I love this church - solid biblical teaching with a zeal for reaching souls for Jesus Christ - they…read moregenerously and purposely give to many excellent Christian outreaches here in SWFL and abroad, have a robust bible study and Sunday school line up for both adults and children, and have invested a lot in supporting Christian education, both Christian school and homeschooling, for example. I have always found the pastors and staff to be sincere, loving, and they really care for the congregation -they have your back when you are going through struggles. They are welcoming to all people, including those with special needs who are loved on and accommodated. The music team is amazing; the worship brings you closer to the Lord. During the year, they have a wonderful Wednesday night meal they provide before an array of bible studies offered - I always meet new people there, have made many friends at this church. But, the most important aspect is that I feel I have really grown in my faith in the Lord at Covenant Church of Naples; they have a heart to disciple Believers and to see them be fruitful in spreading the Gospel.

My honest & careful revised review. Measured. Careful with your finite time, treasure and…read moreattachments. Years ago, you would know people. Requires real work now. Only you can determine that effort. *They have always had very good worship music for calm traditional Presbyterians. But real effort to have exceptional music. Only you can pick your preferred minutes. :) They do have soft drums. if dealing with sound sensitivity. *The preaching has always been exceptional for my estimated 12 years. I doubt it could ever really be improved. 1. If you do not agree with something or seem to have an experience in another tradition decades ago, mentioned over 15 seconds, you may be asked to leave. Especially a church plant with obviously a harsh and annoyed pastor, and then a young home group leader with very young kids that were all treated with support, respect and an effort to aid a small new group. Despite two theology degrees and nine child faith films and an adult faith book, one comment had me rejected from the new church. I went because they ASKED folks the huge church to support this struggling start up. Reason? No one will tell and weird, harsh, and peculiar rejecting of my kindness and trust. So, I am guessing at the reason, which may be legally wise. Politically wise. But what in 12 years created this? Silence is hard. But maybe the reason so many massive parachurch things emerge like Samaritan's purse and 5000 others. *Will this be your experience? Unlikely. Stay within the lines, Serve. Serve more. Every event will need help and connects you. Attend the new members class, If you disagree on something, ask is it YOUR deal breaker. And discuss that finite lesser doctrine or practice with those who are fine. This is a profoundly small denomination that has led powerfully by immense academic excellence and precise doctrinal care, they did have a severe destruction of their school, and denomination and faith foundation, by anti-Scriptural "scholars" and their carefulness really DOES have its benefits. Though, I am praying for some emerging top comics. 2. Massive numbers now and no chance all can be done by staff. I followed up new members class from my completion years ago and no reply to 10 plus requests on my status and the chance of being part of small local group. In a lovely massive number of folks when no chance to know individuals, who knows why no reply? Ignored. Repeatedly. Who knows why? Too many people with real needs? Maybe you have to be a new member who completed a step after the ones I did in the past? You see my dissociation? Some uncoupling? Not good for me and not good for new folks. Maybe you will never notice. 3. I was involved with the Men's group in many past years. And you could actually start to KNOW fine men. It evolved to a strict Bible study of good thought information. Useful. Zero making relationships. After donating thousands of theology books, i DO need added local friends. Mine keep getting elected and moving. Exasperating. Right? You too? I led these decades ago, so I was stunned by an impaired bizarre insulting the leader--sadistic and abusive. Told paster who KINDLY went the following week. "All fine." Of course, fine when a boss suddenly drops in. No stealing when a sheriff is five feet away. 4. Great, great missions. All over top local and international places done exceptionally. Amazing! 5. At fellowship events some are grossly ignorant that such times are not to ignore visitors or unknown people at a table, but to reach out to new people. This in-group wall is just like a car club or sports fans, but actually worse. It needs a fix in some. When I have brought people and shared "a visitor" many mature people were only talking to friends. The bigger you get as a community, the more ignoring you may get. So, you will have to serve and join things to start knowing some names. 6. If any alienation with you do not expect anyone to discuss with you. But these days my guess is if you went through new members class which is not wasted time, they might talk to you about a concern. "Do you really need six husbands?" So, no weird SILENCE. We need critics. I have dozens to protect me/ 7. They realize kids are lost in school esp. later years. Smart. Important. "Prophetic." Sorry, I forgot myself and got a bit wild for a word. Yes. Necessary. My goal is not to be harsh, fake, a cheerleader or sell. Among thousands many love it. One reason I was there so many years. Not against anyone. Looking for entry points that will emerge. Naples is finite. Most churches will annoy or might even hurt you. Are you growing? Can you add a missing part? It is not always easy. And it GO to know people in churches. It requires great effort. Patience. But who will tell you this to make a careful informed decision to pick your "lousy" best church? An expression from a mentor 24 years in a Siberian prison. Your best is a "lousy best." Fitting to us all.
