Service: sit yourself anywhere. Waitress came to our table quickly and food was served fast. Inside a vietnamese-dominated plaza, but staff spoke English. Bring your order up to the counter to pay. Card accepted. Ambiance: place was spacious and well-lit. Plenty of tables. Not much in terms of decorations. Variety of music played throughout my meal and at a decent volume. Perfect place for a casual meal. Food: 5/5 ordered the special spicy Cambodian noodles, dry (#2). Broth that came on the side was really yummy and had a huge chunk of meat. Could eat a whole pot of it. The noodle dish had a nice variety of protein and portion size was perfect for the price. Definitely be prepared for the sour tang (if you don't like that, I would order the normal version (#1)). Condiments on the table if you want to add more flavor. I loved the green peppers!

There's so many delicious options in Century City mall, but was excited to see a new spot pop up recently, N & K Noodle. You don't see this style of noodles too much (primarily Nam Vang in SJ), so we were excited to give it a shot. We came on a weekend and there was no wait. Parking in the century city mall is always pretty tough though! We got the Mi Nam Vang Dac Biet, which is the original Cambodian noodle with all the toppings (shrimp, pork, liver, etc.). You can choose between dry and soup. If you choose dry, you get a side soup which comes with a huge beef rib! The noodles itself were well cooked and the toppings were extensive. Wish there was slightly more sauce though! We also tried their stir fried rice noodle dish, Banh Lot Xao Nam Vang. It's basically a Cambodian style beef chow fun and it was really delicious! The noodles were stir fried well and it had a lot of flavor. Thought there were slightly too many bean sprouts for my liking. Service is fast and efficient. Excited to come back and try more of their dishes!

We stumbled upon here while looking for a place to eat. Of course I had to check yelp reviews before and there wasn't too many reviews but everyone gave good stars. The space is pretty big considering in Century Mall and had many tables. The space was clean and bright. I was surprised it was also had some Cambodian dishes! I had to try their Chefs special , the New Hu Tieu NK (Dai), Hand pull Chewy Noodle. The server mentioned it is a lot thicker than your traditional noodles like chow fun. The taste was interesting it was indeed super thickkkk and chewy! I think because I wasn't use to it, I was thrown back by it. The flavor was interesting too, it was spicy a little above my spice tolerance but bearable and a little bit sour. Not sure what that flavor was. But it was stir fried with tofu, bok choy, 2 different meats all for $16.50. I give it a (4/5). My husband ordered the Hu Tieu Nam Vang Dac Biet (Original) for $15.60. The portion size was good and he really enjoyed his bowl and literally drank the whole soup bowl. We also got a side of Chinese donuts $3.50. They came out hot so we knew they were freshly made. We dunked that into his soup and enjoyed every last bit! Overall I would come back to try their other dishes as they have other soups, and rice dishes as well.

My favorite hu tieu nam vang in SJ! I always get the brothless special and brothless spicy/sour version. This spot takes first place for me because the flavor profile is always just right, bowls come with plenty of meat (and in the broth, which some spots don't do), and the pickled chili peppers take it to the next level. Consistently great quality and offerings overall. Service is excellent, restaurant is spacious and clean, and whoever's on aux always does a great job lol love this place!!

This is probably my new spot for Nam Vang! Clean, doesn't get overly busy, and the food is delicious and they tend to you right away! I opted for #2 to see how spicy it really was. It wasn't bad as far as spice goes. I always ruin things by putting too much chili paste or anything spicy in it without trying it first. Bad habit of mine ‍ I will say it was very delicious, I've had the regular Nam vang before and that was good! I'm not too fond of the meatball regardless where I go but that doesn't mean it wasn't good, I'm just particular in a sense. Chinese donut was good, crispy and warm, broth was light but full of flavor! The rib bone I ate clean as always. Definitely fulfilled the craving. I will be back! I definitely recommend them

Food: 5/5 I got the hand pulled noodles and they were perfectly chewy! Loved the flavor of this. Portion was decent, I recommend getting appetizers if you're feeling extra hungry because my family finished their plates and didn't have any left overs. I do have to shout out there pickled chili peppers, it's so good I can eat an entire jar! Service: Friendly staff Ambiance: We came on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too busy or loud . I love that they play early 2000 R&B music, they were playing all the hits! Restaurant is tidy. I would for sure come back when I'm in the area.

My thoughts: This is a traditional classic Vietnamese restaurant that is been around the San Jose area through out the up and down of the economy. And any restaurant can survive the harsh business world is A OK in my book. Plus they do serve good Chinese food and maintain a reasonable price. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean but not up to date. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Vietnamese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Vietman. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Door dashed their original hi tieu nam vang to go - dry version. Came with the broth and noodles. Very comprehensive dish with all the typical meats - shrimp, calamari, liver, pork slices, heart as well as the sprouts and Chinese celery. It all had great flavors and plenty of meat and got the spot. Bad thing was they didn't give us any utensils in the bag!!! Boo. one star off. Luckily we had left over chop sticks at work or we would be eating with our fingers.

Not sure why it runs empty sometimes, but the rumors are true: It is BASICALLY the same as the old Nam Vang on Tully/Alvin. Clean shop, service fast and efficient. Whatever you remembered from the old Nam Vang is what you'll get here, but bigger portions. Accepts credit card! Come here for your Hu Tieu fix!!

Our party of 5 visited on a Saturday around 11:30AM. The restaurant was pretty empty with maybe 3-4 other tables occupied. Service was minimal. I got the Hu Tieu Nam Vang Dac Biet original and thought it was pretty good! Standard toppings, flavorful sauce that coats all the noodles, and not too oily. The dried shrimp bits were good. Soup was ok. The other people in my party got pho, hu tieu sate bo, and banh lot nam vang. They were all okay-below average. 3.5 stars if considering other dishes. 4 stars stars if just considering hu tieu nam vang :)

Been wanting to try this spot for the longest but feel like I would be let down because Nam Vang on Alvin is elite and always a sj staple. Eventually gave it a shot because my brother went give his opinion. Came on a Monday around 5pm. No one in sight... we were the only ones there, which wasn't a good sign, service was great though. Overall clean and your standard Vietnamese restaurant. To the food! Man the #1 was honestly as good or little better than nam vang. I did it with broth today since my body needed some thing soupy from the weekend. Meat was very tender, soupy was cleansing my soul, and a lot of flavor from the dried shrimp and ground pork. Chinese donut was fresh it felt like. Only thing the meatball was not sticking together as much as I like (I like Nam vang meatballs better) Glad I have this place a shot. Probably will go here again soon to try the non broth one. Also heard it could be same family as owner of Nam Van, which would make sense.

La Mein Xao Thap Cam (combination stiry fried noodles): Reminds me of Thai's drunken noodles without the sweetness. Very savory and seasoning was just right. Flavorful but not salty. The noodles were thicker than the usual chow fun. It was cooked perfectly and is chewey just the way I like it. There was not alot of noodles but with the amount of vegetables with shrimp and chicken that it worked out well as the dish filled me up. 2. He says the noodles were cooked well, nice, firm, and chewey. The sauce is flavorful and not too salty. Hubby says the protein could be more. There were a few slices of pork, 2 shrimp, 1 small piece of squid, 1 thin slice of pork heart & 1 small piece of liver. This dish is accompanied with a vegetable plate and a bowl of soup on the side. The vegtable plate had a small portion of blanched bean sprouts and a couple pieces of cut up Chinese celery. For my husband who loves veggies in his food, that was not enough. He asked for more bean sprouts. Overall, we both enjoyed our meal. Service was not great nor bad. When we need extra bean sprouts my husband was able to locate a staff and got their attention. His request was met promptly. Aside from that, no staff came by to check in nor refill our water. We will definitely returned with our boys in the future to try other dishes. I definitely am interested in the Laos/Cambodian dishes that are on the menu.

When I got there, I was told the same total again, so I asked for clarification. The menu lists $15 for small and $16 for large, and I'm familiar with places automatically charging the large size for to-go orders, which is fine. But the math still isn't mathing! Even estimating generously: $17 per bowl comes out to $34, plus about 10% tax ($3) brings it to $37. There's also a clearly posted $0.35 to-go container fee, but that still doesn't justify the $39 total. It may only be a small difference, but the lack of transparency didn't sit right with me. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When I asked for a small container of the pepper sauce that is available at the tables, I was told no. Once the mistake was confirmed, I still had to wait another 10 minutes while multiple employees checked on me. To make matters worse, the food itself was fairly mediocre and didn't stand out compared to other Thai restaurants in the area. Between the service issues and average food, this wasn't a place we would return to.
