I booked a ride and was assigned a driver who repeatedly failed to locate me despite multiple phone calls and clear directions. During our interactions, I became concerned about the driver's condition and professionalism. The trip was ultimately cancelled.
After rebooking, I was assigned the same driver again. During this interaction, I was subjected to abusive language, which I found completely unacceptable.
Later that night, I booked another ride and paid extra for Priority Pickup. According to my experience, the driver never arrived at my location. However, the trip was somehow started and completed in the Uber system, and I was charged for the ride despite never entering the vehicle.
As a woman travelling alone at night with a nearly dead phone battery, I was left stranded and had to rely on the kindness of a stranger to get home safely. The situation could easily have ended much worse.
What concerns me most is not the money. It is the apparent failure of Uber's safety and customer protection systems. Despite reporting the incident, providing details, and raising safety concerns, I received a generic response and was informed that no refund would be issued.
I have requested that Uber investigate the GPS records, call logs, trip data, and account activity associated with these bookings. Customers should be able to trust that they will be picked up when a trip is started, treated respectfully by drivers, and taken seriously when reporting safety issues.
Based on this experience, I have lost confidence in Uber's ability to protect its passengers and properly handle serious complaints.
