I told the waitress that I wanted it without the sourdough, and that I had wanted an order of of the roasted Brussel Sprouts, as I was looking forward to them. She said fine and that the sandwich had come with salad Greens. Sounded great, and yes it was delicious. BUT! They basically only gave me a 4oz piece of salmon and a few salad greens, and I'm guessing she didn't put my Brussel Sprouts order in because I kept asking for them and I didn't get them until I was pretty much done eating. I also had to ask for water, when she'd been past my table serving other guests several times and I had finished my water. They bagged the Sprouts up for me and said they were not charged, but by then I didn't want them. Then, as I had stated I was pretty much done, and I'm trying to wave her down to pay for my food as she's going to other tables. I ended up walking to the bar to cash out. I'm hoping it was just an off night as I hadn't been in years so I was looking forward to eating there again. But if service is like this, I may not go back for some more years. My recommendation is to stay on your waitress for service.

Just a few suggestions are needed: I stopped in for both a drink and a meal and to my surprise was told by the very thin female bartender, "I can only make drinks that are in the system". That was truly a new one on me. Bartenders would usually make any drink a customer asked for. If I want a mixed drink, why does it have to be only what the ingredients are in the system? That isn't customer service. In addition, the bar lacked Midori. (Common liquor) My meal was placed as ordered however the cook came out to speak to a customer and 2 mins into his conversation with what seemed to be a friend of his, he told the bartender the last ordered meal was ready. NOTE: I was the only one there who ordered food. Puzzled again... why didn't he just bring it out with him... it was already boxed. When I received my food, I received a pile 25 napkins as well. That's A LOT!! It was perceived as though, I shouldn't need to ask for any more. My seat mates who I didn't know snickered in awe. As the minutes went by, 2 more guys came in and asked what was the cost of 2 types of shots. Each time she had to walk away 5 steps over to the register to give the price. They too were perplexed as to why she didn't know the prices or why aren't they placed where customer can see them. Which brings me to the menus on the bar. Why are they in a cover like a book? Outsides of the menu are two blank pieces of white paper. You have to open that to see the menu. For better marketing, I suggest the menus go on the outside so it can be visible to anyone who sits at the bar. Otherwise it looks like pieces of white paper in a plastic cover just thrown on the bar. OR change the binder to a 1 double-sided holder OR put drink prices and liquor varieties in the empty pockets. Lastly, 1 guy at the bar brought it to my attention that the same bartender (only one working on a Wednesday evening), was washing glasses in a solution then soapy water without rinsing. Usually there are 3 dips to washing a glass and the 2nd dip should not be soapy water. He didn't want to order another beer knowing he could be drinking liquid detergent residual in his beer. This resulted in a loss of potential revenue. Never a good thing with sanitation is a known issue. Other than the above issues, food is good and the atmosphere is usually quiet. They do have karaoke on the weekends starting at 9pm but not it's highly attended for some reason.

First impression? It definitely gives off biker bar vibes from the outside, but once you step inside, it's way more welcoming and laid back than you'd expect. Good atmosphere, friendly people, and the kind of place that feels like a hidden local favorite. I ordered the Biker Burger, and it absolutely delivered. The burger was juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly, and packed with great taste in every bite. You can tell they care more about making good food than trying to be fancy. If you're making the trip to Buc-ee's and want something local instead of chain fast food, Rip Rap Roadhouse is definitely worth the stop. Great burger, cool atmosphere, and one of those places you're happy you discovered by accident.

Classic tavern setting but great outside deck & patio. Room for live music and both bar & restaurant seating. Service is casual and friendly but efficient and smooth. Food is casual but barbecue and smoked wings are where it is at! Homemade kettle chips are good & the onion rings are real & crunchy! Beer is cold & plentiful, and the bar is stocked. When I am going from west to east or north to south, this and the Buckhorn Tavern are my two must haves! Highly recommend!
