However, the interior is limited in viewing by an excruciatingly slow guided tour in French. I'm currently writing this review as a bored tourist. The entire experience is a long and slow one, taking anywhere between an hour to an hour and half. There is no option of a self guided and self paced tour, so expect to be here long. Admittedly we tried to exit in the middle of the tour, but the exit doors are locked. The tour guide actually unlocks and locks each door as we go through the Château, so there's no escape (also, is that a potential emergency hazard?). I'd recommend signs or people that inform guests before paying that this is a guided tour only, having at least taped audio tours in different languages so that we aren't limited to sheets of paper with a small short paragraph of each room. The rooms are musty. The tapestries are amateur. The masonry and sculpture working is rough compared to chateaus in the Loire Valley. Without much information of each room (since we were limited to the sheets of paper in English) it's a dull and very long tour. Staff were friendly and happy to answer everyone's questions though it seemed. I just wish I knew what they were talking about.
