2.75/5 stars This is the bar that people wanna go to at the very end of the night, or the very beginning. I personally come to this bar when I wanna kick start my night with a couple shots, or when I want to end my night with a chill drink or two. One of the main reasons why I come here is because of the hot dog stand that's usually situated right outside, which has exceptional hot dogs/burgers, esp when you're drunk. I find the drinks here tend to be a little on the expensive side, esp for regular shots even with wells. I play trivia every week at Murdocks (FREE on Tuesdays from 8-10ish and you win $$...for those who are interested ). The bar has a nice atmosphere and isn't very crowded (which I like). For trivia parts of the bar are much more full than others but I always feel like I have room to breathe. Sports are usually on TV but I've seen them put up CC important events before like election debates which is nice if you are trying to choose betweeen TV or social night. Drinks are strong and the specials are good! I've noticed they have new staff recently but all my waitresses have been decently attentive (some more than others) and I'm never dissappointed there. Some of the staff are real lookers too :) Although they don't serve food, you can always bring stuff in and Googly's (amazing pizza) delivers there for free!! All in all a good chill place with cheap but effective drinks. What more can you want on a week night? read more

If I could give it less than one star, I would. Let me paint the picture that I experienced. I have a service dog for my PTSD. Stoney, my service dog and my best friend, is well-known on social media as the friendliest and best trained dog anyone has seen and has been right by my side, every where I go for the last 4 years... I get out of my truck and start walking towards the door with Stoney. At the door, there is a gentleman checking IDs. As I approach, two huge, jacked up dudes walk outside and post up in front of the door with their arms folded as to block the entrance because I have a service dog. I start to hand my ID to the gentleman checking them, and I am immediately bombarded with requests to see my papers on my dog. Mind you, I live 10 hours away and I am on vacation to have a good time. My papers are locked in a safe at home I tell them. They reply, "You don't look disabled". "You have to have a physical disability to have a service dog in our establishment, because it's a health code violation"......... So, if you have a service dog, make sure you either have your papers, or you are visibly fucked up so you can get past the gym rats at the door! read more

If you're looking for a trashy joint where you can single-handedly witness the process of people looking to get laid left and right, go right ahead. Overpriced drinks Is an understatement. I spent $45 fucking dollars on 4 shots... I could have bought 2 bottles for that much money and drank at home to drown in my sorrows because attempting to cheer myself up in public is too much to ask for, literally LOL. I live across the street from this bar and I would STILL rather walk my ass to the liquor store than come here. As soon as we got here we got welcomed very nicely, problem was girl in bar told us 3$ shots, over a period of 3 1/2 hours we drank about 10 shots tab came to over 300$. As we asked for our tab, we had left a card on hand but we were paying cash (which the girl said card was only Incase we left) as i look at my account to see if they had charged me, i realized they did. Once arguing with the bartender, and escalating to manager (who stood up to us as is we were going to fight) they explained that she only meant $3 off $9-8 shots. The more we argued the manager seemed to get even more hostile towards us. In our defense $300 for 3 ppl is a lot since food is not included because we ordered wings from another place. They brought the tab down to $109 which seemed way way way more reasonable. Again only problem is they recharged my account $109 twice besides the $300 that they had previously charged me. My total spending that weekend in one bar was $518. Mind you this was weekend of New Year's Eve so i had to wait an even more for my bank to refund me because of this issue. This bar over all wasn't bad, good location, awesome customers, and well very cold beer. Won't let a few bad apples ruin the bar for others or the establishment . A few friends who were here for the last two long months helping with the disaster response in Aransas Pass and Rockport were denied entry due to a guy who had a t-shirt with no sleeves. I asked the door idiot I want to speak with the manager he said there is no manager. Other individuals sitting in the patio start voicing their unwanted advice. Some Twinkie Nathan shows up at the door and said I'm a manager but not working. I said what is this rule of sleeveless males that can't come in on a Thursday. I showed him pictures on your yelp page of women in spaghetti shirts and men in wife beater tanks. Nate said that only m-w that was allowed. I said where in the web site is that mentioned. We had at least 25 people from our organization that wanted to party tonight. One person was not allowed and Nate made no sense in the rules. He said thurs-sat men couldn't wear cut off shirts. Wtf kind of establishment is this that women can wear anything and men can't wear certain clothes on certain days. It's bs and Nate couldn't really define the rules by saying it's different for women. Fuck you and your horrible management. Rest assure I'll make a point to write a horrible review everyday on your site for the rude treatment that I got by your staff that wasn't working that night and the rest of your patrons. The door man here was so rude about wearing FLIP FLOPS inside.. this is a beach town so I find this hard to believe. I do understand some places having dress codes, so we asked the reason we were told "because it causes fight." They could have went about the whole situation in a much more polite way. The service was fast and friendly, the drinks were cheap, and while the ambience isn't terrific, it's a solid sports bar. Well I have to say had a great time being out of town from Austin tx asked where else to go to have a great time in all. Bartenders helpful was leaving and told the bouncer by the door thanks and see you soon gonna check out downtown where the bartender directed us and he followed us out saying we arnt ever to enter the bar again and shouldn't have let us in the first place cause I have a tattoo on the back of my neck. I am old and when I was young I put a tattoo of a band I really enjoying growing up on the back of my neck. He said you can't have tattoos on your neck at all and shouldn't have let you in in the first place. Wow I felt we were having a great time and then got dumped on. I guess they took an old guy for an gangster or something. Kinda screwed up our night.
