I've been dealing with itchy bug bites from our camping trip and decided to finally get them checked out. I was greeted by the receptionist who was sweet. No one was in the waiting room and all the paper work was done by using the link they texted me with. There was a lot of questions and surveys to complete in order to check in so beware of that. Without insurance I paid $99 to be seen. The nurse practitioner listened to all my complaints. Overall, everyone was friendly and helpful!

At first I really liked the experience here but today speaking with Lupe in the billing department was horrible!! I am out of bp medication called for a refill they stated I needed and appointment the set me up with a video appointment. I e check in and it needed my co pay I pay and it removed from my account but it would not let me log on. I call the office 4-5 times and I will assume it was disconnected. Finally Lupe from billing gets on and states I owe a bill as if I was running. It was supposed to be taken out of my account plus I have insurance. But I really need my meds. She then states well they can't take your bp over video so rude and uncaring in the medical field!! I get it if you feel I owe we can work it out but I need to get my medicine which is priority. That's like going to the emergency and they say no we can't see you. I have insurance. I asked if I can file for a complaint and she said yes on the app. As I was in the process of writing and uploaded pictures of my account reflecting the payment made an error code stating my account was disabled and removed then a text saying I no longer had access!! That is so unprofessional!! All my test results a my prescriptions mamagram, cardio test everything I have no access to!! Is she even allowed to do that? And she has access to all my personal information and documents. Unhinged people should not work in helping fields!!! Now my bp is really high having to deal with that type of behavior.

I was not excited when my neurologist told me it would be 75 for them to complete FMLA paperwork. I called my doctor now, who had done the original nurerology referral, and was able to get an appointment same day and for only 25.00 (!!!). I make a quick and easy synopsis of my issues, gather up my PT appointments, OT, carpal tunnel, my tests and scans. Once I'm in the room, Solanch Tangap comes in and asks how much FMLA I want. I was baffled, no one who filled it out before has ever asked me that. The professional is supposed to make that determination. She went on, "once a week? Twice a week? Every day?" I didn't know how to answer. I can have flare ups/appointments/problems every day, some putting me out for half an hour and some lasting days. I showed her my paperwork, all the items she needed to fill out the FLMA paperwork. She took the first page of PT appointments and told me to keep the rest. When she asked if there was anything else, I asked for a flu shot, a prescription to provide my employer for an ergonomic workstation assessment, and a note to wear supportive shoes for my back issues. I was told that they would do the paperwork and the shot. They would not help with the ergonomics recommendation or the shoe waiver. She said didn't have the time to write my paperwork plus two additional prescriptions and log it all. I told her that was ridiculous. I didn't really feel like a good bedside manner was presented. When the paperwork was handed over, not even all the questions/spaces has writing. It didn't list my reasons I would take FMLA (Specific issues have to be defined, if they aren't defined and I need to use leave, my employer could (will) deny it.) I sent it back. She made the front desk person go back and forth to ask me when my condition started, which she would have known if she looked at my records She filled out more. Sent it back. I reviewed it. The questions weren't answered fully. I refused to pay for it. It would have been immediately rejected by my employer as incomplete anyway. What a colossal waste of time and terrible experience. Upsides: every other person in that office was pleasant and professional, and my flu shot didn't hurt.

I'm most disappointed by the incredibly long wait times and lack of available appointments. Every time I show up for an appointment, either early or right on time, I expect to spend a half hour in the lobby (past my scheduled time), and then an additional 30 minutes in the actual office I'm taken to. Appointments are never, ever avaiable the same week. Not even for issues like UTIs, or known illnesses that just need a quick dose of antibiotics. I got a rare day off work to take care of doctor appointments and was extremely disappointed to find out that the soonest appointment available was 3 weeks from today. The receptionist also asked if I had a preferred Dr. Surprised, I requested the Dr. I had seen last time because I was satisfied with her care. HA! She is booked until July. I just don't understand the breakdown of how this place operates. I imagine it's because of people like me who have nowhere else close to go, have weird insurance, or can't afford the Laveen Country Doctor. I wish I didn't have to go here.

There are plenty of thing that still irk me about this place besides waiting: They take a lunch from noon until 1:30 pm, so if you have a lunch break and need to talk to someone, tough luck. Why do they need an hour and a half for everyone to take a lunch? Also, getting test results used to come through email or they would call me. Now I have to call them, then call back several times to see if I need to see the Dr again because I'm still sick. Then they tell me he might be sending me a referral in the mail but they don't know yet... SO I wait for the mail to arrive for a week and nothing. Do I call back? Has Dr Tran decided whether I should get a referral yet? It's so strange. I am buying myself a car today just so I can go to see a doctor I don't have to walk to. This place is far too disorganized.

This is not a review of those two practices, but rather this review is relative to the 7th Avenue Famiy Practice at the same location. All 3 are within the MMIC health care systems. I have been a patient at this practice for several years, my doc there is Dr Smarik and I have also been treated by Jenna Snyder the Nurse Practitioner. I have had really good care through this office and i feel that Dr. Smarik is an excellent physician and i trust her judgement. And the rest of the providers here are all just as good. This office operates like a well oiled machine right down to the front office staff who greet you and make appointments. The right hand always seems to be coordinating with the left, which is a comfort. Also they are very good about same and next day appointments when you are sick and they send your prescriptions electronically to your pharmacy which saves you even more time and effort. Overall I would highly recommend the 7th Avenue Family Health Practice if you are looking for quality Primary Care. My experience has been very good here.

I was denied insurance through my boyfriend's company because they don't recognize domestic partners the day after I had impaled my thumb on a palm frond. Unsure if I had insurance I decided to go to the county urgent care. They charged a $50 deposit and will be sending the bill within a month. When they gave me a two hour ETA for the wait time I ran over and had some lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. Upon my return, I had about another 30 minutes or so but they really did keep it to that two hour window. Once in the back under doctors care he carefully explored inside my thumb to make sure that there was no foreign debris still in there. Once he was done the nurse came and slapped a Band-Aid on it and I was out the door. Thank you to the doctors and staff at county urgent care!

Wow, people do not appreciate my doctor for the excellent physician she is. So since I was a…read moremedical office manager and a professional medical transcriptionist for more years than I care to think about. I know a good physician when I see one. So I am writing this review, as I find it hard to believe some of the negative remarks I have read in reviews of her office. So I want to put some things straight. I am retired. TYG (Thank you God.) I think I need to explain some things. Doctor Gregorio is an Internist who specializes in medicine for the aged. That is what Geriatrics means. Not every physician specializes in medicine for the aged. I am 69 years old. I know old when I see it. I don't want to see a pediatrician. Although, kids and old folks have different requirements than your run of the mill adult, and react differently to medication. There are a few medications that I took for years and can no longer take because of the changes in my body, and my body's chemistry. Dr. Gregorio is more likely to know all of that kind of stuff and takes really good care of me. Plus, I have a complex medical history and I have some complex medical issues, most seniors do. To give you an example, I live in a senior community and I listen to people talk about their medical problems and how long it takes for them to get an appointment with their doctors. The average is 4 to 6 weeks. Guess how long it takes me to see my doctor, as long as it is Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 5:00 pm, and I have a problem, I get in my car and go to her office. She told me she is my ER between those hours. If it is after 6:00pm or Saturday or Sunday, to go to the ER, they will get a hold of her. I feel that this is a workable solution to all of my medical issues. She also has referred me to some excellent physicians in other specialist fields. I have several. They actually seem to talk to each other which also makes me very happy, medically speaking. There is something else she does, she teaches medical assistants and nurses, yes she does. Good physicians are not "Doc in the Boxes," and as far as answering medical questions she prefers face to face not on the phone where things can be misconstrued or misunderstood. I happen to agree with her. So, if her phone is busy or they don't answer on the second ring, she takes walk-ins if you are already her patient. What that means to you folks who haven't seen her yet is you have to make an appointment for your first visits, you might even have to go in twice for that first visit because she will probably be wanting some blood work and other fun things like that so she can get a base line on your medical needs and she will want to talk to you about it. So, if the office cannot answer your call on the second ring stay on the line they will get to you, and if you want my opinion, and even if you don't, you should wait until they get to you on the phone. I sleep better at night because she is my doctor. You would sleep better at night too if she were your doctor. Last and not least of the things I read, "She should get off of her lap top." Sorry I had to laugh at that. She will never be able to do that. You no longer have a paper chart folks, your medical records are now in that big computer in the sky. Why you may ask? Thank your government for that. It is now all EHR that stands for Electronic Health Records, she is writing her notes about your office visit, she does a good job of it, some are still struggling with that. There are some advantages and disadvantages to EHR. Remember hurricane Katrina, New Orleans was under water, and all of the medical records were destroyed due to flooding, all those medical records are gone. EHR go to a server that may or may not even be in the same state as you and your doctor. So don't worry about her and her lap top. She is entering her notes while it is fresh in her mind, just like she used to write in your chart, as a matter of fact she is typing in your chart. I just thought I would explain that.
