I had a really great time at My mom's. I ordered their carnitas tacos and lemonade. You order at the counter and the person who took my order was so warm and sweet! It got busy while I was there so it's a popular spot. Really cute ambiance! Would recommend for a quick bite.

I won't forget the surprising juxtapositions of the Bowl of Love, or the friendly vibes, including when my internal monologue about decoding restaurant menus went external. The red chile is a standout on its own; there's heat but much more than that. The Bowl of Love in which it appears is a structural wonder. Not sure how they do it but presumably science is involved. The other components - fideo, beans and squash - should be sampled on their own at first but at some point blending is inevitable. This is the kind of place where I perhaps spend too long staring at everyone else's plates.

They are located in the ground floor of office building right across from police station. They did a great job decorating the place and you can pick your table based on which flower painting you like. Food was spot on. Would happily revisit them to try more. We had breakfast.

After judging a goat show for the Bernalillo county 4H we decided to try My Moms for brunch. We have wanted to try it for a while. We were greeted right away by a real nice lady and told to look at a menu before ordering at the counter. Lunch started at 10:45 and we were a little early for it, but wanted to try the breakfast. My husband ordered the Big mama biscuit with sausage. It had a green chile gravy that had a tasty flavor. It was not spicy but but he said it was delicious. I ordered the Huevona's Rancheras with red chile. Mine was very flavorful but not spicy at all. We will definetly be back. Prices were very reasonable.

My first visit to this establishment was on May 27, 2025. Is it a nice location downtown with adequate nearby on street parking. The outside signage is a little bit subtle, and you may have a hard time finding it on your first visit. But once you find it, you'll be glad you did and you will be back. I guarantee it. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There's good natural light. The decor is colorful and interesting with lots of creative painting on the table tops. The menu features comfort food with lots of nice choices. I had a tuna salad sandwich and my friend had green chili stew. The sandwich was absolutely delightful. Soft bread with a nice taste to the tuna itself. Prices are very reasonable.

First time in New Mexico? Then there's a simple stop for you to make to get all you need from local cuisine. My Mom's does everything right: the service was kind and quick, the reputation is amazing and the food was very local and authentic. The Green Chile in the bowl was some of the best I've had and the enchilada dish was very cool, lots of flavor with the egg being a nice touch. The owner, Carla was working inside and greeted everyone that came in, many on a first name basis. People of all sorts came in while I was sitting down and I thought that was great, this really seems to be a spot that is loved in this city.

Absolutely one of my favorite lunch spots downtown, it can be a little hard to find but definitely worth it. They have a great selection of different sandwiches and breakfast offerings. My go to is definitely the Ruben which is a favorite from back in the day when they had a different restaurant. In addition to the more savory bites, they always have a good selection of baked goods. Usually just a cake or two, but they're always great.

New place in downtown Albuquerque just opened in 2022. Hard to find unless you are looking for it. At the bottom of an office building, with no big signage. Big open area with large windows floor to ceiling. You order at the counter, paying for the meal, and tipping, ahead of time. Customer picks up the utensils, gets plastic cup for filling with water and ice, and come back to the counter to get their plates of food. Wife's $10.50 red enchilada was a big portion of cheese enchilada covered with red chili sauce, and an egg. Passed with flying colors, something not easy considering she lived in Santa Fe for 18 years. My $10 lazy tacos came with ground beef, shredded cheese, and red chili sauce. Very spicy. Like a beef patty cut into half for each of the two tacos. The tortilla was fabulous in texture and taste. After you are done, you have to bus your trays. The only thing they don't have you do is wipe off the table with a cleaning cloth, which is the only thing done by the waiter. 20% tip to wipe off the table?

Heard wonderful things about this place but left feeling meh. The over all taste was delicious. Went for breakfast and ordered the enchiladas with an egg. Assuming ( you know what they say about assuming) it came with potatoes and or beans, nope. Didn't realize there was no meat, it only had cheese. Menu didn't say either, just said enchiladas. Loved the decor and painting on the walls. Only service was the person that took my order. I had to get my own coffee, pick up my order and clean off my own table. I get it... playing off being in "your Mom's kitchen" but not knowing that a head of time and paying 20% tip at the register for no service...I would go back, as like I said the taste was delicious! At least I know what to expect and not to expect next time. read more

Yelp came through for us again. So glad we chose to have lunch, downtown, in this lively eatery. We arrived at 11:45 am and the place was hopping, with a line out the door. Waits are always a challenge, yet also say something about the lunch you are about to enjoy. If locals make this their go-to lunch spot, it's worth the wait. Located inside a commercial building, on the ground floor, My Mom's takes a little effort to find and parking may be an issue. We were on foot so it worked well for us. The line moved along quickly. We enjoyed watching the kitchen staff create their masterpieces while we waited. We were greeted with a smile and had our questions answered patiently. As a first timer, I didn't know what "Christmas sauce" meant: it's a combination of the green and red sauces and definitely a good choice. I wanted to try something new and definitely unique to New Mexican cuisine. The hostess recommended Mom's Little ball of love. I can't begin to describe the combination of flavors and textures in this dish. With the warm and incredibly soft homemade tortilla, it was heavenly comfort food with the zip of NM cuisine that I love. My husband's tastebuds were saturated with fire, so he chose the chicken fried chicken sandwich with green chili gravy. It was crunchy and combined interesting spices without being too hot. Good choice for him. We sat in the spacious, lovely dining room with that fantastic mural and views of the surrounding streets through sunny windows. Very nice dining experience. Home cooked food, creative entries, prepared quickly and with much joy and laughter. When staff enjoy what they do and locals support them, you've got a winning combination. read more

I attended a conference in downtown Albuquerque. Looked here on yelp and found this little place. Across from the safety center and police department. It's located on the main floor of a building. Lots of business people eating breakfast. Ordered from the friendly staff. Really nice and friendly. I ordered the pozole with a coffee. The pozole was amazing! I put a bit of tapatio and yum. Chef Marie Yninguez is one of my favorite chefs. When I go into My Mom's or Bocadillos I am greeted with warmth and genuine staff and Chef Marie! Whenever I go in I am greeted with warmth and friendliness. Everyone on staff is highly professional. I highly recommend this spot for anyone that was some delicious home style comida. A delicious treat if you're craving that authentic New Mexican home cooking! You can taste the Corazon and amor in every bite! Marie is a true culinary intuitive genius! Her playing and cooking is sensory delight! You are sure to finish every bite! I ordered the tortilla burger with green chile and it was cooked and presented artfully and delicious! Her homage biscuits snd jam were so tasty! The jam tasted fresh and was lightly sweetened, not overly sweet or heavy. The light chunky jam was more of a fresh topping for the biscuit, and I really enjoyed it! The art snd the homage paid to mother's inside was truly visible with the names and also with the mother Virgin Mary beautifully painted within! The tabletops were also impressively painted by Marie with meaning behind each painting as she shared telling us. I highly recommend and I will be back! read more

For a lunch place in downtown ABQ, you can't beat this. Mind you... you have to have more than just one lunch place right? I mean lunch happens everyday... so i'm not saying you should go here everyday... but it is a viable downtown lunch place, Ive only tried the Green chili stew (good, filling and comes with a tortilla the size of your head) and the green chili cheeseburger ( adjacent to fantastic with homemade chips). I know... green chili everything... but they have a lot of other things hose two just happen to be benchmark foods for me. They have some breakfast foods (green chili breakfast burrito?) but never tried it. read more

Surprisingly this restaurant is in a business district off the main thoroughfare. It's a colorful, self service business with an extensive menu. Customers order their food, pick it up, when finished place dishes in tubs. Great value for the quality, and portions. They make several different cakes that were homemade delicious. Food was worthwhile seeking out for casual lunch. read more

Ohhhhh my gosh!! Eat here now!!! Seriously SO delicious! We found this place on Yelp just by chance. It's amazing. So cute inside, everything screams New Mexican. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy but also added the chicken fried chicken and I had the Huevos Rancheros. Everything is full of flavor and truly does remind me of mom's house. I was staying near the convention center for a night before flying out, and wanted to get a good breakfast before heading to the airport. I showed up a bit before they opened, so glad I waited. I got the breakfast tostada, spicy goodness. The staff was so nice and welcoming. The area doesn't have much in the way of restaurants, so if you're staying near the convention center and want some local goodness, walk a few blocks to this place. Both the food and atmosphere are much better than the standard hotel situation. You won't regret it! One of those places I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Next time I'm in the area I'm going to make it a point to go back. read more

Simply put, this is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I had the chance to speak to the owner/chef before I ordered. I told her I was between the burro and the carnitas tacos. She directed me to the tacos and they were the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. It's so good, I don't ever want to post this for fear that it will get too busy and I won't be able to get in. read more

We were visiting from Colorado. This place is delicious! I've had A LOT of breakfast burritos in NM btw. We had the smothered green chili breakfast burrito with sausage. I also tried the red chile. All so good! They were making homemade tres leches cake when came in. We got a couple pieces to go. It was absolutely amazing. Everybody was super friendly. It was super clean. Chef Marie throws down in this kitchen!!!! she's always there to greet you and is always hard at work, ensuring that there is love in every bite. This place doesn't try to be fancy, it's good, classic, authentic New Mexican food at its finest. The best breakfast burritos, chile, and sandwiches. Everything you have here will be like a New Mexican mom or grandma cooked for you!! gotta stop in and support a local place full of love! Also the cookies and carrot cake are equally as tasty and not too sweet! read more

Finally tried this place. I went to the business that was here before (4th & Roma Cafe) about a hundred times, so I've been meaning to get here to try My Mom's for some time. I had the green chile chicken tacos. To my surprise, they were served on what I would call tostadas, flat. I would have much preferred them folded like a hard taco, which seems like an easy thing to do. Anyway, they were delicious. The green chile sauce on them was superb. The cheese and chicken were great compliments, and I loved the avocado slices and tomatoes on top. Really tasty. Good lunch portion size as well (2 tacos). Also had a side of beans, which was $2. Kinda ridiculous for basic pinto beans. They were good, but obviously a money-maker for them. I'm not sure I'd order those again. They also have calabacitas and some kind of potato as a side. I'll definitely go back, even if only for these tacos again. The reason I took so long to try this place is that their menu appeared to be populated almost entirely by what I would characterize as typical heavy New Mexican fare, which I am no fan of - especially for a work lunch. But this first dish was a pleasant surprise. It might even be worth 5 stars, but future visits will decide that. Recommended for now. read more

We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. After some discussion my wife said, "this is ridiculous, guess we won't be coming here again" the manager said "well I'll cancel your order and you can leave now". We said we didnt want her to cancel our order and she just said have a nice day. So we left. Sooo not the Vicks Vittles of the past.

There is indoor and outdoor seating, though in general the place is small-ish and can get crowded during busy times. Parking is also a bit of an adventure, but so is anywhere in that area. The staff is super friendly as well. All in all a great experience and I will be back. I can't believe it took me so long to get here in the first place!

Where does one even begin with an experience so thoroughly disappointing? From the moment we entered, it was clear that basic standards of hospitality were not a priority. We stood waiting, conspicuously so, while the individual who appeared to be the owner or manager remained wholly preoccupied with what seemed to be a circle of favored regulars. A simple acknowledgment would have sufficed; instead, we were made to feel invisible. When our order was finally taken, the delays that followed were excessive and inexcusable. We waited far longer than any reasonable customer should, only to be presented with food that failed to meet even minimal expectations. One dish arrived cold, and the calabacitas were not merely overcooked but unpleasantly soupy, lacking both texture and care in preparation. Attempting to resolve the issue, I politely asked the young server if my dish could be reheated. His response, an unmistakable eye roll, as unprofessional as it was dismissive. Such behavior alone would warrant concern, but what followed was even more troubling. When I brought the matter to the attention of the manager, her response, "well, no one has ever complained about him before", was not only defensive but fundamentally indifferent to the customer experience. It suggested a culture where accountability is absent and feedback is unwelcome. At every level, service, food quality, and management, this establishment demonstrated a striking disregard for its patrons. One is left to wonder whether there is any genuine interest in cultivating new customers or maintaining even the most basic standards of professionalism. I was looking for a place to eat with my coworkers and remembered this restaurant. While the portion sizes were generous, the quality of the food was disappointing. I ordered a BLT, and the bacon tasted old and rancid. It seemed like they had added a lot of mayo to mask the flavor. The food took a while to arrive, and while some of my coworkers thought it was okay, no one was particularly impressed. After this experience, I'm not sure if I want to return. read more
