Quick, Easy, Affordable. I took my vehicle here right after I picked it up from another shop that I felt was overcharging me for the work that needed to be done. Luckily My Dad's performed my brake inspection for free unlike the other shop which charged me $35.00 to tell me what I needed. I had called over to My Dad's first to get a rough idea on the estimate to do the work, and though many scenarios could take place with pricing it sounded much more reasonable. They took it in, did the inspection and confirmed the work that I needed done within 15 minutes. Provided me with a quote which I agreed to and proceed to complete the job at hand. They replaced both rear rotors & pads, fairly fast though I have to take into consideration that it was not a busy day there, which worked out perfectly for me. Overall I saved $170, and I wish I would came here first then I would not have wasted $35 at the other location. Also they provided me a life time warranty on the rotors themselves, which the other location was only offering a year. Though I don't need brakes often, I would definitely come here again. Probably come by to have them complete my tune up too. Highly recommended, polite, honest and again affordable. read more

These guys are an honest shop and that's what I really like about them. It's not much of a waiting room but they do offer wi-fi and free coffee. There are ample chairs and a TV / magazines for reading. While I was there, I watched them tell one guy he didn't need an oil change yet and another gal what was wrong with her engine and who she needed to contact to fix it. The prices are fair, if you don't know how to do your own repairs or if you are busy. I even called a few other shops and My Dad's was still either the lowest or super competitive. I spoke to the manager named Dave as I wanted to get a 2nd opinion on a water pump replacement that my new dealer (whom took over ownership from a prior owner & relocated) & Dave was awesome! He was very honest, inspected my car quick and efficiently (in about 10-15 min) & informed me I did not have anything urgent to be concerned about regarding my water pump being replaced. I had a really good feeling when I chatted with Dave as well as when I stepped in his establishment and upon leaving did tell him I would bring my business to him from now on for oil changes and any necessary maintenance and repair work. Needed to get an oil change for my old man's car and based off the reviews from Yelp, I decided to give Dad's a chance (fitting for my situation, huh?). Drove up and noticed they weren't busy at all. Came in, gave my information, handed over the keys and within like 15 minutes my car was ready. Super simple straight forward approach Bob and the guys have here. 29.95 for a simple oil change is not bad, especially considering they check your filters and tire pressure. Just went there during lunch today to get an oil change and the bulbs in both my headlights replaced (I brought in the headlights that I bought at an auto store some time before). I called in beforehand to make sure that they had the right oil for my car, which is a full synthetic oil for my Civic Hybrid. I got there at about 12:15 pm, and there was no one else in there. They quickly helped me and got my oil changed and lights replaced in about 15 - 20 minutes while I waited. It was very fast, which is great. Price-wise, since it's full synthetic oil, this place was pretty standard ($89.95 w/ labor). I didn't get any special discounts or anything, even though it was my first time. I guess that's fine, though I just read another Yelp review saying that there's a discount card that you can get. I didn't get one, and they didn't offer anything like that to me. :( Maybe it's only for regular oil changes and not synthetic oil. Overall, the mechanic was very friendly and nice and so were the people there. The waiting room is pretty small with just chairs, some magazines, and a bathroom. I guess considering how fast they service your car, you don't really need anything else in there (like a TV or free coffee) to entertain you while you wait. Today was a warm day, and I noticed that they either didn't have the AC on or they don't have AC, since the doors were open and it was pretty warm in the waiting room. I plan on going back to this place to get my oil changed. It beats having to wait a long time at the dealership or get harassed to do all sorts of stuff to my car that I don't need done at other places that may be cheaper. I gave the place 4 stars mostly because I've only been here once and it's not the best place with the best service I've ever gotten at an auto shop. I've actually taken my car some great places in OC before, though we recently moved and those places are now too far away to be convenient to go to during lunch. If I continue to get great service at this place, I'll update my review and up it to 5 stars. read more

They are honest and won't upsell you services or products that you don't need. They won't dilly dally with your car. Oil changes take no more than 30 minutes of your time and thats with a tire rotation (I waited over 3 hours at the dealership for an oil change no tire rotation). Loved these guys! I went to my Subaru dealer to have a light bulb replaced (10 minute job) and they wanted to schedule me a date TEN DAYS later! I decided to check Yelp (of course) and found this mom and pop shop and for about half the price I was quoted at Subaru and in about 10 minutes time...I was on my way! This place is a joke. Went in to ask if they do transmission services and they told me no. I then glance at a sign that listed all of the services they offered and transmission was one of them. I then rephrased it and asked why they had a sign that list their transmission services. He said it's only for specific cars or some bullshit without even asking what car I had. I then asked if they did muffler installation, they told me no because they need a state legal muffler and they won't ever mess with that because they will get shut down?!? (Exhaust was also something that was listed as one of their services) What a joke. I'm surprised this place has 5 star ratings at all. They are probably all family or paid for. Pathetic That entire business center is a joke, walked next door to the stereo shop and asked how much for installation if I provided all the parts. He told me $2500!! Hahahaha!! I am such a fan of My Dad's Auto. I was told by Firestone and by a dealer that my cars struts were leaking and I need to replace them asap. After calling around for prices, My Dad's gave the best deal (1st point). I had to call repeatedly to see when I could bring it in because my schedule was so crazy and every time I called, the person on the other end of the line was awesome and had great customer service (2nd point). My Dad's does free inspections/diagnostics and said they would inspect my car first before doing any repairs. I got a call not much later that my car was fine and didn't need any repairs (3rd point). My husband flipped (in a good way) when he was told we didn't need to make the $500+ repair to our car, especially when we were already convinced we needed to and told them we would do it. Plenty of auto repair shops would have lied and raked in the money, but not them! Fast forward a week later and my rear window won't roll up. I brought in the car for a free diagnostic and they said the motor is going out. They ordered me a new part and put my window up in the mean time. I left to run errands and they called me just a few hours later to come back and put in the new part. It took maybe 5 minutes and I was done! I know this is a long review, but this place has so far, been so great. I used to work at a dealer and have met some shady advisers and techs, but these guys are awesome and have great customer service. For certain repairs, they're also cheaper. Very honest establishment! I just left the shop after having them look at my brake fluid and my leaking oil pan gasket on my "classic" 1998 CR-V. They put my car on the lift and inspected my items of concern. Robert, who was working the counter and who personally looked at my vehicle said the two issues were not a major concern especially based on the age of my vehicle. He said I could pay for a brake fluid change but it wasn't necessary at this time. He never tried to upsell me on any services and I walked out without paying a fee (I did leave a tip for his time and expertise). Based on the age of my vehicle, he could have easily looked for aged parts to quote me on replacement, but he didn't even do that. It wasn't busy when I arrived so I didn't have the feeling that I was rushed out to attend to other customers. When I have issues with my other vehicles, I will be bringing them here.
