A cute little shop that focuses on doing one thing well. This is a good option for a cheaper lunch/dinner option as most of the items are $2-3 each which is a welcome break from $20+/entree cost of most places on Oahu. The onigiris are very basic and we tried a variety - tuna, spicy tuna, tempura, spicy tempura, roe and ume (we don't eat spam) - everything was decent but my personal surprise favorite was the ume, really tasty tangy salty flavor if you are into that and a great veg option.

Perfect food for beach or airport, wood food, long wait, small sack , I saw one table at the very end, probably good for pick and go

One hundred stars! I saw this place somewhere online and I am so grateful, because this is such a hidden gem off the strip. But is it not unknown. We always say if there is a line out the door that is the place to try and this place definitely had a long line out the door, but that was fine, it gave us a chance to figure out what we wanted to try. They are such a small business, but not only have food but many fun souvenir items to buy. They have copies of the menu outside posted as well as menus you can browse as you wait in line, but also pay attention to the chalk board for more choices not listed on the menu. We all went with the same pick, shrimp and avocado musubi. It was so fresh, the absolute best musubi that I have ever had, period! They have more items that just musubi. People were coming out with bags and bags of food. Unfortunately for myself, I only had an appetite for one and we were not able to return since we were visiting so many spots, but I will be dreaming of this tiny delight! If you are a musubi fan, this is a must visit place.

Being in Honolulu for the first time, we had to try musubi. This place was highly recommended in the area. We tried the shrimp avocado musubi which I expected to be really good and the eel egg which I expected to be strange. It was the exact opposite. The shrimp was breaded which didn't work well in my opinion. The eel and egg with the teriyaki spam married well. I wouldn't have to eat it again anytime soon, but I'm glad I tried it. The wait wasn't long, the line wasn't terribly long either.

Line is usually long but goes by quick. Love this place. The Musubis and salmon bowls are so good. Worth the wait and every dollar spent. The customer service is always friendly, never experienced a rude service.

Spam and rice concoctions wrapped in seaweed. My wife and kids loved them. I got cool leftovers later, so was not terribly impressed, but those who had them hot and fresh loved them. My wife had eel and avocado added to hers. My daughter made them breakfast three days running. Served quickly. Order. Wait for your number to be called. I did not go inside because it looked cramped, so I cannot speak to the ambiance.

You can never go wrong with musubis. This is the place to go when you just land in Oahu and are waiting for your hotel to be ready, beach snacks, and for your flight back home. They've been consistent and have the most flavorful musubis without doing too much or making it something else that it isn't. I know I can make it at home but it doesn't taste the same. I love their variety and none have been a miss. Their most popular is the spam egg. My favorite is the kimchi spam and the tuna mayo spam. I think bc they opened up more spots or the hype died down but over the years no more long line. They have cute swag and insulate bags for on the go. They are open early so you can get fresh musubis to start your day !

Having that high rating with over 1500 reviews was certainly intriguing. We're lucky we stayed super close and bumped into this Musubi cafe. It's busy since relatively early in the day but ordering process was seamless and they got the order pretty quick. Your number would be called when everything's ready. Their menu was rich that you had tons to pick from. Price was decent for the size as well. Our picks were the salmon ikura and spam shrimp avocado. Both were so good and our highlight would certainly be how they nailed the sauce.

This was honestly one of my favorite food spots I've tried in Waikiki so far. I got the miso salmon musubi, unagi, egg & spam musubi, and the spicy tuna -- every single one was super delicious. Especially the unagi one and spicy tuna one! The prices were really affordable, everything came out fast and service was great. I appreciated that there wasn't unnecessary onion or filler overpowering the flavors. Just really solid, fresh, flavorful food. They also have cute merch in the shop which made the place feel even more fun, OG and local. Mega recommend if you're in the Honolulu/Waikiki area. I'd especially recommend going around 4 PM -- perfect snack or early dinner moment. I came here again on my way to the airport to have a good hearty snack on the flight. Definitely one of the best places I've eaten in Waikiki.

I was already skeptical about Musubi before coming here because it seems to have a lot of rice and I am not a big fan of rice. I ordered their top 3 best selling ones and as I was imagine, it was a lot of rice. I ate their top top portion only and some rice. If you are Musubi fan, you might like it but not for me. Top portion was pretty delicious though, spam wasn't salty and pretty balanced with other ingredients. Service was great, the stuff explained each selection patiently. It was casual setting and cozy.

Musubi Cafe Iyasume is the bomb. It's the perfect snack and item to bring on a hike, I always come here every Oahu trip!! There's such a variety of toppings to choose from that you will be racked with indecisiveness... That is, until you remember that it is a five minute walk from your hotel and you can just come again the next day. I've never been disappointed with my order, even just the regular spam musubi is to die for. I liked my unagi musubi very much, the inside is cute and sells lots of gadgets and gizmos and Musubi Cafe Iyasume merch!!! This is a very cost effective place to hit up.

Great quality food and fast service; great Spam-themed souvenirs for purchase available. My friend got various misubis and was impressed by the size, price, and quality. Great stop, but do not expect to have seating it is grab and go!

Musubi and onigiri that is made fresh. The rice was nice and fluffy, seaweed crispy and the spam and toppings appropriatley seasoned. Its a nice hole on the wall and the lady who took my order was very sweet. Atmosphere was that of a gift shop. Also, they sell the cheapest Spam musubi i have been to. They left the door openmsoma bird flew in.

Might they offer soy free and gluten free options?

Don't think that option is available.

Is this place open on Christmas?

Yes we’re open Christmas Day And New Year’s Day Thank you.

I'm not sure about ordering online. I would recommend just grabbing it on the stop.

Is this place cash only or take cards?

    They take both.

Are any of the musubi gluten free?

Not that I know of due to the sauce involved in making musubi containing gluten. For sauces to be gluten free means no regular soy sauce which is not something common with most asian food.

Do they use MSG? Spam doesn't have msg?

    There's MSG in the Spam

    Any vegan options?

If you are talking about the musubis themselves, try the musubi with ume (plum), the hijiki musubi (savory seaweed filling) or the mixed hijiki musubi. I usually get those. I would recommend the daikon, seaweed and konyakku oden but most times the…

I highly recommend making a reservation as this place is very popular and is not very big inside. However, the service is very friendly! I had the deluxe pork loin set which includes rice, salad, soup, and curry sauce. The meat was extremely tender, but the coating was a touch oiler than I am used to. The curry sauce was really tasty and was a nice addition to the katsu!
