It was the difference between being responsible and being nice, which is whole worlds of difference to a dog without a home. A ton of dogs, in good health, and with a pair of cool little outdoor areas where the dogs are walked during the day, and where folks looking to adopt can go outside with them. They even have personality profiles for the animals, whether or not they're "good with" other dogs, cats, children. They have little personality tag-lines too like "playful" or "calm." We're looking at possibly adopting a companion for our dog, and I think there's a good chance that if we did decide to go for it, this is the first place we would come back to.

the llittle rock animal village and the director tracy roark have been holding my dogs my dogs for…read moreover 6 weeks denying me every time i tried to reclaim them. i had a lady drive from memphis to try to reclsimthemper his instructions someone else needed to pick them up. she toldhimshe was going to meeet meat ahoteloutsside the ccity andturnthem over to me and i ws taking them ontho newe orleans.. he told her she would have to drive to new orleans and refused torlease them.. he has no scope of authority to do so uneder capter 6 of the locl ordanices regarding dogs.. my dogs are friendly and shy.. i have not recieved anything inwriting from the aninmal village that gives me tthe procedure to have my dogs released i had to foaia jsut to geet the intake recrds, they are not deemed to be aggreessive nor damgerous, tet he has continuesd to deny any attemp for me to reclaim themby any means for weeks. the lady frommemphis was called into a condference roomby lady to meet with a man who she identified as tracy roark, the man was black, tracy roark is white. my roark had previously deemed my11 1/2 year old dog as not a pit bull, he has been impounded before and released wthnot accusatin of being a pit bull, wheni challenged himonthe her snarld at me, "wll he is now" . tracy roark has a grudge againtr ,e as he wrote me seeral citation , 6 infact wihtout haing ever been onmy property, ia fact i brought to light inthe court hearingonthe citations.. he also told me had i kept my neighborer dog who had to keep her dog at the old address until her fence was fnished at her new address, with her land lord permission. that if i had of kept the dog he would ahve chared me with " cruelty to animals. for wht i built the dog a dog house and wwhile ther noticed he aeemed to have a skin condition.. i spoke with his owndr when i finished the dog house and told mher it looks like he needs to go to the vet. telling me she didnt have the fund to take him to the vet, i offered to take tehm to my vet and paid the bill for the visit. tracy roark does not need to be in charge of anything, he is not capable of listening to word anyone says, how dare he tel me he woud chare me with animal cruelty for omingto the lrav to provide the informatin i had about the seized dog who id paid and transported to thevet as well as built him a heated dog house.. ** here is the little rock city ordinance regarding potential dangerous breed.. aka chili only became subject to their ordinance after 11 1/2 years and being impounded and released with no thing mentioned about him being a pit bull on 2 occasions. enforcement.(1)dangerous breed regulation violations. failure to comply with any potentially dangerous breed registration requirement or permit condition within the allotted ten (10) day time period shall constitute a violation of this chapter and may result in the issuance of a citation and a warrant to seize the "owner's dog if it is not removed from the city limits pending adjudication of the citation." nothing about the owner can not reclaim him or about some one having to drive the dog to new orleans other than me

I had a great experience at this humane society. They let our dog come and interact with another…read morepotential adoption. The trainers were really nice. There was a manger who wasn't very friendly that is why there is a one star removed. Now I am way behind in my list of places to review so that person may not even work there anymore. This was two years ago. Make sure you call to see if the dog you want is still available if you can't make it in. Most get adopted fast. I will definitely go here to find my next adoption.

Our family has been trying to adopt a cat for the last two months and was getting the run around or…read moreno replies from local rescue groups. We saw a beautiful cat on a local site linked to Rock City. In all honesty we thought it might be a scam because who the heck would transport a rescue car from Arkansas to New York City? The passionate volunteers at Rock City Rescue would of course! Meeting the drivers you can tell right away they genuinely want to help these beautiful creatures. After we were approved to adopt, they set up a group Facebook chat with his foster mom where we got some basic details. The foster mom sounded awesome (We almost felt bad to take Earl Grey away from what sounds like an amazing home). We picked up Earl Grey today from an agreed upon pick up point along their drop off route (on the way to Maine, they provided updated arrival times via group Facebook chat), swapped documents, the adoption fee and off we went in less than 10minutes. From the moment he hoped into the carrier he was purring, engaging and social. It was plain he knew love and was not afraid(Thanks B!). He's taken to everybody in our household so well. He even lets my two year old daughter hug him which really surprised me. Overall the process is a bit scattered (I can only imagine how many emails they process) but once it got on its way, it went really fast(about a week). Thank you so much Rock City Rescue for giving us our newest family member. He will be loved very much

It didn't work out for they were not as compatible as hoped. The lady there was so nice and helpful in trying to introduce my dog to others and he just showed his ass the whole time. I wished that I could have afforded to make a donation to help support the rescue. I could see this lady really cares about all the cats and dogs and is working hard to try and save their live. So if anyone is looking for a new family member or can donate,I encourage you to consider this rescue. It did not work out for me but I know it's worth a visit to meet the beautiful friends there animal and human. Also knowing there are countless millions of animals in rescues and kill shelters at the same time there are puppy mills and unprofessional breeders profiting from making it harder for those who are trying to help.
