Apparently, even though they sent an email out to everyone to join the tournament & had it listed for all ages... it's for youth. Very disappointed in how things have been at the club since Jim left. Like how hard would it be to leave a note at the front desk telling them it's a youth tournament Friday &/or sending out an email letting members know prices are going up by 75% (and after speaking to the club it sounds like they are going to do another price hick soon)

My review is about the overnight/resident camp. This camp is so far off of what is advertised on…read morethe website and apparently no amount of research (I thought I was thorough) can prepare you. There were only 2 cabins of children... one boys, one girls, all ages, attached, with one female counselor between the 2, so connecting doors were left open at night. After the day campers left, that one counselor was also the lifeguard, the activities director, the cook. There were ZERO campfires in the evenings. Instead they were put in front of a movie 3 of the 5 nights... with microwaved s'mores and frozen pizza one night. They did not get to pick their activities... horseback riding, archery, games, sports, outdoor cooking, fishing were not offered. They attended prescribed activities that were mostly the same every day. There was no teambuilding, no traditions, no fun clubs, nothing that we were expecting. Kids told to 'stop crying' if they were homesick. I even emailed prior with a couple questions that would have given the perfect opportunity to set the expectation and let the parent decide if this type of environment was right for our children. So disappointed in this camp, which I know USED to be good bc I went there as a kid. So disappointed in the YMCA for not doing better and for ruining my daughter's idea of overnight camp.

It being closed last year due to the pandemic was probably the worst transition our daughter went thru during these uncertain times. If you live in the Quad Cities the you heard the scream from Danika's mouth when she heard "Papa Smurfs "voice when I answered the phone. We drop our little girl off & her dad cries every time cuz this is his baby but we know she's safe & she comes home with so much knowledge & understanding. She feels so peaceful while at camp. She's not afraid to try new things. We've never been turned away when we've struggled to pay for camp. This is the best thing you can do for your children is send them to Camp Abe Lincoln. They don't have any electronics but you can email them & Nicks up bright and early printing them off before 5am so your camper gets them every morning at breakfast time. Please look into it. I think NOT! At the front desk I asked about a veteran discount and was told "I don't think we do that". Please educate your staff and PLEASE honor the spirit of a "lazy river."

My husband got stung by some black bug in the domestic animal area so we were dealing with that. If you go to the gift shop, they had a first aid kit that you could access once you filled out an incident report so they did have sting wipes, hydrocortisone, and some other supplies that helped. The Park is laid out well you can see the entire thing in about two hours. There is a playground so you could stay longer if you wish and it looked like they do allow you to bring in your own food for a picnic. The kids had a great time and we did see some animals that we haven't traditionally seen such as the Asian monkeys, they were absolutely beautiful I love the fact that they do rescue animals and care for them! I will comment on the pricing of the train and the carousel as we are members of the Phoenix zoo and this pricing seems exorbitant- the cost is less at a major metro area in Phoenix than it is for this train ride, and as you can see from my photos, it was mostly empty! Maybe bring that price down so kids can enjoy it how's you're going to be driving around - anyway why drive it empty? There are seven of us in our party so it would've been almost $34 for a quick train ride, please do the math for families and try to make this more affordable. Same with the carousel ride, $4.50 per person, ouch! I do appreciate that the entrance fee is reasonable, it's a small zoo and was an enjoyable day- there is a happy Joe's down the road so we went to lunch versus eating at the zoo $5 parking $10 senior $11 adult $4.75 train $4.50 carousel $2 bag for feeding animals

The owner Dennis is thorough and makes you comfortable with jumping. The pilot and videoographer are super cool too. The experience from start to finish was great. Can't wait to see my video. The Mississippi River boat ramp has been in bad shape for many years. The ramp on right side as you…read moreface the river has wasted away. This is an eye sore. A lot of people go near the ramp to watch the ducks. Years ago there was even a large boat dock on this ramp. This ramp is one of the first things people see as the enter the park from 18th avenue and look to the right at the Mississippi.
