Food was fine service was fine. Service fee was charged per ticket for our party of 7. When i questioned it the waitress, with an attitude, pointed out it was on the menu. Asked to see the menu she through it down in front of me. Sure enough party of 6 or more service fee. We paid it fine. When leaving i looked for signage stating 6 or more policy. Nothing. I asked to speak to the manager just to suggest maybe posting a sign to let folks know. She had an attitiude about it so they obviously get flack about it and its a cash cow for the business. First time here to eat. Went on a Sunday drive today after church in Rockwall and stumbled across the diner. We were super hungry and everything on their menu sounded good. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs, wife had a club sandwich with onion rings. Our meal was super good and the service was great. They even give military and first responders drink discounts. Definitely a hidden gem, so if your In the vicinity of downtown Kaufman, you gotta give this place a try. You won't be disappointed !! My husband and I were passing through this town today on a long drive and found ourselves hangry, lol. We looked on Yelp and saw the 5 stars for this hole in the wall cafe. It was so amazingly charming and the waitresses were quite delightful. Pure country charm! The food is mostly homemade with a few exceptions, but everything tasted delicious! We decided to make this place one of our stopping places on our long haul to Dallas. If you get a chance stop at this place to eat, you won't regret it! Let me start by saying the service was friendly and attentive. The food however, was mediocre. My taco salad was good although they were out of guacamole. My son and daughter has burgers which they said were very bland. Wife had a sausage omelet which was also bland. They forgot the pancakes and my sons mashed potatoes which were finally brought out as we were paying the check. Cheese fries were drenched in Cheese Whiz which made them soggy. Based off of reviews my husband and I decided to try this place for breakfast on a weekday. To avoid the kids at the front, we sat at the back, one table away from the waitresses "rolling the silverware" with their bare hands going back in forth texting on their phone in between touches. About half way through our meal one of the cooks came out to take a break and as he rounded the corner I saw him knuckle deep in his nose. I wouldn't trust him to make my food ever again. read more

For some reason I am super obsessed with the waffles here. There is nothing particularly special about this place but the food and service is always so good. The only thing that is a disappointment is that they changed their hours so you are limited on the days you can go. I generally would tell you to go here. Food is good, the staff is generally friendly. However the last two times I ordered from here (didn't go in, they are always full). I ordered $73 worth of food for pickup. I arrived and waited for only a few minutes. I got my order and drove home. Now this diner is about 12 miles from my home so it takes a minute to get there. When I got back home I found they had forgotten my father-in-laws Grits (its a northern thing) and my waffle. I called and they said to come back and get it. 12 more miles there. I walk in and the nice lady that I picked it up from said "weren't you already here?" to which I said "yes y'all forgot part of my order" she apologized and I said "it happens". One of the other ladies said "I'll get it", and she walked off. She came back with an 8oz. cup that said grits on the top and a bag. She said "grits" and handed it to me then said "waffle" and handed it to me. Then she turned and walked away. Not another word, not I'm sorry that happened, not can we give you a coupon for a free cookie, not kiss my rear. Just "grits, waffle" and walked away. She seemed like she was upset with me. I always give a place 2 chances, and since the last time I ordered wasn't great either, I give up. Oh and to add insult to injury, no butter, no syrup, and the waffle was cold and soggy. This was my first trip here since new ownership. Our waitress was very sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable of the menu products. The service was prompt, the food orders were delivered quickly and the food was still hot and very tasty. I had a T-bone steak and grilledSquash& zucchini both were delicious and perfectly cooked. With all the good reviews, I was looking forward to lunch at My Love's Diner. Myself, my husband and our three grandkids went for the 1st time today 7/8/22. Husband and granddaughter ordered breakfast which they both liked. Two grandsons ordered burgers which they devoured and said were delicious. I ordered the chicken fried steak, red potatoes and okra and it came with a salad also. Okra and salad were good. I failed to ask before ordering if the chicken fried steak was a hand breaded fresh steak or if it was frozen. Well it didn't take but one bite to realize it tasted like a prebreaded frozen mystery meat chicken fried steak. If you have ever eaten a frozen cfs you will know the unpleasant taste I'm talking about. I was so disappointed in the way it tasted. The red cubed potatoes were good except for the one that had a tiny rock in it that I almost broke a tooth on. Also, another thing I noticed was when the tables were cleaned off, the cleaner is in a spray bottle and they just spray the cleaner on the table and the salt and pepper shakers, the syrup, ketchup and any other condiment that are always left on the table between customers gets a cloud of cleaner on it also.
