Smiling as I type this. The employees here are exceptional. Years ago my folks rented my musical instruments, and I did the same for my son. Unfortunately our time with saxophones, trumpets, and violins didn't go so well. That's alright as not everyone is gifted musically. Yet the staff here is, as they are knowledgeable, along with being kind and polite. A nice group of folks. Located in Twinbrook Shopping Center, it has been here for a long time. It's not huge, but they also sell guitars and other instruments. I trust their knowledge and high quality service. If you want sheet music, they have plenty of books for you. They are terrible. I subscribe for 4 lessons only because I was going overseas. I made this clear to them that it wanted only 4 lessons. I noticed that they have been charging every month to my credit card, even though I was not attending class. I am trying now to get reimbursement, but they keep telling me that they have requested to their headquarters. There has been already more than a month, and I have not received any response. They owe me a lot of money! I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I started with Music Store before it merged into Music & Arts and was promised my balance from my rent-to-own contract would transfer with the new merger. But this has not happened. I've called customer service/billing several times and spoke to Rafael who refuses to honor my contract and transfer my balance of 11 months of payment already made, which is $500+. I was told I would receive a call back to resolve this issue and never did. I also emailed twice, with no response. I was told I would need to restart my payments. I don't think that's legally ethical! read more

Disappointed with our experience here. Jumped through a bunch of scheduling hoops to get my kiddo set up with lessons, only to learn that the online scheduling conflicts with the in-store scheduling. Jumped through more hoops to get lessons set up on a day and time that worked for all, only to have the instructor complain to my kid about the commute during their first lesson. Not a great experience to get us excited about music, so we canceled and will look for lessons elsewhere. Terrible customer service. There's a man who always sitting down behind the counter even when you're talking to him. I think he may be the owner or manger because I saw him all three times I've been to this store. Not only that he seems annoyed or angry you're asking him questions about things related to his store and services. Terrible way to do business. Burke music store has friendlier staff. Cheapest rental prices around but their customer service is horrible. I ended up going to another store for a friendlier atmosphere. We come in a least once every 3 months (our piano teacher uses these guys exclusively) and they are never friendly or act as if they know us. read more

This store is great. They really let you browse and try out the merchandise. (I'm a guitar nut, so I hate it when places don't let you try out the guitars!). They also don't hassle you for a sale, which is great. They had a limited selection of books, but overall a great shopping experience. I think they have guitar music lessons there too. read more

My daughter decided to play the sax this year very excited I have seen the music store for a long time but never got chance to visit it. I called and the gentlemen who answered the phone was very helpful and accommodating! He walked me through their rent process and how much easier to do everything online! When we picked up the sax we got a breakdown on what was needed and how it works and all the basics. Come to find out that they also offer music lessons! Will definitely be coming back! read more

I really like Twinbrooke. They have a much better selection than Music and Arts, and their employees are also more knowledgeable than the other smaller music stores in the area. Had a great experience here today getting a drum set for my son. Originally ordered the set from Amazon, which was a huge mistake. Amazon sent a mismatched set and returning it was a nightmare. Guitar Center didn't have anything in stock. I called Twinbrooke on a whim, but didn't think they would have anything in stock 2 days before Christmas. I was wrong. They had what I wanted in stock and it was assembled (huge bonus). The salesman was extremely helpful and even threw in a few extras. Before ordering online or dealing with a big national chain, please consider shopping here. Amazon may be handy and big national chains may have a large showroom, but when you need advice or service, you are out of luck. These guys are in the neighborhood and appreciate your business. I've been a customer here for 5 years now. My kids have taken a variety of lessons from several different teachers here for years. I've read a few other reviews and I'd like to add my two cents in regards to customer service. This store has more of an artists vibe to it. Being an artist myself, I know how quirky we can be. The people who run this store may suffer from RBFS from time to time, but you will not meet more knowledgable and talented people.... truly! read more

I want to echo the previous review. This store feels like it is owned and run by musicians, not business people. The people at the counter aren't super bubbly, but they are knowledgeable and happy to help customers with their questions. The location is convenient, prices are extremely reasonable, and the quality/selection of music classes, instruments, and supplies are outstanding. I would give this store five stars if the music rooms were a bit larger. Otherwise, I am so thankful for this store and the wonderful music lessons my daughter takes there. read more

I took piano lessons there with a great teacher for several months.The problem was the staff/employees. I deployed overseas for over a month and arranged make-up lessons with my instructor before I deployed. I explained this to one of the employees when I returned and he stated that I would pay for lessons during that time. This seemed brutally unfair to me and since I was taking piano lessons for my personal enjoyment, it was time to leave. Super unfair and very disappointing. I had one more lesson paid for on the books and I told them to keep it. read more

This music store is the best regarding lessons, great teachers, instruments, music, repairs and the Nice, Professional and Knowledgeable People who work there. I've been coming here for 20 years for lessons for me, my kids, to purchase and rent instruments etc, and even for advice, and have never encountered rudeness from an employee. Everyone who works there has always been calm and helpful. But I do remember instances of parents being rude to employees during instrument rental season. I think people sometimes mistake their own stress for other's rudeness. This is a great independent music store with super knowledgeable staff and our community is lucky to have it. read more

My son has taken guitar lessons there for years. Great instructors have kept him improving. They have been very flexible is scheduling make up lessons, etc. Their recommendations on equipment responded to my son's interests, rather than promoting a particular line, without any pressure to buy. read more
