This place starts and finishes earlier than its rival around the corner, and if you go in after 3pm you are more than likely to find them clearing up for the day as they close at 4pm. All in all, though, a very good butchers.

It is also very clean and tidy inside, which is a good sign for me. There has also always been a queue when I have been in which shows the popularity of the place. Overall, I think that this butchers is worth a visit if you live locally or are just passing through.

Again the chicken itself was excellent and I have no doubts I will be back. I do have to travel some way to get to Handsworth from West Bromwich but it is worth the travelling because I know I am guaranteed quality food from here. The store is pleasantly clean on the inside and its displays are always well laid-out and incredibly enticing. Seldom seen delicacies are available on cut-price offers and the store's selection of seasoned burgers and sausages during the summer months is second to none. On a recent visit, I purchased 3 trays of ready-to-cook peri peri chicken for just £5! The service wasn't great, I waited for what seemed an eternity for service and when it came it felt that it was a laboured effort. I asked a few questions on how to cook my meat, but didn't receive much help in response. I do love the Classic Meats bike outside, but City Meats is my butchers preference.
