You get 4 quarters. 2 breast/wings & w/2 thigh/leg. As usual the chicken here is remarkable. This meal comes w/2 sides we ordered the fries & yellow rice. Nando has several locations in Chicago & the suburbs. They all serve the same high quality delicious chicken. Yeah I guess you can say I'm a huge fan of their food. More than just serving awesome food Nando Peri Peri stepped up big time during the 2020 Covid year and provided FREE meals for hospital workers & the first responders like the firemen & police. This says a lot about this restaurant organization. This is when I first became aware of Nando because my wife works in a hospital I was also told that they bring some select employees to Johannesburg South Africa where Nando Peri Peri originated. My cousin was visiting and wanted to meet up for dinner. We wanted to find a spot that is not in Florida and we decided to go the Nando's PERi-PERi! Nando's brings you Southern Africa cuisine. What brings flavors to their dishes is the sauce! Well, it is in the name it has to be. We came in on a Monday night and we were the only ones at the time. But as the night went on, more and more hungry customers came in. You take a seat and you can order up front or place an order at your table with a QR Code and it connects to their site and pay for it. We decided to order at the table via QR code. Pretty easy! The food came out quickly and a server brought it to your table. I ordered the Sweet Potato Halloumi Wrap. The wrap has sweet potatoes, grilled halloumi, arugula, lemon honey yogurt and sweet chili jam. The wrap did not disappoint. It was well balanced with all the ingredients. You can taste the hint of lemon and paired well with the chili sauce. The sweet potatoes were good and had a soft texture. I love arugula so it worked well with the wrap. I shared PERi Chips, PERi Mac and Brussels Sprouts. The Chips are fries and they were crisp and hot. Seasoned perfectly, the Mac is made with cheddar and Colby cheeses and had a nice coating of breadcrumbs on the top. It was creamy and rich. Lastly, the Brussels were dressed in PERi ranch. I didn't like it as I expected a little more roast to the Brussels. The sauces I used for the wrap and dip were the Garlic and the Hot Sauce but there is a ton to choose from. For dessert we got the Naughty Nata which is a Portuguese custard. I really loved this as it had a some cinnamon sugar. I've been waiting YEARS to try Nando's Peri-Peri, and let me tell you, it was absolutely worth the wait. I had this place bookmarked on Yelp for at least five years after a recommendation from a friend, and finally getting to experience it was everything I hoped for. There are a few of these in the area and the one nearest me *finally* was the one located in the outdoor mall. You might have to look to find it, but once you try the food, you'll remember its spot. The ordering process is simple -- you order at the counter, get a number, and the food is brought to your table. The flavor... wow. The chicken is perfectly grilled, tender, and packed with that signature Peri-Peri spice. I went with one of the signature flame-grilled chickens, and it had the perfect balance of heat and flavor. The sides were also a standout -- I loved the spicy rice and flame grilled corn on the cob. The casual vibe and quick service only added to the experience. If I can convince you further, I went here twice in two days. If you need further proof, an entire footie club team came in on the second day. We love Nando's. This location is in the Old Orchard outdoor mall, and there's free garage parking available. Today they had a sign at the front to please wait to be seated. A hostess took us to a table and explained we could order at the counter or with the QR code she provided. We looked over the menu and because there was no line, we chose to order at the counter. We ordered one 1/2 chicken meal with fries and perinaise and one nandoca's choice with peri mac. We both commented on how quickly the food came out to our table and it was hot and fresh. We order Nando's from delivery apps often and man it's so much tastier in the restaurant while it's fresh! Nandoca's choice is my go to and I love it. The coleslaw is one of my favorites anywhere and it's a perfect contrast to the garlic bread. 1/2 chicken meal is a great option if you've never tried Nando's before and want to get the real experience. Specifically, the cauliflower, for $6, was underwhelming--it seemed overcooked and consisted mostly of small, soggy pieces that felt like the leftover scraps. As for the wings, they were the smallest I've ever encountered--less than 2 inches in length, resembling frog legs more than chicken wings. I honestly questioned whether they were even chicken. The only redeeming part of the meal was the mashed potatoes, which were decent. I used to love the food here, but it's clear the quality has drastically declined. I recently was here and decided to come back and try some more things. I wanted to try the 1/4 leg but they were out and the wait time was 40 mins. So i ended up getting the breast instead. I ordered it medium. It wasn't too spicy had just enough kick. I also love that they have a sauce bar so if you're feeling something else you can always change it up. The peri ranch sauce is delicious. I was dipping everything in it. Also the peri chips (fries) were well seasoned and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The pineapple lemonade was not the move, maybe next time I'll try the strawberry lemonade or peach tea. Honesty I'd go back justfor the garlic bread. It was so delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! I highly recommend this place when you are around Oakbrook Center. This place has great ambiance. It has outdoor seating too (which is open in. summers only). But, ample seating space inside too. The place has beautiful hanging lights throughout the restaurant. You will see everyone working and not walking or sitting idle like i have seen few other restaurants. We ordered Veggie burger (Extra Hot) sauce: it was really delicious. It came with fries. The fries were crispy and the restaurant let us try their new ranch - Peri Peri Ranch. Avocado and Roasted Pepper Bowl: this was very good too. The rice and Corns were really warm which was giving a very good taste. Pineapple lemonade: this was good too. Different than i have tried but was of my taste. This place is famous for Chicken which i have tried in the past (when i used to eat meat) and trust me its very very good. They have a sauce station where you can fill little cups of sauce you want to try or have with your meal. The restaurant has restrooms connected to the mall restrooms. It has been a while since I've been to a Nando's, and I actually was able to check this location out due to a Yelp experience that occurred a couple years back. As with other Nando's, there are combo meals, sandwiches, wraps, pitas, bowls, salads, snack items, and sides. I usually go for the PERi-PERi wings in medium, well done, with sides of red skin mashed potatoes and Portuguese rice. The food came out piping out, grilled perfectly, and the chicken was still juicy. I love adding additional garlic PERi-PERi sauce all over, too! I'm glad I was able to stop by again, as both the food and the service was still on point; the space is bright and well-maintained, where the tables and the seating were clean for the next round of patrons. If you park in the north side of the orange garage, it's only a short walk out of the garage til you see the shop. I tried the two kids meals for my littles. The chicken breast kids meal is not as good as the chicken thigh and leg. The chicken breast was a bit dry and has a sour marinade which the kids didn't like. I thought it was just fine, especially dipping in the peri-ranch sauce. The youngest liked the thigh and leg, as the meat is much more tender and the salt level is just right for her. It was finally time to try this Peri Peri thing I've been hearing about for years. Long story short, the food here is excellent! On the other hand, I'm turned off by the weird seating and ordering process. I was seated by a hostess and instructed to order online...from my seat in the restaurant. That is just bizarre. Why can't I choose my own seat and order at the counter? It would be five times faster. After my food arrived, I switched seats. Later I saw the hostess seat another solo diner in the same spot. So strange. They would function much more smoothly as a straight counter-service outfit. Anyway, the food is really delicious. I appreciate that they offer a nice variety of vegetable sides such as corn and cauliflower. (The latter is excellent.) The chicken is outstanding. I definitely want to come back, but it for sure will be for takeout. read more

I really REALLY love peri-peri chicken, and Nando's - in general - is one of my favorite places to get it. There have been a few other locations that have great peri-peri and African birdseye chili chicken, but I particularly like how consistent Nando's is. Their chicken is always tender and juicy; their sides are always prepared nicely; and they're generally pretty fast when we eat-in. I've had better, but I've never had as consistently good peri-peri chicken elsewhere. Their Macho Peas are also one of my favorite dishes! The staff here are very friendly, very accommodating, and work quickly. At times, I feel like they might be a little understaffed, but do their best to keep up with the demands during peak hours. They keep the restaurant clean, they always serve up the food as quickly as its put up (you can see the line from most of the seats in the restaurant), and the fruity iced tea always flows. The singular downside is that the food preparation is slower than at the Oakbrook Terrace or Naperville Nando's Peri Peri Chicken locations, both of which seem to have more staff on hand (at least from what I could see). This Nando's location is moderately easy to get to *IF* you know your way around Old Orchard. They're near the former Bloomingdale's big white building in the North West corner of the Old Orchard mall complex. Park in the northeastern-most section of the Orange Garage on Lavergne Ave., then walk northwest past the management office towards the old Bloomingdale's entrance (there's a mall sign showing the entrance). Nando's will be just past that entrance. If you're carrying out, there's a service round-about there in front of the management office - just make sure not to park there. If you don't know the mall layout (and it's a little complicated), they can be a bit difficult to find being at one of the less-busy ends, and entirely invisible from the street. As of May 1st 2024, Google Maps has the pin in the wrong location (though an update has been suggested). The Westfield Old Orchard website map has it accurately located. I think their location holds them back a little, so I hope they eventually relocate to one of the more accessible entrances like how CPK or Epic Burger are located. If they were easier to get to, we would probably eat here more, and I think they'd get more casual traffic if the restaurant were visible from the road. read more

I always wanted to go to Nando's ever since Niall Horan from One Direction loves it here. This is my first time and it is worth it. I went twice to Nando's and I had the same meal. I tried the Lemon and herb chicken w/ their fries. The peri per sauce is delicious!!! I bought two bottles. The lemon and herb and the garlic peri peri sauce. The chicken is super juicy. The workers are very friendly and there was no line when I went. The music is not too loud and it is perfect for you to enjoy your meal with friends and/or loved ones. Came here for lunch. I had the 12 wings entree. The coleslaw was delicious. The wings were grilled the skin was crispy. We tried lots of sauces. They had a good amount of heat and you can get it really hot. I don't like overly vinegary sauces. This place is definitely a chicken place. Probably won't be back. read more

The only knock about this place is that it's kinda hard to find in the mall, so you do have to walk for like 5-10 minutes after you get out of your car. I had to remove a star because the last few times I've ordered, they've either run out of mild sauces (lemon herb or peri-tamer) or the chicken has been so overcooked, it's like chewing chicken jerky. I believe they parboil or precook the chicken ahead of time because the last few times, the chicken did not taste fresh. We ordered the chicken thighs and they were so dry and rubbery - like it was reheated. Fries are still good though. Hope they can fix how they make chicken. read more
