Grown up kids all excited to get suited up, it was the dorkiest I've felt in a long time. They said we only had 30 minutes inside and I felt a bit bad for paying so much money for just half and hour but when you're running in the dark with a laser gun strapped to your chest, it does get pretty tiring. So the end goal is to get as many hits to your opponent's target without getting hit yourself. Each vest is equipped with a sensor that you should aim at, when you're hit, your gun temporarily shuts down and you'd have to wait until it's turned on again. I was a girly girl growing up so you can imagine the struggle I had aiming at boys running at lighting speed. But it's all good fun and even if I finished last on several occasions, yes we've been here more than once, it's a great place to blow off steam and burn off a few calories.

I got to experience Lazer Maxx with some officemates for a team building activity and it's been a very memorable experience. You will be divided into two teams and you each have a gun or what they call phasors. You will also wear a vest with sensors on it that your opponents will try to hit with their lazer and different points are given based on the location of the target that you hit. Sorry but no headshots here. They assign you a cool code name like Achilles or Perseus so you can keep track of your own score. Once everyone is ready then they release you in their arena. And then all hell breaks loose. I mean, you are in this dark arena with guys shooting lazers at you and you're trying to shoot back and you're trying to take cover while a comrade is asking for cover. The game is so frantic that the fifteen minute game play seemed like an hour for me. I exited the arena sweating and panting like I just ran a marathon. So yes, bring an extra shirt if you can. There are some things that I find interesting in this experience. For one, this is a game of wits. There are holes in hiding places that you can exploit to gain advantage over your opponent. It's fun to just go crazy and shoot at everything that moves but you'll just end up getting shot more by the other team. Strategies are needed. Plan the position of your team and make sure that someone covers your back at all times. On a side note, the game brings out hidden personalities and you get to see peolple for who they really are.The cute, prim and proper girl in the office is suddenly shooting wildly like a homicidal maniac who just drank a gallon of Red Bull. You also get a glimpse of who has a hidden angst against the boss, the one who has his target on your manager at the onset of the game. Or the one who keeps on "accidentally" hitting you even though you're on the same team. This is one of the most fun experience I've had. Your calves will be aching afterwards along with other muscles you didn't even know existed but it will definitely be worth it.

If its your first time they give you a 15 min introduction course on how to climb, the different rules as well as how to belay and how to use the auto belay. It was very informative, and helpful, afterwards your on ur own to climb. There were a lot of different climbing stations. Approximately 25 or so, with 5 auto belay areas, each one having about 2 or 3 routes, varying in difficulty, and depending on the color od the hand holds. Each one went up about 20-30 feet. Upstairs they also had a bouldering area as well with nice thick padding since there was no harnessing. We spent a good 2 hours here and it was fun. My forearms and fingers were screaming after. But the place is nicely maintained, clean and comfortable. They had central air running which made it nice. The employees were attentive and watching but not oppressive by any means. The equipment were sturdy. The hand holds werent sticky at all. Nor were they loose. They felt very firm. The cords all look well maintained. They weren't frayed or coming apart. This is a very well put together rock climbing place. Will be back again when im in the area.

There was even a tutorial video for safety that's a plus for parks like this. As for logistics, the park is located at Greenfield area near EDSA cor Shaw Blvd so it's easily accessible. Parking lots are also available nearby (I parked at the open lot across it). Hopefully I'll go back here with my friends and relatives to exercise and enjoy at the same time :3

It was bigger and more comfortable, and it exuded a more elegant yet still cozy feel. And of course, the best assets of this Manila branch is its people. From the owner (Mark) to the game masters (we had Carlo and Sam), we were treated like royalty. We were a big family celebrating my niece's 15th birthday, and Escape Hunt provided a nice cake for the birthday girl. All 14 of us also played at the same time and the staff volunteered to look after our 3 little ones under age 7 since it was not yet a busy hour. And of course the games were so much fun! It required lots of teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, fast decisions, and even some math (yes!) but it was all worth it. Good thing we were the only ones scheduled to play during our assigned time because I'm pretty sure we got pretty loud. :) Definitely a place to visit for locals and tourists alike. If you've ever been to DisneyQuest in Orlando, it's sort of a smaller version of that, geared toward a younger crowd. They have a "participant" ticket for 1500 pesos which includes access to all the attractions and a "non-participant" ticket for 350 pesos. Non-participants get to walk around the facility, as well as the Shrek House and Madagascar areas. Basically a cheaper chaperone ticket for the adults that are accompanying the children. You can also upgrade from your ticket at any time if you decide you want to take part in the fun. There's also a VIP pass for 2999 pesos which includes a meal (food, drink, and ice cream) and the ability to skip the line. Although when we went there weren't really many lines for anything so I'm not sure if it's worth it. We only got non-participant tickets just to take a look around but even that was pretty fun. The facility is well designed and well maintained it feels like a legitimate theme park. Even just walking around the themed areas was entertaining and there were various activities scattered around. We got lots of cute pictures and even got a pic with Alex the lion from Madagascar. Although we didn't try any of the attractions they also looked like a ton of fun for kids. It includes things like ropes course, cooking class, theater, and lots of games. DreamPlay is definitely a place to check out if you've got children, especially if they're a big Dreamworks fan!

I have to give props to their advertising agency or advertising team as the ad was extremely enticing and I know I wasn't the only one whose attention was caught by the copy and graphic that they used. Anyway, when the website finally launched (www.mysterymanila.com), my friends and I rushed to book the first room we could get our hands on. It was called Chained Chamber and we were a group of five (two guys, three girls). Upon entering the grounds at Libis, we were greeted warmly, briefed, offered drinks, and finally, blindfolded, and accompanied to the room we would be solving the mystery in by a guide. I was extremely expressed by what the owners have done with the place and how they've been able to so ingeniously utilize the small space that they have. For that space in time, I really did feel like I was somewhere else and the challenge in itself was quite a feat to tackle. I don't want to give away too much, but allow me to liken the experience to the Amazing Race. Been back several times since the first visit, and I can say that those experiences were super fun as well. I can vouch for the Sinister Sensorium (Jupiter branch) and the Ticking Time Bomb (Libis). You and your friends are locked in a room for one hour, and you need to solve some kind of puzzle (depending on the scenario) to get out. No athletics or brute force needed here, just lots of skill points in problem solving and teamwork! It's all about mind games and riddles, which you'll have to solve under an hour. I went with a group of 5 friends for the Sinister Sensorium room in their Makati branch (across Mapua). This was lots of fun because each of us had to pick a disability: 2 of us had to be deaf, 2 blind, and 2 mute. I won't give any spoilers here, but let me just say that it we had an awesome time. Gather a group of friends and try it out! :D (We also realized that if we were to actually be in a serial killer scenario, we'd be so screwed. :P)

The huge compound features a number of themed party rooms, indoor playgrounds, and fair-type booths and rides. It's a nice destination for a day visit, but it doesn't figure in my list of playgrounds to repeatedly take my child. For one, the indoor playground area looks a bit rundown. While it has about three levels of gym-play, slides, and ball pits, the topmost section of the playground gets really hot. It's either they don't turn on the airconditioning in that area, or the equipment just doesn't cut it for the size. Also, unlike, other indoor playgrounds, the big slide restricts toddlers from going down with an adult companion; Fun Ranch's management lets parents sign a waiver to let their smaller kids use it (It's right smack in the middle! How can they resist?!) but don't allow adults to get on. That poses a lot of little problems like the how the adult manages to climb up the obstacle course to guide the child to the slide, help the kid down the first few inches of it, then rush back down through a maze of jungle foam to catch the kid at the bottom. Parents and guardians will understand my plight. For an indoor playground this big, you would think there should be more attendants inside the play place, but I've seen it packed on Saturdays and Sundays with only two members of the staff by the entrance of the area. It seems safe, though, and is entertaining enough for a visit. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the roller coaster ride and its jerking brake. Try to visit later in the afternoon as well since some rides are outdoors and directly under the sun.
