Had a great 4-star lunch at Nar, a Georgian spot offering a prix fixe menu. The eggplant appetizer was flavorful, the lentil soup was good and the lamb chops were cooked nicely with good seasoning. I had to also get the khachapuri which is standout Georgian dish...warm, cheesy, and perfect for sharing. It was way too much food and I had to get most of it to go. Overall, a really enjoyable tasting experience with great experience.

We were excited to celebrate my husband's birthday with family here, eastern European restaurants are hard to find. We arrived as they opened, the entrance to the parking lot is narrow and long besides the building, you enter alongside the front of the restaurant, and it curls around towards the back. They were able to seat us right away. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and the bigger lights turn on as the sun goes down. I appreciated the quiet we got as the first few tables, because the open dining room got noisy as the room filled up. The complementary bread was hot and crispy. I saved my piece because I thought maybe some of our food would come with some yummy sauce, but they didn't, everything was dry. It would have been better if they left the water at the table to self serve, but you have to wait for them to come around to refill your little cups. The Shah Plov is quite different from other plov, it's a drier long grain rice, maybe basmati, and it's baked in a shell with some fruits on the bottom. The rice was cooked fine, but the meat in this plov was incredibly dry and tough. The portion was large, this plate had more than enough rice to feed our table of four with the rest of the entrees. I give this 3/5 The lule kabob was amazing, and it was probably the only thing I would come back for. The meat was fatty and seasoned well, cooked medium-well. The onion salad was a good complement. The only thing I would improve was that there was 2.5 baby potatoes on the plate, and then a sad lavash. If there was more potatoes, or the lavash was on the side so it didn't get soggy under the salad, I would enjoy it more. 5/5 The ciz biz is highly regarded on yelp, and my mother-in-law was adamant that we get it. If not for this I think we would have got the mixed grill and been much happier for it. We do love liver though, so it isn't a matter of disliking liver. The ciz biz comes out on a thin grill plate, with onions and potatoes. It could have used more seasoning and some form of fat. It was dry and sad. 1/5 The Saj chicken also comes out on a thin grill plate, and is usually cooked under a weight that results in crispy, juicy chicken. This followed the same as the other meats on the table, with being dry, overcooked, and sad. The chicken is accompanied by tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes. 1/5. (I recommend the saj chicken at Bevri instead.) This particular kachapuri was too sour for my taste, but I don't hold that against them, the bread was cooked through and the bottom was crispy. 3/5 I'm not sure if they were having an off night, I was hoping for better. We should have vetted it before heading there the first time for a special occasion.

Cheers to Mountain View, for gaining a Caucasian (means "of the Caucasus" here, not "white people"!) restaurant, right after Los Altos lost Bevri (Georgian)! I enjoyed everything we ordered and will surely come back, likely quite often, as I live nearby and think the prices are more than fair. The flavors were unique and memorizable. Spices are very on point and all the textures are done right. I also discovered ciz biz (beef liver) today for the first time and loved every bite of it! 1 star deducted for minor execution issues. One of the gurzas (dumplings) already had its wrapper torn and the soup leaked out. The minced lamb skewers meat had a little too much sinew and could be chewy at times.

My first time trying Azerbaijani food, which, from my first impressions, share styles from Georgian and Mediterranean cuisine across various aspects, but still a bit different to have a varied experience! I went here for a team dinner as a party of 10, and we were well taken care of. Some of the dishes I got to try were - Gurza (Azerbaijani dumplings) - the meat filling is a bit chewy, reminds me closest to a Khinkali which makes sense as both Azerbaijan and Georgia are within the Caucasus region - Dolma - rice and beef wrapped in grape leaves - delicious, but also you can find this in other adjacent cuisines - Ciz biz (sizzling beef liver) - apparently a delicacy. I am not a fan but some teammates really love this dish - I liked how flavorful it was, but not the texture. To each their own - Three nations grill platter - shah plov is a lavash wrapped rice baked with beef. Beef was dry but the rice - wow, so flavorful. That is the only miss. The lamb and chicken they served was so juicy and succulent - generous portions of meat that even though they say the plate serves 4, it serves 4 and you will be very stuffed with minimal room for anything else - Caucasus pakhlava - it is like a baklava, but it is chewier and has more syrup soaked in. Tiny pieces but super filling I also tried some wines - the qvevri ones that are more Georgian but nice pairing. Just note it is on the drier side. And pomegranate wine that is a bit tangy and drinks like juice with a decent amount of alcohol. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. A teammate went here 5 times in a week during their business trip, and I had an enjoyable experience, and you don't really find this type of cuisine in the US often, so it is worth a detour.

1/3/2026 NAR Restaurant 286 W El Camino Real Mountain View, CA 94041 I went to this new Azerbaijani/American place on ECR in MTV next to the Jack in the Box. This was recently a Chinese restaurant and has been nicely remodeled with an upscale contemporary table and chair setup interior. There is parking that wraps around the building. I ordered the Ciz Biz (pronounced Ch) lunch plate along with the suggested bread. Service was helpful, attentive and good. The bread loaf came first and was very long (could feed 4). It was a little chewy but soft and good. The Ciz Biz (beef liver slices with potato cubes and some grilled onions) is good if you like liver and the onions. Be sure to ask for more onions because the flavor and sweetness accompanies the liver well. Great place for liver and onions lovers. It's repeatable.

We had such a wonderful lunch here and are already planning to come back to try more dishes. We ordered the prix fixe lunch (appetizer + soup/salad + main) for $39.90, and it was a lot of food for an amazing price. For appetizers, the eggplant rolls were the standout. Perfectly seasoned, soft, and incredibly flavorful. From the salads, the eggplant salad was our clear favorite. The eggplant was cooked beautifully with a soft interior and a rich, delicious sauce. The Choban salad was also fresh and tasty. For the main course, the lule kebab was excellent. It was tender, flavorful meat paired with perfectly cooked potatoes. Overall, everything we tried was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was great. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be returning!

An Unforgettable Azerbaijani Dining Experience at Nar Restaurant If you're looking for truly authentic, fresh, and homemade Azerbaijani food, Nar Restaurant is an absolute must. We started with eggplant rolls and mangal, and both were excellent. Then we had the lentil soup, which tasted completely homemade, warm, and comforting, along with a fresh and flavorful Choban salad. For the main course, we ordered Ciz Biz and Saj Chicken. I have to especially mention the Ciz Biz -- it was incredibly nostalgic and took both my husband and me straight back to our childhood and our mother's cooking. This is not a dish you usually find in restaurants, and this was the first time I ever experienced such an authentic and perfectly made version. Made with lamb liver and potatoes, it was absolutely outstanding. The Saj Chicken, prepared with Cornish hen and fresh vegetables, was equally delicious, with a truly homemade taste. What really sets Nar Restaurant apart is the freshness and homemade quality of the food -- you can genuinely taste the care in every bite. On top of that, the restaurant owner , Hikmat, is incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, which makes the entire experience even more special. I also can't say enough about the bread -- it's baked in-house and was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it. For dessert, we had the San Sebastian cheesecake and Azerbaijani baklava, and both were absolute masterpieces and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Highly, highly recommended. I will definitely be coming back many times to try every single item on the menu. An authentic, heartfelt, and unforgettable dining experience.

I'm so glad my friend told me about Nor restaurant. It's the perfect place if you want to try a new cuisine that's full of flavor and the authentic vibe of the Caucasus mountains. We had khachapuri, choban salad, and eggplant rolls everything was fresh, super tasty, and the service was great. The wine was amazing too, made with traditional methods and full of rich flavor! Highly recommended

It's rare to find a place where food, atmosphere, and people all feel perfectly in harmony. NAR is not just a restaurant -- it's a corner of genuine Caucasian warmth in the heart of Silicon Valley.Thank you for the taste, comfort, and kindness you bring! And at the end -- homemade jam, a gentle reminder that true hospitality lives in the smallest details. Azerbaijan is where the Caucasus meets the East --a land where every flavor carries the strength of the mountains and the soul of the Orient.

(Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!

The Cielo Rosa, with mezcal and jalapeño has a lot going on as well. The forager had great mushroom flavor and loved the roasted garlic. The fried chicken sandwich itself was pretty great, you have to love breading because the breading is very very heavy, but the meat itself was just as juicy. Very very fair pricing for such a huge burger and in a very nice location as well. The tender beef wrap was not so great at all, the beef was far from tender and more chewy than anything. The sauce and the wrapper itself did not really go together. It felt like two cultures trying to mix and nothing really worked out here.

Narrowed it down to this place because i was feeling a chicken sandwich, and i did not want to have Chick-fil-A anymore. I just want to say that, I wish there was one closer to the Livermore area! This sandwich was really good; crispy, crunchy, big, flavorful and totally worth the price! I wasn't at the actual location, i ordered through door dash, and surprised that it was still hot. Lastly, i want to mention the packaging, it's very bright and i feel like it definitely adds to the overall value. One day i hope to visit the actual location so I can have a better tasting experience. I imagine its better when served hot and fresh!

They also don't have the fried egg, bacon, or white cheddar from the other locations. The basic smash is a solid burger on a really good potato bun. Personally I'm a fan of the truffle smash with grilled onions and black truffle mayo -- I ask them to add tomatoes. The grilled cheese is a bit boring, probably because it's on the kids menu. Next time I'll ask them to add tomatoes and maybe the truffle mayo. The truffle fries are hot and nicely seasoned and topped with parmesan and parsley. They charge extra for the dipping sauces -- but the truffle mayo on truffle fries is worth it. You order at a kiosk which is easy to operate but I had a coupon and couldn't figure that out. The friendly staff was happy to help. My only complaint: for some reason it took a very long time for our food to come out and they didn't seem that busy.

We sat at one of the many stools to watch a game while our food was being made. Everything came out in about 15 mins since it was slow when we came in. We both enjoyed our sandwich/burger and devour the sweet potato fries. I always love getting the food here as everything is fresh. The drink was good and I got their seasonal special frozen Paloma while we continue to watch the game. The bartenders were attentive and made sure we were doing alright.

The cashier was extremely nice, and she was very patient as I took a long time to read their GIANT MENU. They have Thai Iced Tea milkshakes, I have never heard of such a thing, and I will definitely try it next time. This time I got a strawberry shake. It was my first day quitting cigarettes cold turkey after 25 years, so I wasn't about to risk my shake experience with a possible dud. The strawberry shake hit the spot, or as the youngins say "It hits." The burger and fries were delicious too, or as the youngsters say "Mad fire bro." I would pass on the firehouse fries next time, they were not fire, they were lowkey nasty, as the kids say. Check out my photos, you won't be disappointed.
