My first time trying this restaurant. I got the peri peri chicken bowl with extra hummus. For an additional side I got the sweet potatoes with feta and pepitas. The sweet potato side dish is a bit spicy but very good!!! I really enjoyed the chicken bowl. All of the food was full of flavor and I prefer the lemon herb sauce. It's my favorite. The Hanover location is busy but has better tasting food than the Waugh Chapel area. The service was quick. read more

Yesterday, we were on our way to Washington w/ a bus group for a "D.C. Cultural & Entertainment Getaway" weekend. First stop....Arundel Mills Mall in Maryland! Once we arrived there, we spent some time in the Live! Casino. Well, you know that I became hungry but was usnure as to what I wanted to eat....no suprise there-lol. Yelp as well as the mall directory led us across the street to Nando's Peri-Peri. We thought that we would be eating some Mexican food and went to the front entrance and spoke to the hostess. She was kind enough to give us menus and explain that Nando's Peri-Peri serves African-Portuguese food. Excitement for two reasons....this was our first time trying African-Portuguese food and the menus had such beautiful artwork! I will elaborate in a few... Nando's Peri-Peri has a system in which you order at the front with the cashier (who exuded patience as we asked her questions), pay your bill and then go to your placed table and wait for the server to bring the food. As we waited for our meals, we took time to admire the establishment's lighting/colorful decor which included art on the walls and bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Artist Nqabutho Phakathi has several pieces of her artwork exclusively in the restaurant on their menus, etc. Our gorgeous menu had an African-American woman carrying her infant. Please look up Nqabutho Phakathi's work on social media...just fantastic! Also, it is genius to place some of her art on their menus. Cool personal touches included their "No Judgement Here" napkins as well as Nando's Peri-Peri specialty sauces (range from Plain-ish to Extra Hot). Nice light, refreshing Pineapple Lemonade! The grilled pineapples added a burst of wonderful flavor on my Chicken Burger and my French Fries were well seasoned. I was told that the Quarter Chicken w/ Red Skin Mashed Potatoes was good. I'm so excited to write this review !!Personally, this brings back a lot of memories, from my few years of stay in England/Scotland :) Each time we craved spicy non-Indian food, Nandos was always our first pick! Nandos is a Portuguese influenced cuisine, that originated in South Africa and slowly spread to the UK, few middle eastern locations and now to the USA. This place is most popular for its fire roasted chicken marinated in the Peri Peri Spice, the portions come in the whole/half/quarter sizes along with a bunch of options for sides like, Peri Peri fries, mushy peas (seasoned with mint, parsley and some hot chili), corn on the cob, garlic bread that's smothered with garlic herb butter and coleslaw. Apart from the chicken itself, they also serve chicken sandwiches in pita/rolls, wings, spicy chicken livers gravy with a Portuguese roll (one of my favorites!) I think I've pretty much had everything on their menu, and I'd say if it's your first time just go for the fire roasted chicken, it's unbeatable, there were times when I managed to finish the whole chicken myself! Nandos chicken is, fire roasted with the skin which i don't think is very common and I LOVE IT!! Crispy texture on the outside and nice moist & juicy chicken to bite into. There's different spice levels like plain-ish to extra-hot that you would mention while ordering, and if you want to shoot up the spice level further, there's a bunch of sauces to smother on your chicken available on the table. I fell in love with Nando's when I lived in Qatar and I've had it in multiple other countries. I don't think that the American restaurants are as good as what I've had other places but it's still worth going to. I had the chicken thighs with hot sauce, mashed potatoes and a side of hummus with pita bread. The hummus was very good! The skin on the thighs needed to be cooked more but we're still good. I only did a pick up order and I wasn't sure where to go at first. They forgot to put my drink with my food but it was quickly corrected. I had the chicken caesar wrap with fries and a pineapple lemonade. The wrap was delicious, creamier than I expected but it was a pleasant surprise. I wish the fries had more seasoning on them. I literally had to hold a fry up to light and look closely to see if it was even seasoned and it barely had seasoning sprinkled on it. The pineapple lemonade almost tasted just like plain pineapple juice but it was still good. The restaurant is incredibly dark and I can't imagine sitting in here to eat. read more

Usually get the wing platter with fries. The extra extra hot sauce in the small black bottle is a must for me. These visits are limited. Trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But you have to enjoy the finer things on occasion. The fries dipped in the extra extra hot sauce is that for me. You can order at the table via your phone. Collect points to earn cash off future visits. I have tried many things off the menu and haven't found anything I didn't like. You can't go wrong here. What an amazing recommendation by my friend who took me to dinner! Peri Peri is a Peruvian/Mexican fusion restaurant. Their menu has tons of options like their famous and flavorful grilled chicken, sandwiches, salads, and awesome sides like their yellow rice, green peas with spice, and house potatoes aka french fries. I decided to get their quarter chicken with two sides of coleslaw and peas. After ordering I went to pick my sauces. They have several available and decided on medium pepper sauce, which had just a hint of spice--just enough to make my mouth burn, but also enough to balance and make the chicken and peas really pop! The chicken was grilled to perfection and had a great crispy skin on top. The chicken was very juicy and popped so well with the peas. The peas were very smooth and even without the sauce had a great amount of spice. The coleslaw was creamy and had a light crunch. This is an easy 5 stars in my book! I attended a Yelp Elite event at this location and the food and service were absolutely phenomenal. We started things off with an assortment of pitas, hummus, olives and mixed/seasoned nuts. They have a special drizzle to go with the this which is very yummy. For my entree I had the lemon herb chicken (super juicy & delicious!) rice, squash and fries. They have an assortment of peri-peri sauces ranging in levels of spiciness and flavors and I tried them all. My absolute favorite was the extra extra hot one (it comes in a black bottle) - it was spicy enough to wake up your taste buds but it didn't end up overpowering the taste of your food. If spice isn't your thing the mild and the lemon sauces were delicious as well. For dessert we had a pastry which was to die for! The crust was nice and flaky and the creme inside was still warm. They are sold individually so I definitely recommend grabbing one! Also for dessert they have a Dole Whip machine. Yes. You read that correctly. For anyone who likes Disney World (or anyone with tastebuds haha) this is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! The restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated. Was apprehensive to try this cuz it's a chain restaurant, but it's legitimately good. It's wildly popular in Europe and is just now starting to come to the US. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. The food came out pretty quick. They also have Coke freestyle machines and Dole whip as well which makes up for not having servers. Both soda machines were not working, even though the employees tried and tried to fix the one that was able to only dispense water. The line was long when anyone tried to get water. People rave to me about this place, but every time I go in I just don't see it. My first visit was by far the worst. However my lady (who was with me last visit, and agreed with my ramen packet analysis) tells me that that she has been eating Nando's behind my back, and that I REEEEEEEAAAAALLY need to try the "Thigh and Mighty Sandwich". She says that this sandwich will single handedly change my opinion of Nando's, I just didn't get the right thing the time before. The Thigh and Mighty Sandwich: Two boneless thighs stacked on a toasted Portguese roll with arugula, tomato, pickled red onions and PERinaise. While I give it credit for not being horrible, it did little to make me want to continue eating at Nando's. I have no complaints about service, cleanliness, or anything. I am just not crazy about the food. A chicken thigh is the most flavorful fatty most wonderful part of the chicken. I am giving this review 2 Stars because I find it really really hard to give 1. When we lived in DC, we LOVED Nando's. We took people there all the time when they visited. When we moved to the Bmore area, we were happy to see that we wouldn't have to give up Nando's with the move. We were walking around Arundel Mills doing some Christmas shopping and saw Nando's in the food court, SCORE. So, on we went. I ordered the Heirloom Tomato, Halloumi and Chicken Salad and my husband had the Chicken Breast Sandwich. We ordered, got our number and sat down with our drink. About 15 minutes goes by and they bring over our order. I notice immediately that the salad they handed me wasn't mine. It had cauliflower on it, which I know didn't come in my salad. So, I said I don't think this is mine and the server asked to see my receipt. He said, no this is right. After some back and forth he went and asked someone else and they said he took the salad to the wrong table. OK. He came over and said they would make another one. My husband was going to wait to eat, but after 10 more minutes, we just decided to share the sandwich and his sides and then share the salad. Another 15 minutes goes by and I just went up and asked to just cancel the order at this point because we had finished his whole meal and there was no salad in sight. He said no because they were still working on it (I think at this point they forgot TBH). It comes out about 10 minutes later with no dressing and no sauce on the chicken and no grilled halloumi cheese, but I wasn't about to send it back again. We were eating it and a manager was going around asking how things were and when she got to my table I said we waited long for my salad, etc. and she just said are you interested in ordering dessert? (lol...um no). Anyways, I used to love Nandos. But I have never had a more bland salad. I also have never waited that long for food at a fast-casual restaurant before. I ordered my food on the app to ensure it would be ready in time since I was catching an advance screening. I arrived 5 minutes early and Ryan, the manager was on top of the order. He greeted me politely and got me my order as soon as it was ready. When he realized I was going to eat there he promptly got me a plate. As I ate, I noticed he was just about everywhere zooming about to get orders ready, clean tables, check on customers, help with the cashier, etc. When I spoke to him, he said a staff member called out and he didn't want to let the customer's down. The whole time he continued to work multiple stations, he never once showed signs of annoyance or negative vibe. Instead, he greeted every guest with a smile and was quick to help them. Nando's! I love Nando's! It's so flavorful and I love chicken! They have a sauce for everybody at Nando's! This location seemed kinda quiet, but I doubt that it normally is, being in the food court at the mall. When we were there, it was quiet and there were very few people in the restaurant, even though it was a little after lunchtime (maybe 3 other tables being used?). This aided in the speed of service, I imagine. Last time I went to a Nando's, I had pieces of chicken. This time I went with a sandwich, as did my partner. I had a "thigh and mighty", which was delicious, boneless chicken thighs with a peri peri-mayo sauce on a bun. This was amazing! It came with two sides - I went with fries and corn-on-the-cob. I have a co-worker who is literally trying to turn everyone on our team into Nando's lovers. This even swayed my lunch destination choice. But it was all for the veggie burger. I've been to Nando's a few times, and I've enjoyed each visit. But today, I was thoroughly impressed with the veggie burger. Since I decided to be meat free this week, the well seasoned, slightly spicy veggie burger, which was topped with a yogurt sauce and chili jam, didn't have me missing meat at all. In all honesty the veggie burger from Nando's was one of the best that I've had. Now when I'm not flexing my vegetarian abilities, I opt for their chicken sandwiches, which are always juicy and packed full of flavor. I love the addition of their hot sauce varieties, and their seasoned fries are a great accompaniment. Depending on your dish of choice, the portion sizes may vary, and you may leave still feeling a bit hungry with a dent in your wallet. I am a regular at this restaurant and for good reason. Their food is amazing. I usually get the 1/2 peri-peri chicken which is their most famous dish. The chicken is very juicy and cooked just right. I usually get fries on the side and these are salty, crispy and just fills me up nicely. They're also known for their assortment of sauces. I like to mix them all together and dip all my food in them. I highly recommend having their sauces. Yummm. Outside of the food, the service and ambiance are great. Once you get there, the hostess takes you to your table and hands you the menu. You have to go up to the register to order and pay. They have the soda machines where you enter your drink through a touchpad. The restaurant gets a bit crowded sometimes so hopefully they'll expand their area. (Probably no though lol) But this place is in such a nice location. It's inside the Arundel Mills mall and right across from the casinos. My friends and I usually head here to eat then go shop/gamble some money. I've only had their chicken every time I've been here. So next time, I'm going to try their sandwiches.
