Nice grounds and very middle of nowhere if you want to get away from it all. The house has an interesting history explained to us by some of the staff.
There was a xmas fair this weekend as the house will now be closed until Spring. everyone was helpful and kind but with the fair it was rather cramped for space!
Would like to see the house again sometime in its natural state. We wandered on a couple of the short walks and its in a lovely setting, will go back for a longer walk another time i am sure.
The little burger/coffee van outside was nice, coffee was not the greatest but not bad and the burger was AMAZING! Fresh meat and very tasty. Sadly this is being removed as the house will have a cafe of its own next year.
The small garden areas are interesting, check out those house windows closely ;)
A very small and pleasant national trust site but if you are looking for something more grand you could be disappointed. For a gentle and enjoyable stroll on a Sunday afternoon it was just right.
Toilets are currently a in portacabin, cafe to be opened next year so not the greatest facilities but obviously improving soon. read more
