We had a discussion where I asked him to please just listen as I was very frustrated with other doctors. He was silent the whole time I spoke and related things, listening intently. He informed me that he did a deep dive into my records so he knew exactly what was going on. He has helped me with different conservative treatments for my knee primarily left over the past 3 to 4 years because I wanted to put off knee surgery. I'm seeing a surgeon tomorrow but I have an injection of hyaluronic acid on Wednesday to keep me comfortable until I'm able to have surgery or maybe if it works really well, I won't need to have surgery. To my amazement, Dr. Doyle called me the day before I was to have my first visit with him and told me that he would not be able to see me, as "I had too much of a complicated medical history and had too many things presently ongoing medically, for him to be able to see me." Now, I wonder why he is a practicing physician. I thought doctors love to see patients, whether they have many medical problems or not. He did not even offer to at least see me for the next 30 days (since I can only change my PCP on the 1st of the month), and I have medications to be refilled as well. He did not want anything to do with me due to my extensive medical problems and extensive medications. I never knew a doctor only took "the easy cases"! It also would have been nice for him to at least tell me this in person, as I went through making all of these changes. I will contact my insurance carrier and tell them that they need to put in their booklet of physicians... which physicians will take someone who is ill, and which physicians will only take on "well patients" so they can just collect money and not take the time to care for them. What happened to the oath to care for a patient without predjudice?
