This review is for my lashes with Wendy. I've been going to her for many years now even when they had the other location in Newark. IMO she's the best lash technician in this area. I've tried other places and she does the best job! My lashes stay for a minimum 3 weeks. She's super gentle and always makes me look so pretty! She is so gentle, I end up falling asleep most sessions. I even still kept my appointments through my whole pregnancy because she's so quick! It's hard laying down for an hour when you're pregnant but she made things so comfortable. The nurses kept calling me "the pretty patient" when I went in to give birth. Lol! I've recommended all my friends to go there and they are long time clients too. Highly recommend her service. Here's a photo of my retention after two weeks.
I'm pretty experienced when it comes to getting lash extensions. I used to get them all the time for 2 years. However, I took a break and recently came back to them because I wanted to look nice for my trip to Europe. The price is very fair as my new set of 6D eyelash extensions were only $150. However I was pretty disappointed with a few things. My lash technician did not provide me with a spoolie to brush my lashes. Also it has not even been a week yet and I lost over a dozen fans ON EACH EYE. (I lose one every time I brush them with the spoolie I bought off of Amazon.) Anyway it hasn't even been a week since my appointment and I already have a gap in the middle of my lashes because I have lost so many fans! You should get your lashes done here only if you want eyelash extensions that last a week.
CASH ONLY. Nailaland is located in a plaza and offers plaza parking. I was able to book an appointment for eyelash extensions easily by messaging the business and received a quick reply. Their prices are cheaper than most and they offer a variety of lengths and styles. This place is clean and comfortable, and the technicians are nice. I want to try getting my nails done here as they have a variety of designs and colors. I would recommend this place and will go back.
This review is for my gel manicure experience with Janice! I had an appointment with her on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. I was her last appointment of the day, but despite that, Janice welcomed me in warmly as soon as I walked into the shop. She was finishing up her customer before me but that was because I came a bit early -- once it was my turn she began her magic! I came in not knowing what I wanted but since Janice was a pro I trusted her to do what she felt would look good on my nails. I chose the color and sort of described the theme I wanted and she definitely delivered! Janice is super detailed and careful with her work, I think my entire appointment took about 2 hours, and she'd always go back and recheck her work to make sure it was perfect! I absolutely loved how my nails turned out, from the shape to the color and design Janice helped me with. The gel and designs she uses are super unique and beautiful -- the Japanese nail art trend is definitely pricy but worth it! To top it off, my appointment with Janice was super fun because she was so easy to talk to, and it almost felt like I was catching up with an old friend. I definitely recommend this little shop to anyone looking to get cute and unique nail designs. And make sure you book an appointment since they don't take walk-ins!
Just had my Xmas design nail few days ago with Yumi. I brought the picture of design and showed her. I can tell she tried her best to make it just like the picture. I feel bad that I had to rush her through her work cuz I had to leave by certain time. It still turns out nicely! So happy with the result and feel I'm ready for Xmas!! I also had Janice at my first visit. She's also great! Both of them are friendly and easy to talk too. This will be my to go nails shop from now on!!
My new favorite nail salon! I requested Janice because of the amazing reviews. She's really good at what she does and takes time to the small details. She always asking if I'm fine with the design and she tried her best to make a flower for me. She's very sweet and nice. I would come back for my bridal nails here!
My review is about two weeks overdue! I sent in a message via yelp on Wednesday and within 15 minutes, Janice responded and gave me the link to book an appointment for Saturday 12 pm. I wasn't aware that there was another nail salon that did Japanese gel manicures. First, I'm very happy with the price. For a Japanese gel manicure with a design, my overall total for the service was $65. Of course, my total was higher than this because I was so happy with the result, I gave Janice a big tip. I showed up a little early but Janice helped me settle in right away. I only waited about 5 minutes before she came over to get started with what I wanted. I showed her the design and she suggested some changes. The original design had pink Sakura stickers, but she suggested to go with gold Sakura stickers because gold would pair up with the navy better. I went along with her suggestion and I'm so glad I did! Janice is very detailed with her work. She would meticulously check over my nails to make sure they're the right shape and length. I didn't even realize nearly two hours had passed because we were talking so much. (Haha I was getting my nails done for the GazettE concert in LA and we talked about concerts and kpop ) whenever I get my nails done, I'm usually quiet and same with the nail tech, but I really enjoyed my conversation with Janice! Overall, I'm very satisfied with my nails. The stickers haven't peeled off it anything, the gel hasn't chipped. A lot of people complimented my nails too I'm definitely going to be a regular customer now!
I owe this to Janice. I cannot thank her enough for being to nice and patience with me. I usually go to see her without knowing what design I want. With that being said, she never rushes me like other nail salons. She takes her time to make sure she gets every detail to the point. My trip to Taiwan got me so obsessed with getting my nails done because the quality is really what you paid for! These nails last weeks!!! Longest was 4 weeks without chipping! . I am so thankful to have found her through a few good friends of mines! :)
Janice the nail technician is an angel Sent From Heaven to do your nails. She is a patient, diligent ARTIST - and she's probably outdone every and any nail salon I've ever been to. You NEED to book with her. Her art style is influenced by Japanese style nails, and she is literally perfect in every way. She has a HUGE selection of colors, designs, and stamps/stickers. I MEAN LOOK AT MY NAILS. SHE MADE MY MAN HANDS INTO PERFECTION. pictures speak 1000 words. The price is VERY worth everything she does. Janice 4ever. Janice for president.
An absolutely five star nail salon. Janice is a very knowledgeable and nice girl. She is definitely able to do a lot of trendy nail art on our nails. It was my first time today but I will be back again and get my lashes done as well.
I had Yumi do my nails & she was amazing! I showed her a design I liked and she was able to do it but even better. When I came in my nail cracked and bandaged together. I asked her if she could salvage it and she did. My nails feel thicker and healthier now. Thanks Yumi! See you soon.

I had an appointment with Janice on Saturday and it has to be one of the best experiences I have had getting my nails done! Janice was super sweet. She was extremely gentle when shaping and buffing my nails which I appreciated. When it came to doing the design, Janice took her time. I could tell that she really cares about her clients. I will definitely be coming back again (:
I recently had my nails done in Japan, and after 6 weeks, it was time to have them removed and replaced with a new set. It was easy to schedule an appointment with Nailaland, just give them a call and book. The removal fee was $15, and the cost of a new set varied from $70-90+, depending on the chosen design. Chloe, my nail technician, was very patient during the removal process despite the big jewels flying everywhere as she was filing it off. After showing her a photo of the new design I wanted, she skillfully delivered a pretty finished product that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, one of the butterfly wings broke after I got home, but Chloe was able to schedule a free fix after I contacted her. The salon accepts Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal as payment methods. I highly recommend coming here for quality Japanese nails. read more

I have mixed feelings about Nailaland. I have been looking for a nail salon in the east bay that uses Japanese gel and stumbled upon this place bc of the great reviews. Japanese gel is supposed to last much longer and doesn't lift. I immediately requested an appt. (it was my first time using this yelp option!). I answered some automated questions about the service I was interested in (nail art), dates I was available for an appt., who I'd like to make an appt. with (I chose Janice bc she had more reviews), and uploaded photos of inspo nails. I was messaged back in a timely matter to confirm the appt. I also inquired about the price (included a photo of the nails i wanted) to know what to expect with nail art. I was quoted $70-$75 (without extensions). Fast forward to my 11am appt. a few days after our interaction.. I arrive 10 min early, but the shop is completely closed. The sign says they are open at 10am, so I'm confused, like maybe I'm at the wrong place or?? I call, a girl apologizes saying someone should be there shortly. Ok, not a huge deal. I thought I would be getting my nails done by Janice, since that's who I chose in my appt. request, but Yumi was the one who opened up the shop and ended up doing my nails. She was really sweet and easy to talk to. For my nails, I wanted the design from the photo, but without the accent nail. I wasn't completely satisfied with my nails bc I feel like it wasn't as precise as in my inspo photo, but it was decent enough. When I went to pay she told me my total was $89, which caught me off guard bc according to our messages, I was quoted $70-$75, which when I told her, she said "I said it would be AROUND $70-$75." Why give a price range and not honor it? $14 is a big difference. Anyway, I'm not one to cause a scene so I paid, tipped, and left feeling like I was taken advantage of. 5 days after getting my nails done, the gel has already started lifting/ peeling. I'm even more disappointed and probably would not come back. read more

I brought in a photo of a nail design I liked and some wagashi tape with the color scheme I wanted, and Yumi executed beautifully even though it was her first time doing this kind of design (-: She was able to match the colors on my nails to the wagashi tape flawlessly. During the appointment, I made a comment that my nails were starting to give me mermaid vibes so she suggested we add a few small seashell bits to fit the theme. She has great taste and is very sweet/friendly. I would highly recommend her if you are curious about trying Japanese-style gel manicures. read more
Janice exceeded my expectations in every way. She is super sweet and knowledgeable about nails. My nails were damaged after getting them done at a different salon and she was very detailed oriented when fixing them, giving me tips and explaining her reasoning with every step. I came in with a general idea of what I wanted, but we ended up creating an original design together and I'm very pleased with the way it came out. She is ridiculously meticulous and made sure every nail was perfect. Took a bit of sleuthing to find where she was, but her booth is located inside of Face and Body center. Overall very pleased with the way my nails turned out and will likely be back soon! read more

All I can say is this is the one and the only one nails salon I consecutive visiting for almost 2 years! They are doing better and better! I just love the people here and Janice is my favorite！I only book her for my nails and she always surprised me! Not matter how you like your nails , simple or fancy ,she will achieve what you want. Also the gels they using is from Japan, not only the colors are so pretty but also it doesn't smell toxic. A full set of nails can last 3-4 weeks but I had one last for 6 weeks lol becoz they are too busy and I have to wait. So make sure you guys book early. They have lashes extensions and facial treatments too. read more

Wendy is very thorough and accommodating. She takes her time to make sure you get what you want. I've had my lashes done by other people before but I've experienced the best retention with Wendy's work. She is definitely one of the best and I recommend her 110%! read more

I came to Nailaland because I wanted specifically Japanese Gel, and the lady I normally go to was off that day. Luckily, Nailaland took me in right away. I came in and knew exactly the style I wanted. And thankfully, my manicurist, Joanna (not sure if I spelled her name correctly) was able to match the style I wanted. She was very patient, gentle, and took her time with the details. I felt bad because I think she had a cold, and I am beyond thankful and appreciative of her for her work. On top of that, there was a wind storm yesterday, so the door kept forcefully opening and closing itself. Kinda scary, haha. But she managed to handle that while doing my nails with a cold? I felt so bad, but she was a superwoman and handled it all gracefully! I absolutely loved her work and how my nails came out. Thank you, Joanna :) read more

Janice is a rock star. When I sat in the chair, she first assessed the strength of my nails. That was pretty cool. And at one point during the service, she went through each pair of fingers (pointers, middles, rings, etc.) to ensure they were even, like a hairdresser. She kept filing and buffing and checking and adjusting throughout the process. On top of that, she's nice and easy to talk to. I will be back! Please note: someone said in their review that Nailaland is cash only. That is no longer accurate, they take cards!!!! read more

I am a florist and my hands are constantly in water and my nails never last. I went to Nailaland on December 7, 2018 to get my nails done for my birthday. Over a month ago and I still have the same polish! I'm amazed how long my nails have lasted! Regular gel never last more than 2 weeks! Nailaland is worth every penny! I will definitely be going back very soon! read more

I love coming here to get my nails done! I always wanted to try some cool nail art but never had a place close by until my sister told me about Nailaland. Janice does nails and has a partner who does eyelashes. I've had my nails done twice by Janice and both visits have been really fun. I showed her some designs I liked and she was able to take one of the designs and put her own spin on it. She is meticulous with her work and as others have said, she is very patient. She is very sweet and we always have something to talk about whenever I come in. I will definitely be back to visit her again in the future! read more

This was my first time getting Japanese style gel nail art, and I loved it! I was initially scared of how long it would take, but Yumi is very friendly so time flew by. Yumi is so talented, and she takes the time to make sure you leave with what you want. She took my inspiration photo and modified it the way I wanted. Overall, I loved my experience here! read more
