However, I wanted to leave my review for new patients such as myself or even those preparing for their first upcoming surgery. I did pay out of pocket and I won't lie and say that it was a hefty price!! Front desk staff will state they do NOT do payment plans if you are uninsured however Daisha (billing dept) was so incredibly sweet and made an arrangement with my finance, we split the cost in half so we paid a week pre op, and then I paid my remaining today! My arrival time was 7:00AM, I checked in by 6:40am, and was called back not long after checking in, I want to say maybe 20 mins max! My pre op nurse(s) were Trish and Leah, omg they both really eased my anxiety, and had such wonderful bedside manner, they made me feel as if I was chatting with family, they promptly got me prepared for surgery by administering my IV, giving me Tylenol beforehand, explaining what I needed to do such as a provide a urine sample, get undressed, check my vitals etc. Leah provided additional comfort by setting the lights down as the beds are laid out in a row outside of the operating room, but curtains are all around to give privacy! Dr. Steehler popped in not long after to go over my procedure, answer questions, as well as discussing medicine aftercare and providing overall reassurance Anesthesiologist Dr. Dobson, did the same as well, asking my medical history, elaborating on the type of medicines I'd be actively given while under and what they do he was kind but more direct simply a doctor who has been doing this for quite a while I could tell, so easy work for him but nice nonetheless! I don't recall seeing him after he came by pre op but I believe he was in the op room. My OR NURSE Shanta was very nice as well as she wheeled me into the operating room, I can't recall the name of the woman I just know she was the anesthesiologist nurse (Asian woman) OMG she was amazing she really made my experience so relaxing as she administered the anxiety medication pre op before I got wheeled in the op room, both she and Shanta were at either side of my bed next to my head. All I remember was Shanta providing oxygen, and the very pretty anesthesiologist nurse, complimenting my dumpling stuffed animal, and next thing I know we were talking about Labubu's which I collect and love as well, the irony of that was just great because she really helped me drift peacefully, and it just created a bond of trust being in her care! After that next thing I know I'm awake in the observation room post op. I cried softly to myself as I woke up I wasn't in excruciating pain or anything I think just the nerves of having my first surgery and successfully doing it, everyone was right it really felt like the best nap, as if I slept on a cloud. Nurses Marlynn, and Susan were also very sweet and gentle with me, they monitored me for 15 min until I was discharged. Sorry ladies as I was out of it and processing going through my surgery.. but I appreciate your reassurance, and care as I was monitored and Susan for coming in clutch the extra banana ice pop! If you reached up to this point, I hope I've reassured anyone who is nervous! The staff is excellent in care, and bedside manner. They made me feel safe, validated in my fears, and provided care ensuring I was comfortable and safe all throughout. The facility is well maintained and clean as well! Thank you university surgical center, should I ever need another surgery I hope to be treated here.

Now hubby is out of meds and we've called the office for a week. No answer. Ever. Went there today and they're closed. Something isn't right. Stay away.

Orlando Counseling Services is an excellent center to receive professional therapy care from. The…read moreadministrative assistants (Julie and Victoria) are very responsive and helpful and do a great job of taking care of the business end of receiving therapy. If they don't answer your call right away, their return call to help you is always in a reasonably short amount of time. I see two therapists from Orlando Counseling Services (Amy Valentino for individual therapy and Makenzie Moffett for family therapy) and I am impressed with both of them. Amy is by far the best individual therapist I have ever had and I have been in therapy on and off for almost 40 years. Amy respects my dignity and self-actualization as a client; is not so arrogant to think she knows better than me as to what I should do with my own life; acts as a guide to make observations about things I can think about to make better decisions about myself; and is incredibly accommodating and generous with her time and energy to show care and concern for me and my mental and emotional well-being. As for Makenzie, she is very skillful at making sure my mother and I are both heard during our family therapy sessions and that neither one of us dominates the sessions and that we both get what we need individually and together from our sessions. She also works hard to provide additional resources to help both my mother and I based on what comes up in our family sessions. However, an interaction between Ms. Kimberly (the Adm assistant) and I has forced me to seek services else where. She literally insulted me over the phone regarding a very sensitive matter. It was very unprofessional, unkind, and unnecessary. She was out of line and saw no issue with her inappropriate statement. To add insult to injury she screened my calls when I made the attempt to call back (I ended the call after she insulted me). She purposely decline my call 4 times. On the 5th call she picked up and continued to address me in a unprofessional manner. I am both shocked and disappointed.

Then i asked them send it to my insurance company and I will pay the negotiated rate via the insurance company's portal like i do for all other healthcare bills, that way the money comes out of my HSA acct. However, they insisted I pay them via CC over the phone right then. And all this for $20 only. yes 20 bucks. Now it was a matter of principle. They spent obscene amount of time arguing w/me on multiple phones over 3 days. Meanwhile, logged into the Insurance company portal but the portal is programmed to go back no more the 12 mos. I know I have no outstanding bills of any kind then how could i miss. I called the Insurance company and they said they will research and let me know if 2-3 days. Meanwhile, they called me everyday for 3 days for the$20. Day 3 United Health rep called and conferenced in their payment processing company InstaMed. Instamed confirmed they electronically sent the $20 and change to their back that was processed and cleared. And look at this co-incidence --while I'm on the phone the doc office called again for their $20, I am quickly merged the call into my current call w/United+Instamed. InstaMed clarified to the Doc's office manager re. they payment being sent and confirmed their back' acknowledgment. Doc's office still insisted on evidence from Instamed, which they faxed in the next 10m. This docs' office is totally dishonest and double bill threatening and probably collecting from unsuspecting poor and ppl that may not have the resources or ability to fight. I work for a fortune 10 company as a IT leadership so I was well equipped to fight.. watch out for this practice. You been warned!

The also have a lab in office which makes it very convenient for the patient. i have been seeing Dr Hernandez for years and feel she is the best Doctor I have met. I had an appointment with Dr. Deogenes De Leon, a Pulmonologist with AdventHealth, after I was…read morefirst instructed to have a PET scan done by Antholeth Leckie, APRN, a wonderful member of his team. The PET scan was for the pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, and the mass on my lung, that I was diagnosed with nearly 6 weeks prior to my appointment with Dr. De Leon. At my appointment, Dr. De Leon was very kind, patient, thorough, skilled, knowledgeable, and understanding. Dr. De Leon was everything that I love about the medical team with AdventHealth medical group. If you were not aware, AdventHealth medical group is a Christian medical group. They offer cutting edge medical care, that focuses on treating the whole body and mind. They even provide patients with somebody that can pray with them upon request. Their hospitals are like stepping into a luxury resort and spa, that are THAT beautiful. Their patient health portal is the nicest experience that I've ever had with a medical health portal. My mother accompanied me to my appointment and Dr. De Leon even went as far as to go through the PET scan, on his computer, frame by frame, while explaining everything that we were seeing at the same time. At my appointment Dr. De Leon first decided that he wanted to do a biopsy on the mass in my lungs, because he felt the rounded shape of the mass was suspicious. After talking with the doctor who Dr. De Leon wanted to perform the initial biopsy, Dr. De Leon called me back into his office, as he had decided on a change in plans. Once I was back in Dr. De Leon's office, he explained that had spoken to the other doctor, who had told him that the mass in my lung was in a very difficult place to perform a biopsy, and it could be more dangerous to my health for me to go through the biopsy procedure at that time. Dr. De Leon decided it would best to repeat the PET scan in 3 months, and have a follow up visit with him after I have the PET scan. I was very happy with his decision, and I felt at peace knowing that I was in such very good hands with Dr. De Leon, my Pulmonologist, and with all of the other members of the medical team at AdventHealth who have treated me.
