The different sections are clearly marked and easy to find. All the different sections are distinctly decorated and laid out, including a whole village in the history section and an 80s bedroom in the gaming section. So much love and care has been put into this place. There's also a big cafeteria that offers lunch buffets, as well as a café with a selection of breakfast and lunch offers. You can definitely spend at least one entire day here, don't miss this gem of a museum!

There's a no-photo policy, but so many things to try and play with! Lots of spy history from around the world with many interactive exhibits and even a spy tunnel to try and spy on other visitors. I really enjoyed this unusual museum.

The Finnish Labor Musuem located in the Finlayson area has lots of exhibits to offer. There is no…read moreentrance fee which is a plus. There are also English translations on most pictures which is a plus for those who haven't brushed up on their Suomea. As you walk in, on your left there is the front desk where the staff is very helpful and willing to explain things in English. Touching of the exhibits is mostly forbidden expect for a few like the dip pen, props and a piano which you can play to your hearts content. After you have circled around don't forget to go to the steam engine museum which is located at the back. Here you can expect to find a model steam engine. Overall, the museum is well done but I would recommend it as something to do on a rainy day just as I did.

I just wish they'd have more of an extensive audio guide to go with their beautiful exhibition pieces. I loved the atmosphere in the darkened rooms and the interactive exhibits especially. Definitely a must-see for every Moomin fan and a recommendation to even the most casual readers! Note, this museum is inside an entertainment venue, you'll buy your tickets at the info desk and will then be shown where to go to find the actual museum.

Fast-forward to May 2026 and my husband and I are in Tampere. We watched the 2 episodes of Moomin available on the plane ride over from the US on Finair. It's definitely a children's show but the stories weren't very hashed out. Oh well, we figured we'd still stop by the Moomin Museum as we had seen that Moomin is everywhere in Finland - bandages, juice, cookies, backpacks, sauna towels, airplane livery... It's everywhere. The museum is a bit expensive. €18 per adult. The museum is 2 small floors with dioramas and some original art from the books on the walls. Information is on little screens in 6 languages, including English. When you walk in, you're given a museum guide that's 40+ pages long in a hardback book (that you must return) that gives a synopsis of the 9 Moomin books and some information about some of the displays that go with each book. The museum is set up where you enter the top floor and descend to see more dioramas from other Moomin books below. I wish the dioramas were numbered as certain dioramas go in a particular order as you're walked through different scenes in some of the books. The museum doesn't have old Moomin merchandise or information about the various Moomin theater productions, movies or comic strips, it's all just dioramas, a few drawings and 2 screens playing some clips of Moomin. There is one interactive exhibit - a projector that allows you to have your silhouette Moomin-fied. For someone who didn't grow up with Moomin, I felt like I was expecting more from a museum. There is a lot of reading involved so I'd probably not bring small children here. The kids that were here were screaming and crying while I visited. If you're not someone who grew up with Moomin, I think you can save the money and skip this museum. Visited: May 2026

The food was lackluster and not worth the price. We went here because we saw it on Google maps as a good place, and we needed to get breakfast somewhere. Unfortunately they disappointed us. Do not recommend the breakfast buffet. Maybe the a la cart food is better. But considering how lame the buffet was, there was tons of people there.
