The convenience of having all these facilities in one place cannot be oversold. On the rec side there is an indoor swimming pool with hot tub, sauna, steam room, and children's pool, locker rooms, pool table, gymnasium, racquetball court, running track, cardio and strength training equipment, as well as a studio for classes. The membership is limited to Independence residents, and is extremely affordable. They also offer a variety of classes and programs, which cost extra but are mostly cheap. The community side has several meeting rooms that can be rented out and configured to different sizes, a childcare room, and a lounge with couches, piano, and fire place. My favorite part of this facility is the center courtyard with two-story glass walls. It really brightens up both the community side and recreation side, and makes working out so much more pleasant, especially in the winter.

However, one lady (I'm assuming a manager of some sort) (short, gray hair, and glasses) came out of the back room to assist us. She was happy to assist me, but the second she noticed "R," her whole demeanor changed. She was rude and short with us from that moment on. I am DISGUSTED by this BLATANT racism and discrimination in 2019!!! All in all, I would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone. It's definitely worth your while to drive down the road a little bit and find a rec center that won't discriminate you based on the color of your skin.

CLE's best kept secret!…read more The Prolific Oxygen Dome (aka POD) is one of the projects of Rid-All Green Partnership. It's unlike anything you'll see in CLE. It's very dystopian looking and futuristic in some way.You can find this POD on the premises of Rid-All Partnership. It operates as a standalone venture. POD combines many cool concepts into one - education hub about plants and herbs, community/creatives space, and wellness hub. You can drop in at the POD for an event or become a member. You can also host your own event here like a retreat or fitness class. I dropped in for heated yoga awhile back and had a very positive experience. I also heard about writing workshops held in this space. Membership is listed on their website between $25-50 per month, two tiers are available. I believe that programming (like wellness) is included in your membership. Best ways to discover happenings at the POD is on their website and Instagram @thepod.project. That's how I discovered a yoga class (signed up on drop-in basis). I hate to spoil the surprise but walking into the POD for the first time is a whole experience. The first thing that stands out is flowing water and the first thing you'll see is a big pool with fish. Yes, you can actually look in and see the fish. It's very therapeutic. There's artificial green grass under your feet and plenty of plants along the perimeter of the POD. There are also some fun community art pieces scattered in this space. This space immediately feels peaceful. There's so many unexpected things inside that it transports you. I did not get to interact with any staff that work in the POD directly but interacted with Rid-All Green Partnership's employees. They're all very friendly. The yoga instructor (not affiliated with POD). It was also so welcoming and so warm. It just feels like a lovely space to build community. The area where this POD is located is around Kinsman. It's not the best area of the city. Be aware of your surroundings and commute. When you arrive, you feel completely safe and at peace. I recommend parking in Rid-All Partnership's lot as opposed to street parking. I plan to visit the POD more! I love all that it stands for and especially looking forward to the wellness offerings. We need more spaces just like these in our community!

I was raised LDS, so coming to a place like Kirtland (which yes, I'll admit, probably seems…read moreentirely random to the average person) was actually a really interesting experience. Some of my ancestors lived in Kirtland, so seeing a piece of my personal history was really insightful and something I'll never forget. My dad, my brother, and I all went on a guided tour around the grounds which is where the Mormon Church moved to in the 1800s. A lot of these buildings are restored originals where you can see what it was like to be in the village during that time. Kirtland itself is actually a really beautiful small town and from what the tour guides told me, it is quite spectacular in the autumn when the leaves change color. The volunteers were very knowledgable and kind young women who told us a lot about the history of the grounds and had fun facts at nearly every turn. Really cute tour and fun if you are into local history!

I was there for an authors event with local author Courtney Hauser in the meeting room. Afterwards I asked Tony, the manager to kindly give me a tour. He was very enthusiastic about what the library had to offer and showed me the different areas of concentration. He mentioned recent improvements and also soon to be upgrades. Areas of opportunity: I think the restroom should be wheelchair accessible. Also able to be opened without touching the pull down handle. People with dexterity issues may have a hard time opening the restroom door because I had to pull hard. I will definitely return.

I wouldn't call this a community center, it's more like a recreation center that truly wants to keep non residents out. I would never take a disabled person to this center. Only for young or senior center more like it.

With the primary election scheduled for a day I would be out of town I decided to vote early. On a…read moreFriday morning, I headed to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections located near downtown. Parking was easy, you enter the free lot off of E.12th. From there it is a short walk to the voting area; there is an area for canvasing by candidates and there supporters during the walk if you want more information. Once inside I was directed down the hall and to the right where they have a large area set up for early voting. When I arrived there was no line and there were a dozen or more stations set up to check in. You present your ID and they confirm you information, then they print out your ballot and you sign to confirm. From there have your choice of voting kiosks where you fill out your ballot and then take it to have it scanned. Overall voting early at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections was convenient, easy and well organized. With the large number of stations set up I would guess that they can handle large crowds, but your experience might vary. A nice job all around and all of the election workers I interacted with were friendly and helpful.

I had a smooth experience here voting early during the midterm elections. I just voted today…read more(Sunday - November 4th 2018) and I'm glad I'll beat the crowds on election day which is Tuesday, November 6th. I got here early at 12:30pm and a line quickly started to form. Voting began at 1pm and I left at 1:30pm because I was taking my time as I voted. You can be in and out within 10 mins if you vote quickly. Right now (1:45pm) there is a long line of people waiting to vote but the process is looking smooth and controlled. The ballots are paper based so when you enter, you will be given a paper ballot along with a form to complete. On the form, you will be asked for your name, address, and either your driver's license number or the last 4 digits of your social security number. I heard that the actual polling locations on election day in your neighbourhood will have electronic ballots. If you plan to vote early then come here to the Board of Elections and vote. The building is clean, safe (security officers are around), and parking is at designated spots. Parking will be tight though if you don't get here early. GO VOTE.
