On Thursdays the entrance is free and once a month I think they have Gothik evenings for all the dark fans. From time to time you are able to meet nice people there - a lot of tourists as well (not least because of the location). The first room had reggae/dancehall and a bit of hip hop. The second room had, what I think is called, Drum and Bass - it was a mixture of electro/dub/reggae and sounded awesome. I'm really not a fan of cigarette smoke in clubs, but it seems like a necessary evil in Germany. Lots of fun here :-)

On a not-so-special street under the train line bridge and down a narrow poorly lit alley we found the entry for this place. Entry is 5 Euros, which is the first time I've had to part with money to enter a venue but entry fees were soon to be long forgotten once you entered the thick of the club. The atmosphere is ecstatic and it's obvious everyone here is out to party and have a good time, the music is an almost frantic Russian folk...I'm unsure of even how to describe it... Hilarious...the sort of music you only really jump around and thrash to...really different from your usual club music fare but really good non the less... ...and everyone was doing it. Beers are Russian and huge!!! Long big brown bottles of the stuff for only 2 euros apiece and with a 50cent return if you brought the bottle back to the bar with your next order. Behind the DJ box was a large projector screen playing black and white images or Russian, people, history and art...flicker across the screen along with the music. It gets really hot in here without air conditioning so pretty much every 1/2 an hr or so we all went to stand outside and cool off...luckily so did most of the smokers...so I found this place didn't get as smokey as some of the places I've been too. The only criticisms would be it was also the first time I had to queue for the bathroom... whether it's just that Russian girls take forever primping or the fact that there were only two toilets in the ladies... the line can take up to 15 Min's till you reach the front....luckily even in the early hours of the evening nobody was puking at least everyone in the club could handle their alcohol that's for sure :-) Highly recommend it !!! especially if you have your very own Ruski along in the group to order in Russian like we did :-)

Party boat!…read more Yes it's a little harbour boat tour boat that's had all of the seats ripped out and a bar and soundsystem put in, leaving most of the space for the dance floor. Catch it from the far west end of Landungsbrucken. EUR8 on, and then beers are EUR2.50. It docks once an hour so people can get on and off, but once you've paid your EUR8 then you can stay on all night. One point worth noting: go to the toilet before you get on as there's only one toilet aboard and the queue moves pretty slow!

Since it is just off The Reeperbahn, it is GREAT people watching.....just park yourself by one of the windows, grab a drink and peer out at the mix of locals, tourists, hookers and the rest of the lot. You can easily waste away hours drinking and dancing (if there's room). I HIGHLY recommend when you inevitably find your way to this delightfully seedy part of town.

I find it hard to understand how…read moreI managed to not come here for my first two years in the city, but recently I came to see Grizzly Bear. Great band, great venue. The balcony area is a good choice if it gets packed downstairs or if you're with a short person... One warning - it took me about 20 minutes to get my coat back - if you're going upstairs, keep it with you and put it on the balcony or one of the tables, save yourself EUR1 and 20 minutes.
