I'm 100% sure I've found my favorite Indian spot in Baltimore. I've only tried 3 places in total. The other 2 popular places shall remain nameless (they're on Charles St). They were okay but missing the authentic Indian flavors and spices I know and love. Namaste was pretty empty on the Thursday night we tried them out. Maybe only one other party dining in besides us, but endless pick-up orders. I think this place is a fan's favorite in the area. We were handed menus the minute we sat down, waters and papadum came within seconds. Score! We started with Chicken Momos (Nepalese chicken dumplings). Delicious! I've never had them before. In fact, I don't remember seeing them on the menu at other Indian restaurants I've tried. Do get them! My friend went with Chicken Tandoori. Yall *drool* by far some of the best I've ever eaten. Spices were there, char was there, tenderness was there, it lacked nothing. We (yes, it was my friend's dish), but we, ate it all right there. No leftovers to take home. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. Loved it, but it didn't stand a chance on the table next to that Chicken Tandoori. My chicken tikka marsala was moist, tender, and served poppin' hot. As others have mentioned, it did get a little dry. It wasn't when served, but the leftovers did dry out a bit. The flavors stayed - Score. We also ordered garlic naan. Who doesn't love garlic naan. The naan here tasted scrumptious but was paper thin. It was just as thin as papadum. Too thin for me. I'd pass next time. There is a bar, a few whiskeys, vodkas, and wines. No wine I recognized so we went with Maker's Mark with a splash of cranberry. They were served in tall glass, indeed with a splash of cranberry and a heavy pour. If they had happy hour I'd be there. 5-star review all around. Highly recommend. Highly suggested. I'm heading back soon for Chicken Tandoori and Chicken Curry. See you there! read more

Very disappointed! I ordered chicken tikka masala and garlic naan via DoorDash. My naan came cold and the chicken was tough and had zero flavor! The sauce tasted like they simply mixed tomato paste and heavy cream, that's it. This is my all time favorite Indian meal and I am a desi food connoisseur. I know what it's supposed to taste like. Sometimes it's hard to be adventurous with foreign desserts, but please do yourself a favor and order the gulab jamun if you've never had it. I had a boss from Gujarat who would make these delicious syrupy donut holes for the team on special occasions and holidays. I was phening for spice so I wanted to give this place a try.. The ambiance was warm, beautiful and elegant. The food was flavorful and tasty. I got the Lamb Saag and my brother got chicken tikka marsala..all meals come with rice.. The rice was fluffy and cooked to perfection.. The sauce is spot on with just the right spices to your liking and palate and taste! I like "medium spice". But it's all good, and not over spiced. NAMASTE BALTIMORE IS AUTHENTIC! They keep true to the entrée's form and the real way it's supposed to be cooked and prepared. Very generous portion size, just look at the amount of chicken you get in my posting picture! They're entire menu bursts with taste and authenticity! Found this place with my coworkers, decent find! We wanted indian food near work and stumbled upon this. You'll find the typical briyani, eggplants, chick peas and others here. We got garlic naan, that's a must every time! Otherwise the typical stuff satisfied us. I do have to say the spicy chili sauce is spicy so don't overdo it! Parking is difficult in this area, it's street so know how to parallel park. Lastly it is on $$$ end, so come with a friend to share plates! read more

Went there last week with my family, Chilli chicken was really dry, burnt and with very little quantity, paneer tikka masala was okay, butter chicken had no taste, completely bland. One of my favorite Indian restaurants in Baltimore and its metro area. I went back recently and noticed they've added some new items to their menu. I was really impressed with their "bullet naan". It was so spicy, which I really liked. I recommend it if you're someone who doesn't mind crying at bread. This time around I tried their masala chai. I'd never done it before, but I'm glad I did. I will probably continue to order it in future visits. A note: the portions are large enough to share, and the price reflects it. Despite sharing or not, the price also reflects the quality and flavors of the food. It's superior! Huge plus is that none of their food feels greasy or oily. I like the ambience; it's casual enough, but it can also translate for a nice dinner date. Despite having a crowd, it never feels loud in there. I don't know how. Ordered the butter chicken, momos and chai. The chicken was really overcooked so butter chicken sauce didn't really blend well with the texture. Truly our favorite Indian food in all of Baltimore. The vast majority of our orders are takeout so please excuse the poor picture quality but this food is delicious and consistent every time and is priced right. 10/10! The food was incredible here! I catered from this restaurant for a university event almost a year ago. Their food was the highlight of everyone's night. I decided to visit today with my family, of which members came all the way from India. We really enjoyed the Aloo Jeera dish (with some extra spice lol) and the Mango Lassi! The staff was incredibly wonderful. Very service-orientated and attentive to all diners' needs. They gave us the cutest seating area for my family. Really felt like Little India in the restaurant. This place has great tasting food but really bad service =( I placed an order on their online website and called about 3 times inquiring about my order when it was an hour later and it hadn't been delivered. The lady said she would call me back in 5 minutes and then she did and said it was coming in 10 minutes. That should have been the end of that but then she called me back to say she confused my order with another order and then never called me back with the update. I called back twice and she said again she would call me back and then never did. It was beyond frustrating. Food finally showed up like much much later after I had given up and was going to ask for a refund via my credit card because I didn't want to deal with them again. Just tried delivery from them. It was great! I would give more than 5 stars for their delivery service if I could. It arrived under 30 mins. I ordered goat biryani and mango lassi. Lassi was awesome! It was made with a lot of mango purée than the usual restaurant quality lassi. Biryani was different. The meat was well cooked and the rice was flavorful. It was very aromatic with curry leaves and whole cashews which you do not usually see in a traditional biryani. It didn't taste like a regular biryani. Well, there are literally hundreds of varieties of Indian biryanis, so cannot complain that this does not taste like one I am familiar with. Very satisfied with the overall experience! read more

I see why Namaste has 5 stars! I went there on a first date and while the date didn't go well, I absolutely loved the food and experience of the restaurant! There was a mishap with the seating, so it started out bad but we requested another table in the middle section since we couldn't get a booth (it was busy) and the host was so nice. The manager, who is an Eastern Indian lady, was very sweet, too, and she came by the table to check on us multiple times. They really want you to have a positive experience here, and we both did. The food was incredible, and I mentioned to her that when I lived in Seattle I had the best Indian food in my life and this place was definitely the closest to the best Indian food I've had in my life, here in America. I had chicken tikaa masala with basmati rice, and an appetizer with crab meat, which was so delicious. I definitely plan on returning and trying out more items. The garlic Naan was phenomenal, too. Highly recommended! Excellent place to take a date or just have a family meal. It was busy when we went but still had places to sit, so this must be a popular place to get great Indian food. We had more takeout from Namaste Baltimore tonight. We ordered it with medium spice which was good but there were not enough depth and complexity flavors. We had mixed vegetable pakora,, aloo gobi cauliflower, goat curry, , baingan Bharta, , chicken saag, dal tadka, Naan and roti. . All the dishes were good. The dal tadka was bland, tasting mostly of lentils and water, but without additional layers of spices. Once again, the chicken saag was a star, bright green spinach chunks of chicken, and slivers of ginger. read more

Namaste Baltimore knows how to treat its customers! The customer service and food were almost too good to be true. I visited with a large group hosting a farewell dinner for my father who loves Indian food - we were treated quite well and feasted like royalty on many of their vegetarian and seafood dishes. Just about anything on the menu was excellent, I had the salmon tikka which was immaculately seasoned and came out sizzling on a mini barbecue. Delicious indeed. The owner treated us to every naan offered on the menu but my favorite was the sweet naan which was toasted with currants. The adults were too full for dessert but the owner treated the kids w homemade vanilla ice cream and mango lassis. Now I'm a fan of good Indian cuisine, but this may be one of my favorite places, at the moment. I was actually planning on ordering from another spot but they happened to be closed. I saw the positive reviews and decide to give 'Namaste' a try. I ordered through Yelp/Grub Hub and the process was seamless. We decided to try the following: 1) GARLIC NAAN - Leavened wheat bread baked in a tandoor oven. Delicious. buttery/olive oiled goodness w/ actual pieces of diced garlic on top. Truly a fantastic accompaniment to the meal. SCORE! 2) VEGETABLE SAMOSAS - Traditional Indian deep-fried pastries stuffed with potatoes, peas and light spices. Two per order. How can you NOT love a good samosa. These certainly did not disappoint. Samosas can have a tendency to be too oily but these were perfect. Crisp & flaky on the outside and fluffy inside. SCORE! 3) MULLIGATAWNY SOUP - Vegetable broth and lentils with special Indian spices. This was an okay dish. Everything had so much flavor and this soup simply did not. It wasn't bad, by any means. It just didn't have the aromatic hand all the other dishes had. 4) VEGETABLE KORMA - Mixed vegetables cooked with onions and tomatoes in a creamy cashew sauce. This comes in: mild, medium, hot. I chose 'mild'. Now, THIS was a standout FAVORITE! The flavor profile was amazing. True deliciousness! I will be ordering this again in the near future. It comes w/ basmati rice and yummy yumm yumm in my tummy tum tum. 5) VEGETABLE BIRYANI - Long grain aromatic basmati rice cooked with mixed vegetables. Flavored with Indian herbs and spices, saffron, nuts and raisins. This dish also comes in: mild, medium, hot. I chose 'mild'. What I got was FIRE!!!! One spoonful and it was a wrap for me. I called the restaurant and told them and they apologized and IMMEDIATELY made this in the mild version. I went to pick it up. Absolutely delicious!!!! As an aside, the restaurant itself, is really quite beautiful. the lanterns all over were a really nice touch. The staff was incredibly polite/ professional.
