge fan and there are photos throughout the restaurant of he and numerous famous athletes together. Food was good, no complaints from anyone in our crew. If you are staying in Yankton, or anywhere nearby, it is well worth a visit, to arguably the best restaurant in the local area. read more

Went to view dam on Friday after Niobrara dam break. Decided to eat there as we have ate many time before. Was only half full and was seated quickly and order taken shortly after. Sat for 45 minutes noticing people that came in after us were getting their food . Talked to receptionist and she said how busy they were. Waitress finally came and said meal would be half price for the wait. Said it would be served in two minutes. Waited five more minutes and got up and left. Hour wait when they were not overly busy was long enough. Won't be back soon for sure. read more

We have been going to Murdo's for years. It is a popular eatery with a lovely view of the river. We have always found it to have consistent quality and friendly service. We usually get a cheesy Murdo burger but, the walleye and the ribs are also good. Waiting for a table is pleasant on the deck. I highly recommend it. read more

Food is good I have never had a bad meal there, the southgate is one of my favorite sandwiches. I hadn't been there for a while because the owner upset us by seating friends of his after we had been sitting and waiting for over a half hour and they had walked in with in 5 minutes. We have been to Murdo's numerous times. However, after our recent visit we will not be back. The service was haphazard. Ordered the surf and turf. The steak was good but the accompanying walleye consisted of two tiny pieces of dry, over cooked batter. The loaf of bread that accompanies the meal (usually delicious) tasted stale. Went in to have supper and Waited 20 min which wasn't that big of a deal but the reason the score is low was the service. When Ava (Eva) came up to our table there was zero eye contact with us as she was staring at her iPad and chomping on her gum which she should have just taken out of her mouth the way she was open chewing it was unappetizing. A different server brought us our drinks and our food. When ordering I was cut off in the middle of talking because I had to wait for her iPad. By the time our food got to us my boyfriend and I were just over the night and weren't hungry anymore. Almost left before the cheese balls came out.
