I needed to take several breaks to rest my arms and/or catch my breath. When I first got out of surgery, I went downstairs to the food court area (which is small). But by the time I got there, I dreaded the trek back to the car. It's almost a labyrinth to navigate through. Overall, the service and staff have been 5-star caliber. But the building's layout and lack of wheelchairs for use inside really hamper the experience for someone who struggles to get around.

They give priority to deployed servicemen and everything was pretty much head of line privileges for those individuals. State of the art facilities...and since it is in Germany, most of the stuff you see in the states also come from Germany, so the stuff here in this medical center are some first rate high quality German made stuff, like the x-ray and MRI machines. Yah, I was bored and noticed where these were made. Decent sized dining facility, with a small food court and a mini-mart. Free transportation to Ramstein, though it is sparse.

So now explain to me what I paid in the €239 if you did none of the lab and analysis work? Response was it just what we charge for wellness visit. That is not an answer and I dont like feeling taken advantage of. I don't think I will return to AMC without a proper explanation of billing prior to any future appointments. I highly recommend you ask questions about billing and costs before you accept any recommendations from them. That includes who else outside the clinic will charge you for procedures involved.

No one answers most of the day, even right at opening hours. This can be during the winter seasons when their is an increase in viruses or during the non-winter months. I sent an email first thing when they opened, and even by 15:00 there was no response. My partner and I both try to call and see if one of us can get through. I understand they are busy, but when I go in there are maybe 1 or 3 other people in there. I know I need a certain Rx and it will literally take 5 minutes, and I may have to wait 2 days in pain because it is too full. They need to up their staffing (as they charge enough as other reviews have stated) in order to meet the needs of patients. Even at the very least, answer the phone!!

They wouldn't let my husband come in when I first got there bc of COVID-told me I had to wait until I was 3-5 cm before he could come back. There was no waiting room for him to sit in bc of COVID. I was 2cm at 1pm. I dilated from 2-9cm in 3 hours time. Leading up to that point, I was checked on a total 3 times. No one helped me while in labor, told me how to breath, how to sit, offered pain relief, offered encouragement, NOTHING! They didn't check my cervix again until 4pm and I was 9cm! Said "Call your husband, sorry there's no time for an epidural". He was only 10 minutes from the hospital but didn't make it in time for the birth. I didn't get my epidural, my husband wasn't there for my labor, and he missed the birth because of their incompetence nursing care and lack of knowledge and compassion. It was a traumatic, heartbreaking experience. I feel like a special event and moment has been stolen from our family and I'm grieving over it. No one massaged my uterus after birth or checked my pad count to monitor bleeding. They didn't do any tests on my baby. I also was unable to latch her from birth to breastfeed and when I asked for help, no one would help me latch her. The excuse I got from the nurse was, "some babies don't even eat the first 24 hours, we'll worry about it after that." I threw a fit and made them give me formula for her. I was so upset with my care that I requested to speak to the chief of the department-Dr. Onder. She offered no apology for the poor care, stating "you just went too fast, there was nothing we could do" and also stating, "well, my husband missed the birth of our first child, too." I myself work in healthcare being a registered nurse and am absolutely appalled at the absolute awful care provided at this hospital and complete and total disregard for safe patient care not to mention lack of compassion. If you are planning on having your baby here or even considering it, I implore you to find somewhere else! I don't want anyone else to have to suffer what I went through.
