Probably the worst meal I've ever had. Even the Hagen-Dazs ice from the freezer tasted awful. But In this desolate place I had no other choice, there's no open shops, not even a 7/11. After 7 PM this is a ghosttown... Uhhhh-uiii-ii read more

Even though there were plenty of open tables, both inside and outside, as soon as English was spoken, they were told they couldn't be served. We had four in our group and we came at an off time, so they really couldn't turn us away. And we enjoyed the meal well enough, but even as we were eating, others from our group who came in for a table were turned away. We don't know what the problem is with this restaurant but there are plenty of other options in Eisenstadt.

The…read morelocation is so convenient and the building is beautiful, but the food was easily the worst we had on our trip. We had a reservation, but the restaurant was empty when we arrived. Our waitress didn't speak English and we don't speak German, but she was lovely, helpful, and friendly, and we made it work. She did everything she could to make our night at Henrici wonderful. We started by ordering a few glasses of wine, but the first few I tried to order, they didn't have. Then we ordered food, but several of the dishes we tried to order were also not available. We ordered baba ganoush; labneh; pita bread and focaccia for the dips; and falafel (curry, spinach, and coconut rice). Some aspects of the dishes were fine (the labneh and baba ganoush), but other aspects were simply terrible. The focaccia was inedible (it was so stale that there were a few pieces that we couldn't bite into them at all). The rice served with the focaccia was stale and in clumps. Some of the food just wasn't very fresh, and our lovely waitress couldn't save the meal. Our meal was a disappointment.

Through my travels, I've never shied away from fried pork or fried chicken or fried anything really, but schnitzel has always held a special place in my heart for how it feels, tastes, and pairs with cabbage and potatoes and beer. Trifecta. The schnitzel here is generous to say the least and it comes with a side "salad" which is actually a plate of slivered cabbage, sliced potatoes, pickles, and some butter leaf lettuce on top for good measure. The dressing they use for this salad is a force to be reckoned with and I absolutely love it. I make it a point to eat here every time I fly in and out since I stay at the Hein Hotel down the street after I land and before flying home. The outdoor patio seating is ample and open but to do be aware that smoking is allowed so that might turn you off. Indoor seating is comfortable and also plentiful. Bathrooms are clean. Serice is prompt. Beers are wonderful. Prices are incomparable for such quality. I will say that the mixed grilled plate (pork, turkey, bacon, ribs) was not very good and if anything, I'd just say order the ribs if you want something of that nature. Get the schnitzel. Get the dumpling soup. Get the beer (Gosser is not something I can find in OC and it's wonderful). Enjoy the patio on a sunny day. Walk off your meal through the park just behind the restaurant. Enjoy.

The relatively warm, dry conditions in this 'Thermenregion' region are said to be perfect for light reds like the Pinot we chose...and they were right...perfectly paired w/ our Austrian dishes. I jumped for the Rinderfiletgulasch Stroganoff in a sour cream and mustard sauce with 'shrooms and onions served with Spartzel. It was magnificent. We didn't have any drinks, even though this atmosphere really called for a glass of wine or a beer, because we'd just had a wine tasting and had a drive coming up after lunch. But the food was great. We had Viennese fried chicken, potato salad, and goulash with spätzle. (They only had menus in German, but our waiter was wonderful and helped us read the menu to decide what to order.) Our lunch was delicious. The service was friendly. And the views from the outdoor seating were wonderful. I really enjoyed our meal here and would happily repeat it.

Staff were responsive but quite busy that evening. Menu contained Italian and Austrian dishes and we ended up ordering the linguine de manzo (al dente pasta with very tender tenderloin in a very nice brown sauce) and the tomato risotto (good flavor with the right rice texture). We ended the night with their apple strudel which was quite warm, served with creme anglaise but could've benefitted from a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
