I came in very excited to look at vehicles. I started by browsing the selection outside. There was a Honda civic that caught my attention. I quickly notice that there was no pricing information. None of the cars in the parking lot! I was a little bit surprise. I walked inside the dealership to get more information. But also let me try the cars right? Wrong all the doors are locked inside the showroom. Thats ok I will wait for a sales agents... even inside no pricing information. And no sales agent. I came on a Friday morning maybe thats why? There was two couple looking at the different models and people that looked like they came for maintenance service. I walked around trying to find information (maybe a brochure) or a sale agent. Looked on the windows, desks and the only pricing information was the one for extended warranty. I think I will have better luck online finding the information. read more

How many chances should you give a car dealership before moving on to another one? I made a telephone reservation for my wife's car to have its routine maintenance and a check-up done at Myers Barrhaven Toyota. Over the phone I provided the attendant with the model, year and mileage for the car being serviced. On the day of my wife's appointment, she brought her car to Myers Barrhaven Toyota on Strandherd Drive. Upon arrival my wife checked in with a service advisor. Since my wife works from home she has only driven about 8,000 kms during the past two years. The service advisor mocked my wife by saying, "I was expecting a vehicle with 36,000 kms". What was the purpose of this crude comment.? My wife's car was in the Myers Barrhaven Toyota garage for over three hours. From where my wife was sitting she could see her vehicle being worked on through the viewing window. A technician only worked on her vehicle for less than an hour. The service was a #3, which with taxes cost almost $350.00. When my wife's vehicle was ready she went and paid for the service. My wife asked the Service Advisor, "Is everything okay with my car?" The Service Advisor replied, "It is now! All the tires were low. They have been topped up to the correct pressure." My wife was horrified and rightly so. I had checked her tires with a quality air pressure gauge and all were within the specified air pressure range. Also, the low air pressure warning sensor light wasn't activated in her car. So why did the Service Advisor try to scare my wife with his unfounded and derogatory comments? (I do know that many car dealerships are now putting in an extra 2 or 3 PSI of air pressure into tires, above the recommended limit, to prevent the tire pressure warning light from being activated. It doesn't mean a vehicle has low air pressure in its tires, because air is added by a Technician to keep a warning light from eventually turning on.) Recently, I went to buy a new high-end car for myself at Myers Barrhaven Toyota. I was set-up with a salesman and we briefly looked at the exterior of one car together. After about 5 minutes, this salesman was getting very impatient. He asked, "How much of a trade-in do you want for your vehicle?" "How are you going to pay for the car?" "Are you ready for a new car today?" "Are you planning to buy a car or lease?" I replied, "I'm planning to buy a car." The salesman crudely said, "You have to lease. It's the same thing!" Getting nowhere with this salesman, I walked out of the dealership without having a chance to look at any other vehicles on display." When I'm spending my hard-earned money, I want to be treated respectfully. Also, I don't like being rushed when making a big decision. Given my experiences, I will no longer give any future business to Myers Barrhaven Toyota. Also, I can't in any way recommend this dealership to any existing or potential new customers. This dealership uses aggressive and manipulative sales tactics. Do not patronize this business: they will rip off and take advantage of anyone they can. During the preliminary visit, the middle-aged saleswoman was pushy. She did not listen or give us any room to think. She badgered us into agreeing on a vehicle we were not totally sold on by guaranteeing a particular payment plan. On the day of the sale we came in to sign the paperwork and they tried to DOUBLE the weekly payments. When we said this was not the agreement she pretended to not recall the conversation she'd had with us 2 days prior. THE BLONDE SALESWOMAN LIED TO OUR FACES. When she got caught she did not express remorse or try to remedy the situation. She simply tried to escape accountability. It was absolutely disgusting to watch her try to take advantage of us and try to slip out of it when caught. The dealership does not want to take accountability for their terrible treatment. Avoid this place at all costs. Seriously. Honestly, a sketchy craigslist sale would be more reliable than barrhaven toyota. read more

I visited this dealer May 2022 to buy a new Toyota Sienna. The salesman I spoke to told me that I had to wait 12 months to be able to get the new Sienna. This was the period their manager told them that exact day. He told me that this period could take up to 15 months. Nevertheless, I accepted and left after paying a $500 deposit. Yes, today exactly it has been 15 months since that day and, do you know what happened in this period? Nothing. I was neither called once nor informed in any way. When I contacted them to ask about my order, maybe at that time they realized that such a person was in the car queue. They told me that I had to wait about another 18 months for the car, as if I hadn't waited for the delivery time they promised. Their only explanation was it is a global issue. So, I told him that I was in the US just last week and there weren't any problems, that everyone could go to the Toyota dealer and get the car they wanted right away. This time he told me Toyota is following a very different policy in the US than in Canada. Then I told him some people who ordered another car after me already got their cars and how that was possible, he couldn't give me a proper answer. As a result, when I said they told me to wait 15 months for this car, but didn't keep your promise, this time he told me that the salesman gets a bonus every time they sell a car, so that salesman lied to us. That person is not working there anymore, and it is very easy to blame any body who is not there. How I can know that the manager didn't make them to say that time. So according to him everyone but the manager and the company is at fault, and the manager and the company did nothing wrong at all. This company stole at least 15 months from me. If they had told me that I had to wait 2.5 years for the car when I went to them 15 months ago, I would have gone to another Toyota dealer that would keep their promise or maybe I would leave Toyota, which I hadn't given up for 17 years, and buy a different brand of car. I'm sharing my bad experience here because I don't think it's possible to do business with such a dishonest and insincere company where there are many lies, who stole my 15 months. I also got my deposit back and let them know I would never be doing business with them again. Now I'm looking for a trustworthy Toyota dealer to buy a new car. read more

Took my car in for intermittent issues with engine light and sudden loss if acceleration power. $450 later I was told the wiring had to be fixed abd that this would solve my issue. A couple of weeks after and my check engine light is back on and my car runs worse than ever. I have to skip 3rd gear entirely sometimes because there isn't any power when I shift into gear and my car regularly shakes and rumbles (suspected misfiring piston). They also tried to convince me that the tire pressure light (on because my winter tires don't have sensors) was an indication of a speed sensor issue and ABS break issue. I feel financially taken advantage of and still have a car that doesn't work. I need to get my car fixed but I don't trust the dealership enough to take my car back and am unsure where else to go read more

Review is for the service side ONLY! My one and only experience with the sales side was pushy and condescending, so let's not even go there. The service team is great. They are pretty honest when it comes to what my car needs, and they are really accommodating with my unusual schedule. They also have a fantastic shuttle service - I know almost all service departments have shuttles, but they usually have two drivers on call at all times, and I have never really had to wait to get home. Also, they are happy to drop me elsewhere depending on what I need to get done such as: go to the gym! They also offer on-site tire storage - super useful! read more

They got me in, shuttled me back to my work, picked me up after my work and away I went! They also found that my regular mechanic wasn't servicing the recommended things at the kilomètres it should have been. Which was appreciated. With service like this, I recommend. read more

I hope you get to read this before its too late. All other reviews on this dealership online are paid for and curated by a private for profit company! Where to begin, I went to see a vehicle here. Wow was I surprised. They use very simple tactics to gain your trust, and I'm sure most people fall for it. It's really bad when a customer knows more about the products they sell then the actual sales people. They threw every car salesman tactic at me to rush me into a purchase, I was not impressed. I found both the sales people and management to be abrupt and pushy, Just to get you to sign that bill of sale. Even going so far as to lie right to your face (multiple times), just saying what ever they can to lock you in to the purchase. If you are forced to go here, proceed with caution. These people left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will never return or even go to a major car dealer again. I rather buy a lemon from a private car dealer than buy a vehicle from these people. read more

After negotiating with several dealerships, we decided to buy a new Highlander from them. The salesmen (Sam) was extremely helpful and honest. The only thing we didn't like is that their "financial advisor " was trying to convince us to buy additional things we don't need, but that's what happens in other dealerships as well. Leased a new Corolla from them in 2019 and put up with the usual up selling of rust proofing etc. which is expected as this was not my first rodeo. I did purchase the extended warranty due to our travel history pre-covid. Included in that warranty was all factory recommended service for the first three years and the seasonal tire change over which would normally be well over $750 if you had to pay for each of the six visits. When it came time to do the first major service which included a full brake service, they simply changed the oil. A complete and utter rip off and my complaint went unanswered. I dropped my car off to have a FOB programmed and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Frankie B. made the appointment on my behalf and arranged a loaner car so that I could carry on with my day. He even helped me transfer some personal items between the vehicles. Frankie B. was also the sales agent through whom I purchased the car (used) and I found him both knowledgeable and pleasant in comparison to the higher pressure sales tactics you experience at some dealerships. read more
