My family and I really enjoyed our My Sydney Detour! Richard arrived at our hotel right on time with his snazzy Holden. Simply touring Sydney in this vintage car made our trip! Richard kept us entertained in between tour stops with fun facts and the historical background of Sydney/Australia. Most importantly, I felt we got a deeper understanding about the aboriginal culture. We were able to take a look inside Richard's home, where we met his lovely wife and mother, and saw beautiful aboriginal themed art pieces. We visited several lesser known parts of Sydney and in particular enjoyed a Bay frequented by locals. Overall we had a wonderful time and learned a lot about Sydney. I Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable Sydney tour experience! read more

My Sydney Detour is the only way to 'Become a local in a day!'. Ideal for domestic or international travellers alike, we uncover the three main elements that define Sydney; the city, the beach and the bush all in one unforgettable experience!
History
Established in 2009.
During a solo, 14-month journey through Latin America in 2007-2008, Richard planned how he was going to shape the new era of tour operators in Sydney. Travelling exclusively overland, Richard travelled through 16 countries and along the entire length of the Andes, avoiding the "Gringo" trail where he could, he developed his own style of travelling that has translated into the heart of My Sydney Detour.
