My son came over to Na from another Taekwondo School. The teachers are so kind, fun energetic and made the transition so seamless and smooth. My son is always excited to go to class and since transferring to Na has shown a new excitement and passion for martial arts. All the teachers are great and show a great deal of patience with the kids. The teachers have also done a great job ensuring every kid gets one on one attention regardless of the class size as they have many instructors at hand and pay close attention if any student needs help. Teacher Daniel is an awesome teacher and always does drills that are fun but there is usually a clever listening drill that accompanies the physical drills. All the teachers are great and are capable of running the entire class on their own. They all show a great level of expertise, excitement and confidence. The facility administration has truly let our family down. We registered our 6-year-old son for the four-day trial with the white and yellow group. In addition to teaching the young children taekwondo, we believed that the purpose of this program was to instill in them a sense of discipline and rule-following. My son is an energetic young kid who was very enthusiastic about kicking and punching, but in class, he occasionally disobeyed instructions or kicked the punching bag without being told to. After the trial, when we sought to register him as a member, they refused to do so and chose to release him rather than cooperate with us in helping him adhere to the regulations. He has friends who are attending the facility, and he was wanting to be there with them, so he was really disappointed and upset. They told us to wait four to five months before trying again. They were informed of the purpose and how keeping him at home would benefit from doing so! We are now attempting to help him deal with the fact that he was rejected as an active kid and that it was not his fault to be energetic at such a young age. However, If your child is not paying attention or obeying the rules, he should not be in this place. They ought to be well-behaved and attentive at all times. read more

Before coming here, its been ridiculously impossible finding the right match of Tae Kwon Do place for my kids. My daughter is shy, but LOVES TKD. Other places had teachers (although nice and patient) who were unable to focus on improving my daughter individually. Also, my kids being part Korean, I personally need my kids to follow a place with patient, kid-focused Korean Female and Male teachers. My kids immediately connected with Master Na and her team. This is a really great martial arts studio. The kids get excellent instruction from knowledgeable, passionate and patient teachers. I love how they also focus on the behavioral and discipline elements, it really helps the students outside of class. We've known Master Na since she was teaching at Lifetime fitness. Her class was always popular and kids had lots of fun. I have had such a great experience taking classes at Na Martial Arts. Nana and her instructors are not only good at Taekwondo, they are excellent teachers who want to help you learn and improve. The studio is clean and beautiful, and conveniently located right of East Bidwell. They offer adult classes and I would highly recommend trying this studio out to challenge your body and mind - it's definitely not just for kids! I started getting bored taking "grown up" fitness classes and wanted to try an activity where I can actually work towards an achievement. It's so motivating/rewarding to work towards a goal and I have so much fun doing it! I'm always bummed when class is over and can't wait to go back everytime I leave! Our 7 year old completed the trial offer ($40 gets a uniform, one 30 mins private lesson, and two 40 mins group lessons). We signed up to continue after the trial and he's loved every minute of it! I am hooked! I grew up taking dance classes and have mostly stuck to exercises such as barre, yoga, and pilates, so this was totally new to me. This is hands down the funnest class I've ever taken. I walk out of each class smiling from ear to ear and I can't stop talking about it. Taekwondo is a wonderful physical and mental exercise and Master Na is an excellent teacher. She is friendly, encouraging, and takes the time to demonstrate and explain all the moves in a way that's easy to grasp.
