I normally don't go to places with fixed menus, but because Napa Rose has a reputation for being extremely difficult to reserve, I had to try it. We went the day after May the 4th / Star Wars Nite at Disneyland, and after a full day and night of eating Star Wars-themed / park food, this elevated dining experience was a nice change. The 4-course prix fixe menu was excellent from start to finish. We ordered non-alcoholic cocktails, they call them "0 proof" drinks and every single one was delicious and thoughtfully made. They recently remodeled the restaurant, and it looked much more refined than the previous layout. Most of the overall layout stayed the same, but the updated art and small design details made it feel very Californian with a subtle touch of Disney magic. Service was paced perfectly. From seating to check, the entire experience lasted about 2 hours and we never felt rushed. The atmosphere was calm, upscale, and a great way to unwind after the Disneyland crowds. Definitely worth trying at least once if you're able to get a reservation.

Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Portion to Price: 1/5 Overall: This was a go to before but with menu now changing to prefixe it's a bit of a price hike. I'll consider somewhere else. The extended review... Food: 3/5 - We had a 4 course meal with an amuse but I'd say that only one of the dishes really stood out. They did a really good job with the second course (Sorpresine Pasta) which was very rich but so tasty. The other dishes were pretty standard fare compared to other fine dining or mid-range establishments. Service: 5/5 - Awesome waitstaff who were very attentive. Ambiance: 5/5 - A wonderful setting and nice to have a sit down dinner to relax especially if you are taking a break from the park. Portion to Price: 1/5 - $188 a pop which is almost double what it was previously with ala carte.

The Napa Rose was nothing short of amazing! We have been here before and the food was even better this time. We started with the Caviar starter. We had the seared quail, Amazing duck. My wife had the Ribeye and I had the Lamb. Every Bite was absolutely amazing. Julio the master planner of the evening never kept us waiting. The mood is set as soon as you walk into this establishment! It screams elegance in every step! Everything was enjoyable and even better then imagined! Thank you again Napa Rose and Julio for an amazing anniversary dinner! Dennis J Rodriguez II

Dear Future Disney-Loving Daughter-in-Law, I am currently raising your prince. He will dress up for you even though the costume itches, he's a little hot, and he's getting a lot of unexpected attention. He will open your door, pull out your chair, sip tea with his pinky up, and politely eat those tiny tea sandwiches. He'll also support you whether you want to open your own business or spend the entire day in the library chasing your dreams. Just know that chivalry is being raised over here... with a little Disney magic. Your sweet (and slightly Disney-obsessed) mother-in-law to be, Kim C. DISNEY PRINCESS BREAKFAST ADVENTURE REVIEW (before the renovation) Price: Adults and children (ages 3-9) are the same price: $149. Children receive a special gift -- they can choose between a "warrior" set (shield and sword) or a "princess" set (crown, necklace, and wand). One of my sweet kids asked where my gift was. Adults get chocolates. When he realized adults didn't get a special gift, he offered to ask for a princess set for me and trade out his gift. It brought tears to my eyes. I thanked him and reminded him that both of them coming to the event dressed up was a gift in itself and more than enough. From the moment we walked in, everything felt elevated and special. My sons were greeted by their character names -- Prince Naveen and Prince Adam (some even called him the Beast). The setting inside the Grand Californian is beautiful, and the service made the experience feel relaxed rather than rushed. The host explained the flow. Our server and the team were great at guiding us and letting us know that a new princess was available. The Food: It's a three-course breakfast with starters, a main course, and dessert. Starters The meal started with a beautiful three-tier tower of appetizers that felt very "royal." Ours included fluffy Tiana's famous beignets, banana wraps inspired by Princess Jasmine, and coconut cookies & cream chia parfaits topped with edible flowers. There were also savory tea sandwich bites that were light but flavorful. Main Course There was a breakfast buffet for the main course. The Cast Members serving the food also recognized the "princes" and greeted them. The food was plentiful and constantly refreshed. We enjoyed fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon (which disappeared fast), sausages, roasted vegetables, and the cutest Mickey-shaped waffles with syrup and powdered sugar. Everything was warm, fresh, and easy for the kids to enjoy. Desserts The dessert tower had colorful cake pops, tiny tarts, macarons, and fun sweet treats that looked like they belonged at a royal celebration. The chocolate cake pop was rich and fudgy, and the fruit dessert topped with cotton candy added a playful touch. Princess Meet and Greet: What really made the experience magical were the princess interactions. We were able to take photos with several princesses, and each one took time to talk with the kids and make them feel extra special. It didn't feel rushed at all -- they made the whole experience feel like a royal gathering. We were even able to go back and take more pictures. The princesses rotate daily, that day we saw Ariel, Aurora, Pocahontas, Tiana, and Rapunzel. Watching my little "princes" lean into the royal experience -- costume and all -- will be a memory ingrained forever for me. We have watched every Disney movie featuring the princesses who were present that day, so the kids knew the characters from their movies and even had questions ready to ask. Between the princesses, the food, and the magical atmosphere, this truly felt like stepping into a fairy tale. Thanks again to the Cast Members for creating such a magical experience. But the biggest thank you goes to my real-life prince, who grew to be King of our household, -- my husband -- who helps make dreams become reality. He booked this as a Valentine's gift, persuaded the kids to dress up, and planned a full Disney day afterward. I'm thankful they have a grew to love Disney father figure to look up to. After decades together, he's still wooing me. Girls, true love exists -- and after all these years, I'm still living my fairy tale.

What a BEAUTIFUL experience! We got to dine at Napa Rose not only for the first time but also since their new remodel and I am so glad we did. Immediately the atmosphere was nice and the people were very welcoming. This place is beautiful and modern but still has a bit of the rustic wine country feel. Our server, Riley, was amazing. He was attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about any and everything in the restaurant. The menu was a tasting menu so you get to choose one item from each course for a set price. They also had wine pairing options. The food was absolutely phenomenal and tasted like so much time and effort was put into it. Everything was fresh and each bite was heaven. This was a fantastic way to celebrate my husband's birthday.

I brought my wife and toddler here to celebrate her birthday. I was fortunate to snag an open reservation on Super Bowl Sunday of all days and I looked forward to dining here for the first time ever. Although the wife and I were former Disneyland annual passholders, it never crossed our minds to dine at the Napa Rose. Probably because every time we were at Disneyland/CA Adventure, we were always just looking to get on the rides at the parks and food was always a second thought. I had read an article about the restaurant's recent reopening after doing renovation so I decided to come celebrate my wife's birthday here and bring our son out to experience California Adventure for the first time ever. Since this was our first time here, we didn't have a frame of reference as to what the place looked like before the remodel. Regardless, the atmosphere was perfect for anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion or for wanting to relax and close out a day at Disney with a wonderful meal in a beautifully appointed dining environment. Here's the rub, be prepared to pay a bit of a sum for the course menu meal. The cost is $188 per person without any drinks and I believe the dishes served change with each season. The presentation as well as the quality of the food was worth it. Also, because it's a course meal, the food is served at a slower pace so definitely take the time to enjoy the presentation and flavors of each dish. The only time the pace became an issue was at the end of the meal when we were waiting for the parting sweets and our toddler was starting to fade out and was getting a little fussy. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed the entire meal and experience and our server and wait staff made the entire dinning experience with a toddler go so smoothly.

Napa Rose reopened recently after being updated and we wanted to see the differences. We booked 2 seats at the Chef's Counter which has expanded seating. At $250 the tasting menu is a pretty pricey dinner but you miss the point if you think of it that way. This is an event, a show, an experience. The changes inside are subtle enough to make it look familiar from before. But the chef's counter was definitely bigger the seating and counters were lower. At the counter guests have each of the courses explained to them by a chef immediately after being served. Service is impeccable and timed like it's theater. Part of the pleasure is watching the kitchen and servers in action. Everyone moves with calm efficiency. Everything we were served was delicious and a delight for the senses. A5 Waygu, duck and caviar added luxury. If you go for the wine pairing you will get a new wine for each course. The sommelier will explain the wine and why he thinks it works with the dish. Guests at the counter generally get served the same dishes during the evening unless you have allergies or strong preferences. My wife doesn't like seafood of any type so had Waygu for 3 courses. This is a great choice for foodies who really want a an immersive experience. Hopefully Mickey will be pouring the wine when you go (not THAT Mickey)

5 hour validated valet parking when dining here (Don't forget cash to tip valet). 75$ for first hour and $10 each hour after that if you go pass the 5. It was awesome being able to enter the park and skip the long entrance lines through the Grand Californian! $188 per person pre-fixe menu! The service was amazing and we were constantly being checked up on! The food was also amazing and everything was presented beautifully! Some dishes was amazing and some could have been better, but overall experience was 5 stars! (4.5 stars but I'll round up). 1. Started off with a toasted marshmallow cocktail, it was amazing, the torched marshmallow cream on top was delicious! 2. Started us off with the mushroom soup, possibly the best mushroom soup I've had, such nice creamy flavor. 3. Then for first course we tried the shrimp flutes and lobster toast. Both were delicious with a nice lemon yuzu flavor! If I had to pick one I would go with the lobster toast! 4. The second course we tried the crab pasta and the wild boar pasta. Definitely go with the crab! It was in uni butter and so good! It was like a soup. 5. For the third course/entree we tried the lamb and swordfish. Both dishes although good, didn't hit the same flavor wise, I would maybe try something else like the steak. The swordfish was juicy, but the texture was like tuna, kind of firm and meaty. I prefer more sea bass texture more tender. The crust on the lamb was pretty salty and the lamb itself was too rare for my liking. 6. The last course/dessert we tried the carrot cake cremuex and the honey apple brioche. Definitely go carrot cake! It was so good! So moist and the cremuex was perfect, so unique! Although the entrees didn't hit, the other dishes were excellent, service was top notch, we really enjoyed the whole experience!

Oh my goodness! Last night, we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary at Napa Rose, which was newly remodeled. To our delight, we had one of the best dining experiences ever, and it was the best at a Disney property. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We skipped the wine menu and opted for cocktails, which were amazingly refreshing. We tried several different ones to see what we liked best. It was definitely a step up from Hearthstone Lounge and Craftsman (which we absolutely love). I ordered the ribeye center, and it was outstanding. Probably the best ribeye I've ever tasted. Erika and Cristina were the best waitresses, and the restaurant had a very relaxed vibe. The remodel looks very nice inside. We can't wait to come back! Check out my photos to see what we experienced.

    So good!

It has been at least 12 years since we dined at the chefs counter in this restaurant, and we were so excited to try again after the remodel. The remodel is fresh and crisp, and definitely in the Disney grand style. We are chef Andrew Sutton fans we were so excited to try what the next chapter of the menu would be like in this spot. Reservations are normally full so you have to check 30 to 60 days out on the Disneyland app to get the chefs counter, it was worth the wait. 7 courses in total each one deeply delicious with exquisite flavors and wonderful texture. The cocktails are top shelf and the whiskey and bourbon selection is ginormous, way too much to list on a menu. You'll have to walk to the bar to view all the bottles. It's about $250 per person which includes five hour free complementary valet at the grand. Worth it for those special occasions.

Newly renovated, new executive chef. We were a little nervous going in chef's counter. Dare I say, FOOD is better than before! Not cheap, food comes out SLOW, but for any Disney-adult-self-proclaimed-foodie. A must taste :]! Can't wait for the next special occasion to go back.

Napa Rose just reopened and it is stunning. Service was fantastic and I had a great evening. Cocktails: * Coachella Valley Cooler -- yuzu calamansi, shiso oil * Ojai Campfire -- toasted marshmallow, graham cracker dust * Montecito Eye Opener -- $60 espresso martini with Hennessy XO Things I tried: * Lobster tamale with caviar * Steak tartare on brioche * Signature mushroom cappuccino -- ultra creamy and rich, my favorite * Sautéed salmon with lobster toast & lemon bubbles * American Wagyu New York * Sorpresine pasta in California crab broth with Pacific uni * Swordfish * Colorado rack of lamb with fig-orange gremolata Dessert: * Valrhona chocolate bar with hazelnut praline -- like all my favorite chocolate candy bars in one

When the reopening of Napa Rose was announced, I knew this was the spot to celebrate our Valentine's Day. We celebrated a week early but it was also our first time here! The entire experience was fantastic. The interior was warmly and a perfect setting for fine dining. Everyone there was welcoming and the servers were really informative about the menu. There is only one dining menu which is their prix fixe menu at $188 per person. The dinning start off with the Beginning, Amuse Bouche. A shot of mushroom soup with a burst of flavor. It was the best mushroom soup I ever had. Then comes the First Course, Second Course, Entree, and then Dessert. All the food was exceptional and delicious. At the end, before leaving, we were served with A Parting Nibble, one piece of Chocolate or Jelly candy picked from an elegant serving box. In our case, we were the last one there and had the last reservation, we were gifted two candies each. Very kind of our server. We didn't have any wine but we did order from their Signature Cocktails Menu. On the menu, there is a neat short description of each drink. One of the best fine dining we have experienced and it is a place to come back.

Ask the Community - Napa Rose

How much is the side of the bread now in 2024?

    18.00

Is the bread complimentary or with a charge? I don't see it on the menu?

They used to serve a bread basket that was really good, with an assortment of breads.. and it was complimentary, but ever since Covid, they no longer serve bread. You'd have to order this foccacia side dish, if you want bread.

Have the brought back any sides, like the truffle mac and cheese or anything else? I can't find sides on any of the posted menus.

You can request for a side of that and they can make it. Last time I went in January they made it as a custom side for me BUT I was dining at the Chef's Counter though.

Have they brought back the bread basket yet?

    Unfortunately, they have not.

Does Napa Rose allow a standard Cast Member discount on a Sunday evening?

    Yes

So, is this a upscale dress up restaurant or a short, t-shirt and slippers kinda thing as I am reading the reviews?

Not formal per se, but maybe upscale casual. I was comfortable wearing khaki pants and a short sleeved collared polo, and I would have been fine wearing jeans or dress shorts. That being said, there were others wearing everything from park wear to… Read more

Does Napa Rose allow you to bring your own wine? If yes, you what is the corkage fee?

You should call to see if it is allowed or if there is a corkage fee. They have an extensive wine cellar, do menu pairings, and a sommelier so... best to check yourself.

    Are walk ins welcome?

The main dining room usually requires reservations. However, the lounge and bar do allow walk-ins. The lounge and bar are perfectly fine for the ultimate Napa Rose experience.

How long does the course dinner generally take? I saw someone mentioned their dinner experience was 2-3 hours. Wondering if that's true? We have a pretty late reservation with kids...

    Yes. It's a dining experience.

Do they have take away if you don't feel like eating inside the restaurant?

No. Napa Rose is a fine dining experience.

    Is the chef's table back?

Yes. Requires a reservation which is not on-line. Call the hotel to inquire.

Is it really just a two drink per person limit? I saw it on their Disney website?

No, where did you see that? So interesting!

Do they serve lunch or is it just dinner? Thanks

    Dinner only

Is 9pm the last reservation time for Napa Rose because I have an 8:55pm time and I don't want it to last 5 min lol?

I recently had one that late and left @11 pm So no

How did you make a reservation? I tried on the Disneyland app but couldn't find an open date.

They book really fast. Unfortunately right now you just have to keep checking on the app and hope for a cancellation to pop up

When will the chef's table open?

Chefs counter is open on weekends

    Is the chefs table open?

No it wasn't open when I was there

What's the dress code for dinner?

Fanciest and most expensive restaurant in the Disneyland Resort and no dress code. You will feel comfortable in resort wear or casual dress. No swim wear or torn clothing.

Do they have classic Disney character Snow White?

There is a Disney princess breakfast here but reservation is required. There are princesses, they switch them out we've been twice.… Read more

Is there a special seating in the Kitchen?

There is special seating at the counter that faces the kitchen. It's called Chef's Counter - you have to book ahead by calling in. It is more expensive but it is a custom experience and it is AMAZING!

Parking: I had no problem finding parking spot as the lot is huge and shared with many other businesses. Interior: We were seated right away without any wait time as we arrived when they just opened. We were seated in a dark area of the restaurant (think bar vibe) so I was a little not sure at first. Most brunch places I went to were always filled with sunlight and bright colorful interiors. This place embraced a classic, quiet feel, something like a Steak House would have. Service: Our server's name was Susan I believe, who was nice and attentive through the whole meal, despite the crowd slowly built up and filled the restaurant. She never failed to check back on us, not just once but twice and refilled our water. She probably isn't as familiar with the brunch menu favorites but seem to know more about the Main menu. The General Manager came out and greeted us because most of their customers are regulars and it's uncommon to have first timers like us visiting. This nice hospitality made us feel very warmly welcomed and impressed. Food: I couldn't decide whether to go with the Slow braised beef on the brunch menu (braised beef benedict) or the main menu but ended up going with the Main menu to get a good portion size. It was a perfect choice because the beef is just amazing. It was cooked to a soft perfection, well seasoned, the roasted vegetable was also cooked just right and not super raw/ crunchy like other places. Then the star of the show arrived - the butter cake. As Susan suggested, this is their most popular dessert and I can see why. The butter cake comes piping hot with the ice cream on top. There's a nice sugar crunchy feel near the bottom of the cake. It's so delicious that I want to come back just to eat this cake. We had a great time overall and would love to come back.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

He was extremely attentive and good to talk with. A great sense of humor too! Tonight we had 16oz prime rib and potatoes, SURPRISE! But! Ian recommended the cream of corn soup. WHAT! The creamy corn was sweet and the (shredded) radish and pepper, as my Hawaiian friends say "brok da mout" very tasty! The prime rib and potatoes were, AGAIN, perfection. Another 5+ star visit!!!! We had scallops and the ceviche trilogy to start, and by then we were already pretty full. For the main, we shared the 58 oz Prime Angus Cowboy Ribeye; it was a lot of food, so we definitely took some home. We also had two glasses of sparkling rosé. Overall, great food, great service, and a perfect anniversary spot.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!
