We are newly arrived in Portiragnes. My husband is an enthusiastic alto sax and guitar player. Second week here a string broke! And he needed a couple of new reeds.
I searched the internet for good local music shops and found the Music Center (American spelling!). We visited this afternoon and found a huge shop - you can go from room to room - with mostly guitars, but also pianos, drum kits and keyboards and a good selection of printed music. Possibly the wind instruments are their weakest area.
The staff who were on duty - on a Saturday afternoon in rainy February - were both talented musically (we heard a guy demonstrating a very sophisticated guitar zoom box with amazing musicality) and very helpful behind the counter. (We may have also caught a glimpse of a technician in the back room doing repairs).
