In 1976 the Aasee was expanded and the new part of the Aasee led from the Tormin-bridge to the small bridge Canisiusweg. Water birds found here their brooding or fishes their spawn area. It is also a pleasure to observe the Kormoranes or the grey herons from the surrounding trails at the Aasee. Even the canteen of the university is located at the Aasee.
