Made an appointment after hours due to an emergency issue. They were able to get me in early the next day. I was nervous because I am not a fan of the dentist office in general and hadn't been in years. First off the way they handle the covid protocol is easy and feels very safe. I have seen some comments about the front desk staff and I didn't experience that. They were friendly efficient and very helpful. The techs were knowledgeable. The facility was spotless and the equipment seemed so high tech. Dr Patel was patient, professional and compassionate. I admitted to having not been in to the dentist is years. She acknowledged and moved on. No long lectures or judgement. She took the time to go over all the issues and options available to me, with no pressure at all. Then before any work, a tech came in to review all the recommended charges and breakdowns of each, making sure I knew what was happening and no surprises. Andy the dental hygienist was so friendly and helpful as well. Very knowledgeable and through. At the end of the visit, I was half expecting a surprise charge and there was none. I don't enjoy going to the dentist, but I will gladly be back and on a regular schedule. This place is great! read more

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this dental office. I originally went in for a routine cleaning, and during that appointment the dentist reminded me that I needed to replace my crown. Trusting the office, I immediately scheduled the procedure. What was never disclosed to me was that the dentist who prepared the crown would be out of the office for almost the entire month of June and was apparently the ONLY dentist allowed to place the permanent crown once it arrived. While in Dallas caring for my mother after her stroke, my temporary crown broke. I had to drive 3.5 hours back to Austin just to have another temporary crown placed -- despite the fact that my permanent crown was already in the office and ready. I was told another dentist could not place it because the original dentist was unavailable. I then had to immediately drive back to Dallas after that Saturday appointment, only for the second temporary crown to break the very next day. The office had provided an "extra" temporary crown in case that happened, but when I attempted to use it, it did not fit properly. I called the office first thing Monday morning. Today is Wednesday, and I still have not received a call back from the office manager. I now have to make yet another 3.5-hour drive back to Austin just to get another temporary crown, while being told the dentist cannot see me until next week -- even though my permanent crown is sitting there ready. What has been most upsetting is the complete lack of compassion and flexibility from the office manager. I explained multiple times that I am in Dallas helping care for my mother after a stroke, yet there seemed to be no concern whatsoever for the hardship this situation has caused. Dental work is stressful enough without having to deal with poor communication, lack of transparency, repeated temporary crown failures, and an office that seems unwilling to work with patients facing difficult personal circumstances. read more

Update: I had to push the scheduler to get a different doctor to see me for adjusting the crown and they gave me bad news. Turns out that all that drilling and messing around inflamed my tooth root- I had to get a root canal to get rid of the pain, and the crown had to be remade. Now, thankfully I was able to fight with the billing department over the cost. But I shouldn't have had to go through all of this in the first place, and neither should ANYONE else. Go anywhere else for your dental needs. read more

Edited after treatment. Treatment is not that fair and general waiting time is sooo long. I got this filling done last year, but it keeps souring. they recalibrated it three times. In the meanwhile another Dr refer me to a root canal specialist, which I don't think I should do. Third time they told me the filling is not done well at first and they have to redo it. I agreed, however I got this tooth sensitivity all the time afterwards. Never like it used to be. And I even got TMJ issue after the treatment, which they denied is a dental issue at first. After the retreatment, my TMJ issue disappeared! So obviously it's to do with the filling! And they even falsely billed me for this retreatment. I have to call and resolve this. Don't believe them unless it's a regular cleaning. Pros is that they explain prices and statements well. read more

So I created yelp account just to talk about this experience. I had called them because I thought I had an appointment with them, this was my bad, I was thinking of the wrong dentist, entirely my fault. The staff were awesome, dispite the confusion they still set me up for an appointment. Now I don't have the best dental health, I've got quite a few issues that I need to fix but the biggest thing was taking out this wisdom tooth that needed to be out last month. I showed up, again everyone was friendly, I tried to do the x ray but I kept gagging. I was sat in a chair and I was waiting for the dentist. This is where the experience went sour. Started friendly but then got kinda hostile. I'm usually a really chill dude, but I feel like this man came in for a fight. He told me that because I gagged during the x ray, they would have to put me under for a wisdom tooth extraction. I explained that I understand that I gagged but I already had the other wisdom tooth extracted with some numbing agent, it took like 5 minutes, there were no issues. He kept saying that there would be issues if I threw up. Go under was my only option for a wisdom tooth extraction. This felt insane but eventually we decided to keep going. I'm sitting for another 15 minutes or so and then the woman I spoke to on the phone comes into the room and lets me know that since I wasn't sold on the going under idea that they wouldn't be able to work with me. I walked out and left. I'll be completely honest, there was a mix up on my end in the beginning, and for that I do apologize about but when I got there, I was nothing but friendly. There are very few people that I can't get along with but that dentis though, I don't even remember what his name was but that dude is cold, talks in circles and was unwilling to listen to me. Staff 10/10, Goblin Dentist 0/10 Update: went to another dentist, fantastic experience. The doctor agreed with me that all we would need is numbing agent and we could get that wisdom tooth. They also looked at the cavity I have on my front tooth and said that a filling and deep cleaning is that would be needed. MyDental at Tech Ridge is a shady business. read more

They reviewed the recording of the previous call and explained there was a misunderstanding on the part of the scheduler (I believe she misinterpreted my requested as me having a contagious infection rather trying to protect from one). Very polite rep offered me an explanation and explained the precautions they are willing to offer. I was happy to schedule and plan to see them soon. Kudos to the practice for turning this around to a positive experience. ---- I asked if the people in the room with me could mask (NO ONE ELSE). I did not want to impose on the front office, other patients - no one except those with me in the exam room. I was told to go elsewhere, they could not accommodate me bc they are a large office with many patients. What? Just put on a mask when you are breathing directly into my face. I have waited for months to get a crown on my new implant. This morning I went to the appointment shown on the appointment card pictured with this comment and I was told my appointment was on the 14th! This brought my vacation plans to a halt and is really beyond an inconvenience becoming an actual disruption to a long planned departure. I probably should have expected getting dissed like this after my last visit when the staff forgot to get me to sign the consent form until AFTER the procedure when they sent it to me with a request that I sign. After three years, I am leaving My Dental! It's not the care from the treatment team, they are fantastic! It's the front office that has got me grinding my teeth. They are not on the ball and they don't acknowledge their errors. Twice now, my family and I have had issues trying to get post procedure Rx fulfillment, when we needed the medicine most, we ended up doing without. There were no follow up communications to address our physical comfort in these times. I don't feel welcomed, am greeted with neutral enthusiasm and there is little to no eye contact. I will start with my experience going into there. The young lady checking me in was very nice. I explained I have had very bad experiences at dental offices which is why I don't like going to new dental places. The dentist was rude, cold, and aloof. She told me I had a infection on my tonsils that was not related to my wisdom teeth growing and when I went to my doctor they said the opposite. Not only that the dentist rushed me out didn't explain care options and cut me off when I was going to ask questions. I got a call from the receptionist in May the week of the 21st explaining that my pay without insurance would be $3,000 flat but with 20% off would be $2,400. I was waiting til I had my insurance so I could get a better quote. Once I got my insurance I called them a week ago and gave them my new insurance information to where I was told I would be contacted the next day. I was called a week later. I was informed that I would be paying $2,000 for the extraction and asked to reiterate how much it would be without insurance and I was told it would be 33,000. I asked again if it would be either $3,300 or $33,000. They again confirmed $33,00. Even if it was $ 3,300 they changed the pricing of my procedure.(I'm pretty sure they didn't mean $33,000 but still you should not misinform people like that considering that we are talking about people's money). I am disappointed since I have seen nothing but good reviews for this place and I was super excited to come in to have my mind changed. I just don't understand why I am having numbers changed for the pricing, treated poorly, and not being contacted at a time that was given. Even the lady checking my out for my consult was surprised that the dentist didn't talk about after care. I don't know what more there is to say other than to be careful because a lot of people have had great experiences here and the reviews say so. I went to a different location for my first dentist appointment in an embarrassingly long time. The staff there was very kind, and when they noticed my wisdom teeth removal was more complicated than the normal extraction, they referred my to their in-house surgeon at this location. They called and explained that they would have to do a bone graft in addition to the removal of three teeth, and I would be awake for the surgery. When I referenced their website that said they would happily do sedations for special circumstances, they refused and said "we don't do that anymore, and that was more for children anyway". I explained in great detail how my body doesn't take to numbing medication and I had severe anxiety, and the receptionists solution was to go ahead with the appointment, and if I felt any pain then they could refer me to someone else. Not only was the websites false advertising very disappointing, the way she addresses my concerns was cold and condescending. It was very upsetting. Update: after going to a different oral surgeon, they confirmed that the stuff MyDental said was ridiculous. I don't need all the extra stuff they said I did and they thought it was insane that they refused to sedate for a wisdom tooth surgery. read more

During my checkup we discovered I had a cavity - there was a scheduling conflict and the staff was super flexible with getting me back in same day to get it fixed. Thia place.. does not listen to you, I understand it and s a business and they want to take your money, I had a loose tooth a canine in fact that I need removed , when I went online I stated this was for a tooth removal, I received a call on Monday verifying my appointment. I asked what my deductable would be for a tooth removal,but the scheduler did not know and could not reach out to anyone who did, Wednesday I came in and filled out the paperwork..I had every intention of starting to use them more as I have neglected my teeth for years. I once again asked the intake what would my deductable be and they said zero.. I asked if that includes getting my tooth pulled.. and she said I am here for an exam and a cleaning and a tooth pull wouls be at the Dr's discretion... I stated why I signed up .. and she said we so not see this on her computer.. I said cancel the appointment .. not a good sign for a new patient.. so fuck this place.. I was recently in for a comprehensive exam and a cleaning. The front desk there was very friendly and was nice enough to offer a water. After I completed my new patient paperwork I was taken back by an amazing dental assistant that took my x-rays and later seated me with Dr. Patel. Everything in the room was high tech and had a tv right in front of me to watch so I didn't have to sit staring off into space. The doctor and the assistant were very clear on describing what procedures I needed to get done and how I could take care of my dental hygiene without being too harsh. Over all, this was an amazing experience and I highly recommend to anyone. They see children and adults! Please check them out, you won't be disappointed. read more

I received a balance due of $122.00 on October 27. Thought that was odd considering I pay same day of service. I call Oct 27 and am not about to get in touch with billing but am told a dental ledger statement can be emailed to me until billing can call me. The emailed ledger amount still did not make sense to me. From oct 27-nov 6 I called every business to be told "the manager is still trying to contact billing" "no we cannot give you billing or our manger's number". I also explained emailed updates are great too on the issue because I keep getting automated text and emailed reminders that I have a balance not yet paid. Nov 8 I get in touch with my dental insurance, together we find out for one of the months Mydental did not file a claim. I send over the information to the office with no response. 2 days or so later I call and ask if they have seen the emailed message that states a claim on Mydentals behalf was not filed. I am met with the same response from front desk of "still can't contact billing" "my manager will call you". I am disappointed of the billing services and unresponsive customer service I have currently been receiving. read more

We take our 2-year old to MyDental. The clinic is very clean, the equipment modern, and the child waiting room a big plus! All the staff, from the reception to the dental assistant, to the doctor herself are gentle and extremely patient. Of the dentists we have taken our little one previously, this dentist is better than even the dedicated pediatric dental clinics. Her extended knowledge of pediatric dentistry is obvious. At the end of the visit our little one gets her toothbrush accessory packet and balloon, so she usually walks out considerably happy. Our insurance is never an issue, they saved our info on first visit and now we just show up, all is taken care of. I absolutely recommend this clinic to child and adult alike, it's definitely an upscale dental experience! read more
