Chicken curry
Stefan S.

This restaurant has really great food. They have a large menu and many choices and the spice heat can be varied and modified to your liking. My friend started off with the glass of wine and we got both some dumplings and garlic naan to start with. She got the hot chicken curry dish. I wanted to try something new so I got the tandoori sampler platter and it was really good. The garlic naan was some of the best naan that I have ever had and my tandoori platter was also delicious. I opted to have the rice pudding to finish off my meal and it was so good with the added cardamon on top. I was surprised this restaurant was so empty on a Friday evening at dinner time. I will most definitely be back and highly recommend a visit to this wonderful Indian restaurant. I had made a reservation, but it doesn't seem like I actually needed one.

Yum!!! This is our go to for Indian while visiting Baltimore. It's quiet, never crowded, atmosphere is good, service attentive, and the good delicious. Portions are def shareable if you can decide what to share.

I've eaten here multiple times and enjoyed it every time! We tried the samosas, veggie and chicken momos, plus various curries. They make sure to ask how spicy you want it as well. Big portion sizes. I also tried kulfi for the first time! The staff is so friendly and attentive. My go to Indian restaurant in Baltimore. Parking available on both sides of the street outside the restaurant!

The atmosphere was beautiful and very serene. We were alone at first and slowly but surely people started showing up for dinner. The staff was very attentive, able to answer all of questions and very gracious about it. The portions were huge! This will be dinner tomorrow too! Amazing food, so much flavor

Chicken Tikka Msala

My husband and I grabbed take out from here - convenient location on Cold Spring Ave but parking is limited. We ordered 2 orders of the chicken tikka masala and it was $50. For this price I was disappointed because this was good, but not great. The sauce was very watery and could have been more flavorful. Like I said, for this price point my standards are higher, but this taste matches some much more inexpensive Indian take out we've had in Baltimore. Everything did taste very fresh though! Service was quick and our order was correct. My husband said that the dining room ambiance was very nice if you choose to eat dine in!

The service is solid and the servers are quick to refill waters and clear the table The food is the star of this review. Their Baltimore Restaurant Week menu was a 7 course (!!) meal that was truly an experience and absolutely worth the price. My favorites were the chicken cutlets, the sorbet, and the white chicken curry. Honorable mention to the side dishes because we got refills and they were so good. When we first arrived, the restaurant was pretty busy, but as it got closer to closing it became much less crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable. This is a hidden gem dining experience in Hampden. I've already recommended it to friends and will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

I had the Kolhapuri Goat Curry & Gatlic this Naan bread, both of which are fantastic choices. The broth of the curry was nice and rich with a good level of spice, much of what a good curry should have. The goat itself had a bit more bones than I'd prefer, but overall even those were extremely tender & flavorful. Additionally I had used the Naan bread to help finish up the broth, which ended with a very satisfying comfort meal. The service & ambiance itself was also a pleasure. I personally prefer small establishments to avoid unnecessary noise while dining. Mix that with the incentive staff and you'll definitely enjoy yourself on your vist here, much like I did.

The food arrived hot and well packed. The shrimp were very tasty. Not much crispiness, but that is to be expected with delivery. The sauces that came with it were very delicious. I enjoyed the butter chicken. The chicken was perfectly tender and a good amount. The sauce could have used a bit more flavor in my opinion. I did order mild just to see what the baseline spice was, and would definitely go medium or more next time. The sauce was a nice consistency. The rice was well cooked, but no flavor on its own. I have been to some Indian spots in which the rice itself is very aromatic and flavorful with some spices cooked into it; this was more just basic rice. Still good with the butter chicken. The garlic naan was tasty! Overall, this was a decent spot! I'd order again and try a different spice level and some other menu items. Prices were fair for portions in my opinion.

It's not that it was bad necessarily, other places nearby are just better in my opinion. We ordered two chicken tikka masalas, garlic naan, and paneer pakora. I was disappointed to see, upon returning home, that they only gave us one side of rice for two orders of chicken tikka. That seemed a little strange to me especially since each order of chicken tikka was almost $20. The sauce had nice flavor but the chicken was tough and didn't fall apart like others I've had in the past. I would've preferred butter chicken but couldn't find it on their menu - maybe I just overlooked it or they have it listed under another name? The paneer pakora was OK, the breading was super thick and not crispy enough. The mint cilantro chutney it came with was unexpectedly spicy. I can handle my spice but I've just never had green chutney have that much of a kick to it. I didn't try the naan but my boyfriend said he's had better. All together it was $60 which seemed a little steep for what we got. The inside is surprisingly cute though and they do offer a lunch buffet. Would I return? Probably not just given the other options in the area.

There's a few options to choose from and after trying each one, I think Nepal House has the best prices for the best quality and flavor. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo. Each came with its own serving of rice and included generous chunks of meat. They didn't just fill up the container with sauce and call it a day, the serving size definitely reflected the price unlike some other places. The lamb vindaloo was full of flavor and spice with soft squares of potatoes. The butter chicken was creamy and comforting with the right spice level. It's not the best Indian I've ever had but it'll do in a pinch. I was crazing papadam and they do that very well. I like the tamarind and mint sauce and the yogurt sauce is standard but yummy. The butter chicken is flavorful and the lamp as well. The naan was okay and the biryani is quite bland. The worst thing for me is how dry the chicken is. Even though all the chicken was covered in sauce, they were somehow very dry. I'm glad I tried Nepal Place but I would try a different place before returning here.
