In the food kitchen they offer a carnivore plate. Brisket, fajitas, sausage and 2 sides for $14.99. I ordered the plate, it tasted like day old meat not very good. For the food order they asked for my name. I waited 15 minutes and finally went to ask how much longer for my food. It was sitting on the counter. No one informed me my food was ready. The restrooms have gotten horribly filthy. I try not to use them but have to make rest stops here, often, while traveling. The sinks are so filthy the porcelain has turned black, lots of corrosion throughout. There is never any soap, although, it says "employees must wash hands." Exactly how do they wash if the soap is never refilled? The bathrooms should honestly be renovated. read more

Stopped there once. It was the dirtiest place I have ever been. The restrooms are atrocitues. I do not see how anyone could eat the food. It made me nauseous to even think about eating their food. read more

The Muy Grande has been around for quite a while, it started as a small gas station and it has grown to a convenience store all in part to the Deer contest. Through out the years this place just grew bigger and bigger, centered in South Texas where it is rich in Game hunting. The store itself is not bad at all as it is equipped with a lot of your basic necessities but I must say it is a bit pricey. The walls are covered with some nice decor and some of the walls are covered in pictures of trophy hunts and records that have come out of this area. So if your are an avid hunter for deer especially you might want to make a trip to Freer Texas and start getting involved in the Muy Grande deer contest. read more

They literally have some of the nastiest food. I just went and got their "chopped beef burger" and specifically asked if it was a chopped beef sandwich and not a hamburger. Well it's literally "chopped beef" not shredded brisket. It doesn't even look or taste like brisket at all it's like beef tips and totally disgusting and uneasy to chew. I knew I shouldn't have eaten here but I gave it another chance and I was wrong again. Potato salad is also served warm and French fries are basically heated in a microwave at least that's how mine tasted. I'm so mad I want to just get my damn money back right now. Can't even see how their allowed to sell actual food. read more

Cute gas stop. Some interesting things to look at inside the store. Friendly staff working the counter. I always love the super thin beef jerky these type of places offer (by the slice). Always great to have while road tripping! read more
