Walking into Nailoscope feels more like stepping into a boutique spa than your typical nail salon. The space is spotless, beautifully designed, and huge bonus there's none of that overpowering acrylic smell. Check-in was a breeze, and the complimentary snacks and drinks made waiting feel indulgent. I went for the Royal Hot Stone Pedicure while my friend opted for the Deluxe Spa Pedicure. Both were relaxing, but here's the thing: for the extra $5, I expected the "Royal" to give me noticeably more pampering. The heated neck pillow was a lovely touch, but the massage portion, my main reason for upgrading, was underwhelming. The tech actually started the timer and then stepped away, and my friend's Deluxe service wrapped up almost exactly when I did. At that point, the only real difference was the heated pillow, not a longer massage. That said, the highlights are worth noting: * Modern, airy, upscale ambiance * Complimentary drinks and snacks * Freshly remodeled restroom that's spotless * Friendly staff and a thorough pedicure. Affordable, attentive, and efficient! I was in search of a new salon and decided to give this spot a try. They were super accommodating and fit me in last minute for a pedicure. The inside is clean, spacious, and bright. Lots of room for rows of tables and massage chairs. I felt super comfy with lots of personal space. I got a simple pedicure with regular polish. My tech was super meticulous about getting the length and shape right and made sure to cover all corners of the nails when painting. She was SO neat and moved very quickly. Nail tech "My" helped me and oh my gosh she did nails at the level of wedding nails or extraordinary occasion nails. They are perfect down to each detail and I'm soooo picky. I asked for such a specific color, such a specific shape, I asked that they look like they're growing out of my nail bed. And guess what, these are better than any "Russian manicure" she was so safe and so kind and there is not one uneven part of the shaping or quality. If you ask for My then please treat her as good as she treats you! Genuinely what a wonderful place.. the people there and the quality they provide is unmatched and I've been to lots of different nail places even ones that we're supposedly "the best in San Diego" and those don't compare to the atmosphere or quality here! What a comfortable place with complementary drinks and food and what experienced techs!! this place has extremely poor management. I have gotten my nails done by Sabrina and she is hands down the BEST nail tech I have ever been to. She is super friendly and always does an incredible job. I have looked past the management just to keep getting my nails done by her. However, every single time I book an appt, I always get a call to reschedule. Every. Single. Time. One of the times I have been asked if I can come in later, when I said no I was met with attitude as if it was my fault. I arrived at my time, and sat in the lobby for 45 minutes. This past time I booked and got a call to cancel my appt and come in another day. It really is such a huge shame because I LOVEEE getting my nails done with Sabrina. It's incredibly unfortunate that I am leaving her work because it is very inconvenient as a customer to keep getting my appts rescheduled or peer pressured to cancel and rebook continuously. read more

Callie is amazing!! I have been getting my gel manicures for years, but recently started getting builder gel to improve the health of my nails. After my first couple of appointments, I didn't notice a huge difference and didn't like how bulky the builder gel felt. During my first appointment with Callie, I shared my concerns and what I was looking for, and she executed my vision flawlessly! I came in without an appointment and was quickly attended to on a busy Saturday morning. I had a Manicure and Pedicure completed by Callie (Manicure) and Chi (Pedicure). I loved how they did my nails. I got a Pink French tip on both (sorry they are way cuter in person than the pic shows). I added a flower on a single nail and chrome to all. Overall great experience! Super responsive when requesting service and appointments, got a hybrid set here for $120! Atmosphere was great, very cleanly and friendly staff! So far - liking my lashes! A tad bit uneven but great overall! Will see how they hold up. Possibly worst nail experience I've ever had. Parking is horrible, There were no spots available because of the yoga studio so I had to park in an apartment complex down the street. The lady used an electric nail file to cut my cuticles instead of soaking them in warm water to soften my skin. She made 2 of my cuticles bleed with the electric nail file. Never got a hand massage with lotion at the end either. Completely rushed job. Nothing about my manicure was legit, and it cost a whopping $55 before tip. Insane. RUN. read more

My daughter who is 6, and I just visited this salon for the first time. We live nearby but for some reason were going somewhere else. This place is stunning inside so open and bright! We had the most amazing experience and everyone from the manager to our nail technicians were amazing. The owner was very responsive and kind in addressing my concerns, and May made an effort to fix my nails. I appreciate her sincerity and the multiple apologies regarding the service my friend received from Vanessa. As someone who is quite picky about my nails, I've realized that this may not be the best salon for fancy designs or detailed work. While I think May is sweet and genuinely tries her best, her innovative techniques is not my cup of tea. When I request a specific color, I would appreciate having the opportunity to test it out to ensure it meets my expectations, especially since colors can change or oxidize. For example, I asked for a gold cat eye but it was too dark so I changes the color to white cat eye, but unfortunately, no one could locate that color. May did her best to improvise, but the result ended up appearing more silver than white. Nevertheless, I want to thank May for her efforts and apologize if I seem like a tough customer to please. I got my nails done on Monday March 9th for a trip I am on for 10 days. I'm sad to say that within 5 days, 4 of my nails have fallen off. I am disappointed as I got a full gelX set and expected them to last for the 10 days of my trip. It was my first time here and I had a great experience at the salon, however I will not be returning due to the quality of the nails. Also they did have a sign that said within 7 days of your appointment you can come and get any nails fixed, but I am on vacation and can't make it back. It also makes me wonder if this is a common occurrence. read more

I just recently moved back to the area and am looking for my new pedicure spot. Nailscope's reviews looked promising so thought I'd give them a try. First off, I will say the salon is beautiful and front desk staff was great. However, my nail tech, Nancy, was either having a bad day or perhaps just hates giving pedicures. I came in with my mom so they sat us together. One would think the two techs would stay in sync with one another. Instead, my tech rushed my moms tech along in an obvious manner. My moms tech started her timer for massage, my tech started after her, got up for a decent amount of time mid massage, but somehow was still done with my massage first. We both paid for the higher pedicure for the extras. I also didn't love that neither tech came back to help us get ready to leave. My mom liked her tech, so maybe I'll give the salon another try, but I personally would want a different tech. Three stars because the price was fair, salon was clean, and my pedicure was decent. She always listens to what I want and my nails last so long each time! I am always happy with my nails after being done by Jane! I highly recommend her! Update: visited the evening of 12/12 and was told Tom still didn't work there. Had a pedicure that I shouldn't have paid $20 for, much less $45. It lasted less than 30 min and there was no massage. I was kind of shocked when it ended to be honest. I'll continue seeing Ann but may need to find somewhere else for toes. Keeping for of the stars for Ann & salon cleanliness. I've been getting my nails done by Ann for a long time. She left Nails by Ann and there was no question I'd follow her wherever she went. I was SO pleasantly surprised with this salon though. It's super clean and really nicely decorated. Everything feels fresh and new. I like that they do complementary drinks and snacks and the services are well priced. I really enjoyed my pedicures with Tom but heard he left recently and haven't had that service since. I'm hopeful my next pedicure there will be just as good though. Regardless it's nice to have a nail salon in the area that feels more upscale. read more
