Sampled a lot of different foods. Cheeses with truffles. Stuffed olives. Pickles. Pesto. Small squares of bread covered with a thin layer on jam.,Local honey. The pastries and breads looked so good. We don't eat pork, but there were so many types of salami and sausages. There is also a fish market. We ended up trying several types of honey. The market dates back to the 1890s when it was housed in an iron and glass domed building. That building was destroyed when the allies firestorm bombed Frankfurt in March 1944. The market reopened in 1954. Many sellers have sold goods and produce at the market from generation to generation. A great place to explore while In Frankfurt.

It's a little tough to tell where the entrance is, but we eventually figured it out. Once you walk into this indoor food market, you'll see a whole host of vendors selling pretty much everything under the sun. You'll see produce (fruits and vegetables), nuts, sweets, and much more. You'll also find hot food including German sausage, pizza, and more. If you come hungry, you're not going to be able to resist having some food and buying more than you should while you're there. It's kind of like going to a grocery store hungry. The food hall is on two levels. You'll find friendly vendors. Some offer free samples. I only bought a German sausage and some bread from two lovely German grandmothers. They were smiling, asked me questions about myself, and were a joy. What a cute pair! And the sausage was quite tasty (they have five or so for you to choose from). The prices seem reasonable across the board, even though I didn't buy much.

The service is friendly, although usually seems like it's in the weeds. I typically go here to write or gather inspiration for articles as I am a nature lover and like being amidst the gardens and flora. Their waffles are top notch and I literally think they put something in them that has me craving them while just sitting at home doing nothing. They are SO dang good. They also serve good coffee (currently using beans roasted at Backyard) and some tasty wine. My only complaint about Goose is that the service could really be better. I know they often get an influx from the elderly population perusing the Palmengarten, but it can often be a mess. Since I go here often, I know the times to hit it up for a smaller influx of people, but it still seems disorganized. Nevertheless, I forget about all of this once I take a bite of my salted caramel waffle and coffee. I am not sure what is going on there with Sunday traffic lately. I went the other day and it was only for customers paying for Palmengarten. So, beware. Any other day of the week one does not need to pay to go here.

However, the price gouging is incredible! These poor germans are paying three times as much for a box of cereal that is found in an american grocery store. Its like a "designer" food shop. You want it, so you'll pay the 300% mark-up. They have cereal, candy, beer, popcorn, chocolate, soda, etc.. I think they even have things you can't find in a typical American military market! Just go and see for yourself, just be willing to pay and arm and a leg!

I'm not sure if they always have an outdoor option, but they did the night we walked by and I'm sure glad we stopped. Now, first of all I was lured in by the smells of brats cooking, then hooked by the sight of them. Once I saw they also had beer on tap I was sold. I was a bit nervous because I literally speak no German, but I was assisted by a friendly local in line and then found out that the staff all speaks fluent English, and is actually insanely friendly. After some chatting I got what I was looking for which was a brat, some fries, and a solid German beer. Overall the brat was amazing, in part due to the homemade bun, and the beer was thirst quenching. The fries were actually really basic and nothing to write home about, but I'm landing on five stars for this place because I did not find any servers that were more friendly than the folks working at this sausage stand, and I'd absolutely recommend going back to this place if you're looking for a satisfying and affordable meal in Frankfurt.

But nevertheless, they have it all. In Venos you can find loads of fresh fish... anything from swordfish to mackerel to clams to different varieties of squid. They have meats from Namibia and Botswana, New Zealand lamb, Australian beef, American beef, etc etc. It is kind of exciting even though I don't really eat meat. After a long day of traveling and going to be in Europe for 2 weeks this allowed us to get waters, wine, chocolates - the necessaries for traveling it was a good stop to get what we needed and allowed us to figure out self checkout in Germany and scanning receipts to leave.
