I think that place has long since been converted into a Whole Foods. There were lots of toys and activities to keep the one -four age group entertained but it was lacking a quiet space for kids to decompress. Sometimes kids (and parents) need a quiet space. The Center for Creative Play had numerous quiet space areas filled with pillows and soft music. I sincerely appreciated that. I will say that the woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and personable and the restrooms were clean. I read a startling statistic once that nearly 60 percent of diaper changing stations are riddled with bacteria and cocaine residue- I felt safe to assume that My Lil Play Place was part of the cocaine free minority. The Purel wipes took care of any lingering bacteria suspicions. I would definitely give this place another chance to win me over. My daughter had a really good time.

Having this place within literal walking distance of my apartment was the best. It's an absolute powerhouse of a collective where the vibe is brilliantly chaotic and endlessly welcoming. On any given night, you can wander in and find yourself surrounded by a wild mix of local art, ranging from moody, glow-in-the-dark multimedia installations to stunning contemporary paintings and custom apparel. But it's not just a gallery; it's a living, breathing community hub. I've walked over for everything from super chill community yoga sessions and intensely focused figure drawing classes to packed open mics, live band showcases, and the legendary Lawrenceville Art Crawl after-parties. Having such a kaleidoscope of local talent, music, and performance just a short stroll away made me feel incredibly spoiled; it's the definitive beating heart of the neighborhood's art scene.

My School Preschool is the best preschool in the Mars area, and for a great price. Their tuition is…read morevery reasonable. The teachers all have many, many years of experience, combined with boundless energy, enthusiasm, a love of learning, and love for children. Many of the teachers have advanced degrees, and they're clearly not there teaching for the little bit of money they earn -- they're there because they love to teach. The teachers are simply amazing and gifted. The building is small, but they make the most of it. They offer a Lunch Bunch class for 2-yr olds with a parent that meets once per week for a few weeks in the Fall and Spring, a 3-yr old class on Tues & Thurs AM or PM, a 4-yr old class on Mon, Wed, & Fri AM or PM, and a Mon-Thurs Pre-K class in AM for 5-yr olds. They emphasize hands-on, sensory-based learning through music, movement, stories, arts, science experiments, learning centers during free-play time, poetry, reading, pre-writing and many special projects, field trips, and guest teachers that you'd normally expect to find only in an expensive, private preschool. It reminds a little of the Montessori teaching style. It's also a very diverse place with students from all over the world and they welcome children with a variety of learning disabilities and developmental delays as well. It's a very accepting place. Unfortunately, the building is not handicap accessible for those in wheelchairs or walkers -- all students must be able to walk up and down stairs. Both of my children went here, each for three years and I can't say enough good things about it. My youngest child is finishing his last year at My School this month, and I'll be a little sad not being there in the future. It's a wonderful, fun, and nurturing place.
