I have been coming to Nail Trend for years for the quality. The staff has changed tremendously but it's still a good place to go for a quick, decent pedicure. This isn't a place that will offer you 4 glasses of wine but they will get the job done I received a standard pedicure for $28, great price! I did feel a little rushed and couldn't get the deluxe pedi I wanted. I was told there were a lot of appointments coming in but I felt they should've been better staffed. There were only 3 people working on a Friday afternoon. The salon is clean and pedis are on the more affordable side so I will keep coming! read more

I get pedicures because 1, I don't do a very good job when I do it; and 2, it feels good to get my feet massaged. The pedicure I got at Nail Trends was HORRIBLE!!! It was the worst pedicure I've ever received AND I didn't get any polish, just the pedicure! As I said, I don't do a great job; but the pedicure I got at Nail Trends was ten times worse than what I do. I had an appointment at a different nail salon but it didn't work out. This was in the same strip mall as the place I went to eat at. I rolled in and workers were super friendly. Offered me coffee, tea, water. Still brought out water even when I declined. Tech named David was thorough and took his time. Overall I was satisfied. The only negative was my wheelchair didn't fit under the nail station. It was vary narrow. I had to get out of my wheelchair and use their chair to feel comfortable. read more

I loooooove this nail salon. You know when you find the nail salon and it becomes the nail salon you go to now? Nail trend is that for me. The staff is very friendly and I get a pedicure here about every month. I like their color selection. I typically go for more darker shades and earthy tones for my toes and their selection never disappoints. I don't remember the names of the nail technicians but they are all very careful and meticulous with their craft. They take their time to clean my feet very well and I think they also take pride in how comfortable I am during the pedicure. I appreciate the prices and they have a punchcard system where every five times you come in for a service you get five dollars off your next service! All the ladies are very sweet. I've gotten a few gel manicures here before and they've always look very beautiful. They accept both cash and credit and you're able to tip after they run the card. Some places don't have that option. It's very clean inside and I've gotten pretty lucky with calling in and asking if I can just walk in. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. I went in for a FULL set of acrylics. They came out very think and chunky, they look like they can pop off. The paint job was horrible, they didn't paint the whole nail and some spots were very faded and some spots were darker. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Even after showing the manager and owner they began to yell at me and caused a scene saying I have to still pay full price for them. My nails look like I went to Walmart and bought a cheap pack of glue ons. On top of all of that my nails look like I already need a fill and I just got them done today two hours ago. There's glue all over my hands too. Very upsetting that they wouldn't do anything for this terrible job. Also I had an appointment and still had to wait 40+ minutes. I have been going to this salon to see Nikki as well as her other location Nail Trend II in East Dundee for at least a couple years now. Nikki does an amazing job with my French manicure and pedicure. She is very personable, knowledgeable and she always tries to make time to squeeze me in when she can when I call in for an appointment. Her prices are also very competitive and she also offers five dollars off after your fifth visit. Great customer service from the moment I walked in. I truly felt like Nikki listened to what I wanted and I was pleased with the outcome. Went here for the first time for a mani (dip) and pedi. Pedicure was fine. Nothing special, no complaints. But my manicure...that's another story. I asked for a dip which is what I've been doing for a while now but this was my first time at this salon. First off, she was using basic clear nail polish throughout my dip over each layer of powder. I am not an expert but all my previous dips at various salons always used a special bottle for the layers in between dipping. The other lady said something to her (not in English) and it sounded like she was questioning her but she kept going. I didn't say anything as the dip technique is nothing new and I'm not an expert, I figured they knew what they were doing. And one of the big reasons I do dip is to stay away from the UV light. Well, she had me put my hands under a UV light after putting on the top coat. Within 48 hours two nails chipped. And another one chipped another 24 hours after that. I've never had that happen before the 2 1/2 week mark, so I'm positive she didn't use the right stuff. The place was dirty and a bit unorganized. I will never go back here. read more

God how I love when I'm stuck in the 'burbs. The land of way cheap gas, inexpensive nights out and best of all reasonably priced salon treatments. Things I loved about the place: fair pricing, great selelction of colors, very clean and relatively stylish salon, friendly staff, decent magazine selection and semi-friendly staff. Things I did not love: not so truthful wait times.....just because you put me in the chair in two minutes doesn't mean I will be attended to within the promised 15.... I had to listen to all the incessant chatting of staff amongst themselves and had to monitor what I said because clearly, everyone was listening to my conversation, yet no one thought to turn up the horrific ambient radio station in the background. Because that would make us all more comfortable. And they rushed me a little..... I would prefer they tell the truth and have me come back in half an hour. I'm bummed. Someone told me how great this place was, so I called and made an appointment for a no chip. I could have gotten past the lack of color selection or colors be actually tested on something and not just in the bottle, if my no chip had turned out spectacular. Unfortunately it's one of the worst I've ever had. The woman that did my nails was awesomely nice, nice chit chat. However some of my nails kept coming out of the dryer wrinkled, and even though I kept telling my nail tech that we should just take it all off, she kept going. Eventually someone came and tried to help, and finally got the polish not to wrinkle, but the application was just awful. I know I was the last appointment of the night, but I mentioned coming back another time a few times thinking then there we would be more time to get it right. No luck. So now I'm home and I've left my nails alone, only now really getting to look at them. Yikes. I've got bumps in the polish, polish all over my cuticles, uneven application that's streaky, and even a nail that's missing polish on the end my but skin had plenty on. I'm bummed. I won't go back and let them touch my nails again, but I also feel like I just wasted $35. read more

I've gone here many times...first time being after I left another salon that had creepy vibes. They had several chairs and nail stations so it's usually easy to get in. My friend an I usually make appointments because it can get busy. There seems to b lots if regulars who go for reoccurring nail appointments....something I deem as a good thing. Prices are fair - $25 for pedi, $15 for manicure. I'm not sure if they discount if they do both. Lots of colors to choose from and the salon itself is bright and clean. I've been going back for at least 2-3 pedis a year with my friend, having tried other places in between too. But this place is solid, never been disappointed. read more

Nail Trend is FABULOUS! Friendly staff and a much better mani/pedi than you'd typically get from a walk-in salon. This is actually the only place, other than a salon where I've paid top dollar, where I've gotten paraffin on my feet. What a treat to leave with shiny toes that are attached to smooth and silky feet! The pedicure chairs are newer and very comfy too. Highly recommend this place. Went here for a acrylic fill and polish change on my toes. The good news is the gal was quick, the bad news is the polish job and filing was done very poorly. I walked in to have my nails done and they said it would be 20 minutes so I waited. An hour later I finally sat down to get them done. Nine days after a NO CHIP manicure almost every nail was chipping. I went in to ask what they could do and I was told that it had been over a week and that was to be expected. I have had no chip for quite some time and you pay more due to the fact it is NOT supposed to chip. She went on to say I must have picked at them and only agreed to fix one nail. Eight of us came here for a mani/pedi bonding event, and this place was great! First, they were easy to work with for setting it up. Then, we were quite late in arriving, and they rolled with it, while still accommodating their other customers. All of the girls were happy with what they got, which included regular manicure (which comes with parafin wax), regular pedicure, no-chip manicure, etc. They also allowed us to bring in some snacks for the party, and were flexible with our chatting and moving around.
