I recently came here for my birthday and am already planning my next trip to Newcastle just to come back and eat here. The night I was there we had Napoli Style Garlic Bread - The bread is cooked in the woodfire oven and stuffed with garlic, oregano and mozzarella cheese, I can never eat any other garlic bread again after eating this one it is that good Margherita Pizza - The best pizza I have ever eaten, the pizza here is done in the true Napoli style, thin crust soggy middle (flip up the nose and curl in the sides) beautiful rich sauce and blobs of mozzarella cheese Pasta Alla Norma - Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente in the most amazing red sauce with chunks of beautifully cooked eggplant and ricotta Sicilian Canoli - Omg I dream about these! You get three canoli's filled with beautiful fresh ricotta. My Grandparents had another pizza and I didn't try it but they told me it was great I cannot stop raving about this place, it is my favourite restaurant in all of Australia. read more

I would rate it minus if I could. We had a birthday there tonight it was a very long frustrating wait and service was terrible. There was no where near enough staff on for amount of bookings. We waited over 1 hour and half for pizzas and then two people at our table got there meals 30 mins after everyone else. We were never asked if meals were ok or if we needed water or drinks. Then we waited 30 mins for our bill and asked multiple times. We had raw pizza dough on few pizzas and they were very soggy. The pizzas had hardly any ingredients on them at all almost like plain margaritas. The seafood pizza had 3 pieces of seafood on the whole seafood. Then we finally settled our bill we got home to realise they added there own $43 tip illegally without asking which I will be returning to collect. Horrible experience. read more

If you're after authentic wood fired Italian pizza and calzones, then this is the place to come. I've experienced proper Italian pizza on the shores of Lake Como, and these guys have nailed it. Here less is more with fresh ingredients and a hot pizza oven to make the culinary experience perfect. This isn't your Dominoes or Pizza Hut, it's the real deal and well worth it. Excellent pizza and stracciatella, really good ambience, will definitely recommend. Only lost 1 star because we had to wait about 40 minutes (or more) for our two pizzas after finishing our entré, to the point that we thought they had forgotten about us as everyone else was getting served. Otherwise, the food, the place, and the service was great. read more

I showed up less than 30 minutes before closing on a Monday when most places here were closed. The waiter let me know they were closing soon but assured me I had time. The pizza I ordered was outstanding. The toppings were great but the crust was what made it. They cooked it just right, so many places over cook it. As I sat eating a couple of more tables showed up and the staff graciously sat and served them even though they would be there well past closing. I said I would take my check before I was done so they could work on other stuff, and the waiter told me that he had plenty of work to do and to take my time. Real Italian in Australia! I'm so happy! The truffle and Gorgonzola gnocchi was to-die-for. Dead set. If you're hungry though, don't get the small serve, it really is small but it's rich so it's satisfying. The Margherita pizza we had was simple and beautiful; authentic flavours. A bit skimpy on the basil leaves though. Currently waiting on dessert... Last time I had the orecchiette pasta and it was divine. Overcharged for my takeaway Gnocchi. $24 for one large takeaway - online price advertised at $20. They also have no takeaway carry bags so expect to lug your food in the container It was good but the portion size was small ie two cups Not worth the price considering it is only gnocchi read more

Quite overpriced for what we got, having a fancy sounding menu shouldn't be the basis for charging more for your meal. $80 for 2x pizzas, a small pasta, 2x cans of coke and a bottle of soft drink is beyond reasonable. read more
